    • the Guardian

      GASP!!!!
How do you kill that thing anyway? I saved my game to just outside the gate after killing every beast in sight behind me.
Is there a way to run past him/leave that screen to get to the foot of the statue?
What's the right weapons to be using at this point? I'm using a long bow.
      Great game tho!

    • You have to kill him, as there will be no exit out of the place until he dies.

Tips for how to kill him fall to 2 things: learn to block and have plenty of potions.

Finally if you do manage to kill him do not save your game. If you save and reload
the guardian will still be dead but the exit will have disappeared, and there will be
no way to get it back(and hence you will be stuck). Well, this happened in 1.0. I'm
not sure if 1.0.1 ever fixed this. But I'd exit the area before you save.

      Good luck.

err, nononono. Mabe you want to do some damage 🙂
Use the dragon tooth shield (I cant remember its proper name) and the dwarven runic sword
Or alternative, use the War axe misery.

and have the best gear money can buy, Elven plate mail, Lighting boots, Ring of stone, Neckless of stone. and if your useing Trinity, there are a few better alternatives.

As Stark Bledfast said, get plenty of filters of healing. Then if the guardian his you realy hard, take two filters at once, so you gain full health and if he hits you again right after, the filters may still be healing you.

    • Well........
After several honest tries I fought my way back out, that took a few times too.
Now, I'm wandering in the wilderness, making change to buy better gear and potions.
I think I got in too much hurry after getting the shield made.
Something else, I have yet to see any new or wandering vendors.
I'm using Ranger mode with the Trinity plug in.
      Thanks for the advice.

    • I've always found the wandering salesman on the road between Fantrima and Berglum(yeah,
thats a lot of road, but somewhere in there he is to be found). The 2 most common
places that I have found him have been the screen 2 north of Fantrima(that has the
long rope bridge and the cave where you find Mary Kristina's harp) and the screen
1 west of Gwynden Camp(the camp itself, not the tunnel). If you hang around those 2
screens you will generally find him before long. I've gone back and forth between
screens before(ie, on the screen 1 west of Gwynden Camp I will go back and forth between
that screen and the Gwynden Camp screen several times until the salesman "shows up.").
When the salesman is present on the screen everything will freeze and you will get
a dialogue box saying you hear whistling, followed by the screen panning to where he
      is wandering.

As a ranger I would recommend getting yourself a pair of wolfclaws and equipping a
lilith shield to complement the other armors that your character has. If you really
like bows then get yourself either the Great Bow of Destruction(found in a cave) or
the Great Bow of ... ugh, Yaro maybe? The later great bow can be purchased in
Nohrga village for a hefty sum but it is worth it.

      Good luck.

    • So your a ranger, then wolfclaws definitely, they'll make mince meat outa that guardian.

    • The easy way to do it is get your character up to the level where the Guardian runs away from you. 😛

Done deal, my ranger: Feanor, managed to trounce the big guy. Using advice from all who posted, thanks.
It was still a thrill pulling it off.
