    • A question about sprites

I am currently making a plug in and I need some help with sprites. I downloaded a file from a web site that had the standard 36 pic arranged 6 inches by 6 inches. I opened up Pics2Sprites and then selected the file (which was in a resedit file along with the wireframe of it and such) and it beeped and closed down. I know thats supposed to happen and it is supposed to go to the clipboard. When I go to find it all it is is a black box with the id 128. Did I do something wrong?

    • I know your problem, i think.
Did you Make your animation in PICS format? If you did not and its in quicktime it will not work. I hope i solved your problem.

    • Well you see I didnt make them. I downloaded them from a graphics site and when I open it up it comes up in Resedit. Problem is I dont want it in resedit. I want them seperate so I can use them in EV Edit. Any other ideas?

why not just do them in ResEdit. It's faster and more reliable.

Pics2Sprites converts a PICS (That stands for PIC T S equence) into a 6 by 6 sprite array. What you downloaded was already a correctly formatted single PICT resource.

A PICS file contains a number of PICT resources, rather than a single matrix. You only need to use Pics2Sprites if you are using a 3D Modler that saves animations in PICS format. Sprites downloaded off the web should only need to be copied and pasted into your plug via resedit.

    • Oh okay thanks. I was just using EV edit because although it is really buggy, it has a way better interface, and making systems and positioning them correctly is a lot easier. Thanks again!
