    • Credits and Ships

      Some questions:

Are there any easier ways to earn credits, other than completing missions and gambling?

On one planet, on the news, I saw that some criminals have a BOUNTY offered. Is that true? Or is that just a joke?

I've been to some planets and the price (in credits) of ships is ZERO. Why is that? And can you really go to INSANELYGREAT.COM? And win ships?

    • Welcome to the boards. Are you playing EVO?

Disable and loot pirate ships. Especially up north by the Zachit. Also some great trade routes. I'll go find them.

Not sure about the issue with the zero dollar cost for ships. Are you using a plug-in, that might cause conflicts.

EDIT: Here's a link to a recent post to help you with trade routes, etc. Good luck.

If the half price of your outfits (the trade-in) is more worth than the ship, you get it for zero cost.

    • At the outset I usually disable Trader ships around UE space and take their money and cargo (to sell) and try to capture them until I'm rich. Or else I trick out my Shuttle with extra Blaze Cannons then head over to Meria and start pirating (for cash, goods, and the attempt to steal the ship itself) Shuttles, Helians, Scoutships, Miranu Freighters and Merchant Aradas until I have a Merchant Arada for myself. Then I set to work earning money however I see fit, whether looting Laziras for cash or Miranu Freighters for goods, until I'm rich enough to start trading.

The most profitable trade route is Weapons from Morin (Chak) to Emalghia (Emalghion) and River Eels from Kitrak (Kitrak) to Zidagar (Zidagar) on the return trip.

Not as profitable and with more mouse-clicks involved is Crassworms, Medical Supplies and Equipment in a circle from Pax Station (Dogover) to Omm (Omm) to Telnan (Ariane) and back to Pax.

Much less lucrative is the Thehir / Gribn run trading Metal and Equipment back and forth in the Hatuli system.

I like Miranu Heavy Freighter escorts (buy one, capture an Arada to use for yourself, keeping the MHF as an escort, rinse, repeat) and a Crescent fighter for myself, though you might find an Arada (Azdgari is the best until you can capture an Enhanced one) or Miranu Courier easier to use on the longer routes.

      InsanelyGreat.com: No.

Bounties are available from bars on Independent worlds when your combat rating is high enough (when you've killed enough ships on your own).

Good luck in your travels, and have lots of fun playing Override. 🆒

    • Don't forget the Thehir and Gribn run in the Thoso system, I think. The trade-off is having to dodge enemy pirate when you start out with weak ships, kupo, but as you get more doe you can afford more escort, and thus rack in bigger cashola cause you spend alot less in escort without having to warp out to another system, kupo.

In the period leading up to EV Override 's release - ie. some years ago now - that site held a contest which gave an appearance in the game to one person, the one you see flying the Crescent Warship.

    • I think I have found the shortest profitable two-way trade route in EV:O 1.0.2. It isn't very profitable because you buy for medium and sell for high on both places, but it's incredibly quick. The endpoints are so close you essentially just have to turn around to land. I can't remember what the commodities are (metal and equipment maybe? Maybe not...) but I know the prices and locations.

I started a new pilot to try doing things in a different order from what I have done before. I took my shuttle and, without doing any missions or fighting or trading or purchasing or anything, flew to Emalghion in a circuitous route stopping at Outpost Theta, Station Pybin, and a couple other places on my way.

Anyway, I landed on Emalghia and went to the bar, where I accepted the mission to defend the system from the Voinians. I didn't have to do much work, thanks to the Emalgha ships in the system. I only had to take out a single Voinian Cruiser by myself in a stock shuttle, which is easy enough.

That done, I landed again, collected my 150,000 credit pay, and immediately bought an Emalgha Fighter. I accepted the dimplomacy mission from the second moon of the planet and went back to Earth. I wanted to accept the diplomacy return mission, but that annoying UE Shipping Recruitment mission kept popping up first, and I didn't have the cargo space to accept it. I bought a Shuttle, accepted that mission and then the mission I wanted, aborted the shipping mission and flew back to Emalghia.

Bought another Emalgha Fighter and did some more "defend the system missions". Went to UE space to get Blaze Cannons instead of Emalgha Cannons. Came back to Emalghion and hired some Emalgha Freighters. Started trading to earn money.

The trading takes place entirely within the Emalghion system. Buy at medium price for 240 on Lmeito and sell for 300 on Emalghia, then buy for 480 on Emalghia and sell for 600 on Lmeito. Rinse. Repeat.

The "rinse" step is all-important. Don't omit it. Watch out for Voinian raids that jack the price on Emalghia up from 480 to 730 though. It usually only lasts a single day so you don't have time to buy for 600 and sell for 730. Just keep trading the other stuff and it'll revert back to normal pretty fast. I earned five mil right quick doing that. Got some engine and shield upgrades on my Emalgha Fighter, and am having lots of fun. My combat rating is already Ultimate. I think I'll join the Zachit next...
