    • transferring game to another computer?

I have been trying to transfer my registered versiion of EVO to a different computer via floppies. I have transferred the entire foder and the game runs, but it is an unregistered version. Is there some other file that must be transferred? Is there a way to look up the registration number in the file with resedit or something like that? I registered it years ago, and havent played it for quite a whil so I dont remember the email used or anything.

    • Ahh floppies. The breakfast of champions.

Try copying your prefs file, along with any other override related file in your prefs folder, onto the new machine. Failing that... umm...

Run a copy of Timbucktoo on both machines and...

Okay, someone competent explain if there's a way to res-hack the code out of the file.

    • It would be easier, if you remember the emailadress/card number you registered the game with. Make ambrosia send you a new code.

He can't. His code was registered under an email he doesn't have access to anymore.

    • Remove everything VISIBLE from the Prefs folder, excepting everything EV-related. Your registration file will be preserved... whichever invisible it may be. IDK, I'm not an assembly-level haxor.

Now I feel like an idiot for not realizing there was a file called "ev override registration" in the prefs folder.

Anyway, I transferred it and it worked. Thanks for all you guys' help.
