    • Stuck in the Voinian String


      Destroy UE convoy

      I'm towards the end of the Voinian missions, but I can't complete the UE convoy mission for some reason. I go to the Bakka System, destroy the battlegroup, the red arrow disappears from the map, I land on outpost Ylynn, and then nothing happens. Is there something I'm forgetting?

      Looks like you've got two missions active here, both to destroy some UE ships, so make sure you're not confusing the two. They both say that the ship objective is not complete (ie. you haven't destroyed all the ships you're supposed to) but the red arrow disappearing from the map would indicate that the ship objective is complete. Perhaps your pilot log is not entirely up-to-date. Open Nova again and reload your pilot - that should force the log to update.

    • Looks like I got that one solved. I just had to retry and abort until they recognized it in Vorik. Finished the Voinian missions and then got screwed by the Zidagar. I bought a Voinian Cruiser, got full outfits, and then had to buy a smaller ship so that I could do a delivery in a short time. Now I'm flying an arada and have about 3 mil left.

      One other question: ECM/Zidagar ECM systems. Do they actually accomplish anything? Anytime, someone shoots missiles/SADs/SAEs at me, they all hit, regardless of the ECM system I'm using. I noticed however, that when flying a Zidara, the ECM system seems to actually work. Is the Zidagar ECM system only meant to work on a Zidara?

    • Which port are you using? The official "EV Nova: Override" or the unofficial "EV Override for Nova"? The former probably has errors causing the ECM systems to not work.

    • No matter what I used I always ended up tweaking the jamming strengths in Mission Computer just so I'd be more comfortable around SAEs

      I'm using the unofficial newer port. It looks like the regular ECM works pretty well, but the Zidagar ECM is just a waste of 500,000 creds.

    • Strange, I can't see anything wrong with the data. It should all be working fine.
      The ECM should jam 25% of SADs and the Zidagar one should jam 50% (these add together). Additionally, most crescent ships have built-in 25% jamming while Zidagar ships have built-in 75%. SAEs are much less susceptible, requiring over 50% jamming before you can have an effect on them.
