    • How should I release a plugin?

I've made up a little plugin that adds a few much-needed, well-balanced ships and outfits to the EVO universe and I've had it extensively tested - how should I go about distributing it to the general public? The archives are still a mess, and no one will find it there - and I can't email it to everyone who wants a copy (heh, maybe I could. Anyone for a new plugin?)

How about setting up a small web page; I no its only a small plug but it needen't be anything big. then Post the Url on the Newswire and weboards.
If its not to large then I wouldn't mind a copy sent to me?

      - A life -- cool, where can I download one of those

    • If you don't mind it being reviewed (eventually), send me a copy and I'll host it for you. Binhex format for preference.

    • My advice:
Get the file hosted on the archives: more people look at them than you think.
Email everyone who has a web site and ask if they will link to that archive. This will help a lot when you come to update.
Then email everyone you can think of with a very short, courteous email saying the plug-in is available, and indicating how they can 'unsubscribe' if they don't want you emailing them again.
Finally, tell everyone on the boards.

I suggest waiting a week; we'll have something up by then.
