The Federation fleet in Vastan, after hours of battling the Ediens, finally captured the system, and shortly thereafter captured the planet. Though the offensive was going good, however, it was going too slow. The Ediens, though they lost space, never really weakened.

To combat this, the Federation began to set up raids and minor attacks as work on their classified project neared completion. Still no one knew what technology was being researched, but one word had leaked out...

Abord the Savior, Psack was contemplating the view of the thousands of starts hanging around him. The trilateral convoy was heading to Horoth space at the maximum speed of the Savior so that the Horosk would face during a smaller amount of time the presence of the other inhabitants of the two galaxies. Psack was not sure of the suddent change in Thorin's mind to accept to travel to Horath instead of returning to Horosk space in the Andromeda galaxy. Another meeting had been sceduled, until then, only sparce encounter would occur, the Horosk being in there own vessels.

The first altercation between any ennemy outside of the Milky Way had occured twelve hours ago, when patrolling a squadron of fighters encountered pirates north-east of Horoth space. The three Pirate arada were probably looking for merchant vessels, since when they got had the opportunity to escaped. So this what they did, since the squadron had not enough time to engage them.

A major Navy exercice was undergoing in Grenits in conjonction with the newly created Sladerei Solidarity Non Navy Forces (S.S.N.N.F.). The Navy simulated an invading fleet, composed of the Second Armada and the Fourth Armada and the S.S.N.N.F. had to defend Grenits, the Station and the one in construction. The results had been probant for the new force, its adaptability had been one of its best advantage in defending critical locations and intercepting some of the transporters. The Fourth Armada lacked experience and number to defend the three major points, it failed protecting the Solidarity. The lessons learned were the ordinary one:

Grenits system...

As the Sladerei regrouped from their latest training excercies, suddenly, a Federation frigate in the system sent out an emergy transmission to the Sladerei.

"All Sladerei vessels, red alert! Edien warships inbound at vector 12.490! Charge your weapons! All hands to battlestations!"

The Sladerei scrambled their vessels as twenty nine Edien vessels, mostly destroyers and battlecruisers, jumped into the system. To the inexperienced, 29 ships was nothing. To experienced fighters like the Voinians and Federation, 29 ships was deadly. After all, only 200 Edien warships had engaged the whole Northern Crescent during the first invasion, which was home to the North Tip Renegades - one of the most powerful governments in that area. Only 50 ships had layed waste to a large fleet in Dirach. Only 31 ships had devastated 100 Zidagar vessels and the Kisani race when they attacked their homeworld. And the Sladerei were not technilogically advanced, which made them extremely vulnerable to even a mere 29 ships.

The Ediens charged before the Sladerei could even lock their targetting scanners on them. A barrage of quantum torpedoes annihilated the first wave of Sladerei interceptors and fighters as 4 battlecruisers tried to flank the Sladerei on either side.

A Sladerei Destroyer went down from repeated hits as the two sides met in a terrific exchange of fire. The fleets regrouped, then charged again, the Sladerei obviously tanking the brunt of it all...

Akrehac system...

"Open fire!"

"All strike wings, engage enemy targets!"

"Commander Vrall to fleet; all hands to battlestations!!"

A wave of Kayan fireflies charged the Pirate reef formation, and was once again torn to pieces by a hail of turbophase fire. What the Pirates didn't know was that the Kayans were moving around their rift flank, attempting to catch them from behind.

It was now that the Pirates made their move.

Their rift wing turned tail and ran straight into the end section of the Kayan fleet, pushing the Kayans move towards the center of the Pirate fleet. The left flank did the same, and then the right and left met, and the Kayans were trapped in a ring of Pirate vessels.

The Kayan commander, Commander Vrall, knew how to handle such a situation. "Fighter wings A-D, distract the Pirates! Omega pattern! All other ships, follow me!"

As Fireflies drew enemy fire, the Kayan fleet grouped together and charged the area between the center of the line and the original right flank, which was weakest. Blasting through the Pirate line, taking heavy casualties along the way, Vrall knew the Kayan fleet was too weak to stand up to the 350 attacking Pirates.

But he was saved as another 150 ships jumped in.

There was now 250 Kayan ships to 350 Pirate ships.

The two sides charged each other in the second major battle of the same day...

Antneb system...

As wings of Azgara bombers moved around the system, suddenly, a battlegroup of 75 Pirate aradas jumped in, loaded with space bombs and rockets.

The Azdgari were caught off guard, and not even they were swift enough to stop the Pirates as the Arada bombers charged towards the shipyards and fuel depots. Antneb was a major shipyard facility, and had 4 shipyard stations, and 3 fuel depots.

The Pirate assault was devastating. Space bombs and rockets flew into the shipyards, causing massive havoc. As a stray rocket hit one of the fuel depots, the explosion caused the whole area to look like hell.

After the Pirates were done, all the fuel depots had been destroyed, and only 1 shipyard remained intact. Nearly 150 warships and fighters had been destroyed in the surprise attack.

Screaming for revenge, the Azdgari reformed and charged the fleeing aradas, slaughtering dozens of them before 250 Pirate warships jumped into the system, destroying 50 Azdgari fighters and arads in three seconds.

The Azdgari now charged with their warships and bombers, causing the whole system to be lit up by massive explosions, bursts of light, and heavy warship firefights. It was as if a supernova was going on.

The battle raged and raged, with no end in site, but the Azdgari were obviously getting hit bad. Forming together, the Azdgari turned tail and ran for their lives, with the Pirates hot on their tail.

The Azdgari jumped into DSN-712, engaged in a small firefight which just cost them more casualties and an asteroid base, and then jumped out towards DSN-711, where they decided to make their stand.

As the Pirates jumped in, reinforced by another 200 ships, the Azdgari knew they were outgunned, but they simply couldn't let the Pirates get to Deneba. However, the outcome was inevitable; the Pirates destroyed the remnants of the Azdgari fleet, then jumped out towards Deneba.

Jumping into the system, they found the Rune and a fleet of 200 Azdgari warships to the Pirate fleet of 400 vessels. As the two sides charged, a lone arada wandered off towards the sub-space rift entrance.

As sub-space strained under the massive firefight raging in normal space between two military behemoths, the Rune was ambushed by a fighter wing of aradas, loading with space bombs. The old Voinian weapons floated towards the Rune supercruiser, then detonated, tearing gaping holes in its armor. Emporer Tasina was killed in the blast.

And during this, that lone arada entered the sub-space rift...

...And was swept along instantly through a swirling blue rift. As the Pirates marvelled at the site, they failed to notice 50 some unusual energy signatures approaching them. When they did notice, it was too late, and the Arada was mysteriously vaporized by a lone sub-space torpedo from an unknown ship...

And during this time, other 30 billion people lived on peacefully, not knowing that on the same day, in two different galaxies, in three different systems, three different races were fighting for survival against the forces of evil...

OOC: Please forgive my recent abscence - it's been a busy two weeks

The investigation of the disappearance of the Emerald continued, Kayan and Horoth working together to scan the rift - hoping to find out what had happened - and where the Emerald had ended up. For the most part it was routine - several dozen science vessels and escort ships running scans, sending in scouts, watching scouts return. Kan Skyari, the scientest in charge of the Kayan contingent, was in his room puzzling over a set of subspace signatures when an odd image alarm bells sounded.

Qyickly he picked up his communicator and radioed to the bridge of his ship, the Kayan Science Vessel Revelation. "What's going on?"

"Unscheduled arrival - There's a vessel coming out of the rift - and none is scheduled to come through for another twenty minutes."

"What kind of ship?" Skyari asked.

"We can't tell - it's emitting some strange energy signatures. Whatever it is, it's badly damaged."

"What about the crew?"

"We can't be sure, but we think there is one lifeform alive on the ship - probably the lone survivor."

Skyari dropped what he was doing, rushing out the door and toward the elevator shaft, and from there to the bridge. As he watched, a small ship emerged from the rift, spewing sparks and smoke. It was missing a stabilizer fin and the hull was charred over most of it's surface, but upon close inspection the design was recognizable: it was - or more accurately, had been - a Kayan Firefly. "That ship was one of ours! Send a rescue team now!"

The rescue team rushed foward in an arada filled with medical supplies and lifesaving equipment. The team had been on hand throughout teh entire investigation in case of a scenerio like this - their rescue training would be vital in saving the pilot of the vessel, if he could be saved. As the arada attempted to dock with the charred firefly, they found the hatch fused shut. Acting quickly, they initiated a soft-dock procedure and began cutting through the hull with arc lasers.

Smoke billowed into what remained of the cockpit of the firefly as the arc lasers began to wear a hole into the blackened hull of the ship. As the rescuers continued, light could be seen shining through the hole they were drilling - and finally an entire piece of the bulkhead crumbled away, allowing two rescuers to enter the cockpits, armed with high powered flashlights and atmospheric purifiers - an advanced form of gas mask.

The cockpit was a mess - debris was strewn throughout the area, and a thin layer of ash covered the floor. Obviously there had been a fire - perhaps even an explosion of some sort. One of the rescuers shouted as he found a comatose Kayan woman slumped against a console on the far side of the room. There was less debris here - a sign she had tried to take shelter.

"Is she alive?"

"Yes, but barely. She's suffered heavy burns, both electrical and heat induced. She needs to be transported to a medical vessel - immediately."

As a medical vessel was dispatched to the scene, two more rescuers entered through the makeshift hatch that had been cut into the wall of the cockpit, carrying a stretcher. They walked over to the comatose scientist, and began the procedure of moving her carefully onto the stretcher and strapping her in.

"As soon as she's safe," the lead rescuer ordered, "start looking for the flight data recorder. We need know what happened to this ship."

As the battle in Akrehac continued, the Kayans regrouped, falling back around a perimeter of defense drones, and letting loose a barrage of SAI modules, Enhanced Defense Pods, and Pursuit Missiles. The pirates moved to evade the attack, and though their quicker ships did so, their slower warships were caught by the wave of Kayan ordinance. Ten ships were destroyed, and quite a few others were badly damaged. Taking advantage of the situation, a wave of the faster Kayan ships, mostly aradas and fireflies, moved forward to engage the pirate fighters.

Now that the Kayan Militia was armed with Turbophase technology as well, their fireflies were finally a force to be feared. They had some power to back up their sheer speed and maneuverability - a good match against the slower but more heavily armed Pirate fighters. The fireflies began strafing runs, using attrition tactics to take advntage of their superior speed and shield recharge.

The entire Kayan effort was backed up by a continual stream of long range weapons flowing out from the defense drones surrounding the planetary system - the Kayans were not an offensive force, but defense was their strong point, and they were using their defensive strength to it's full advantage.

Aboard the Gunship K.A.S. Savior, a Militia officer made a call for help to the surrounding Kayan systems. "Launch freighters," he said, "And fill the cargo bays with any defense drones you can spare. Send them to my coordinates - and have plenty of escape pods ready!"

As soon as that message was sent, he sent off a quick message to the RA and Horoth.

Three minutes after the initial launcher of quantum torpedoes, the stellar defence mecanism started to fire at Edien warships. The four hundred space-farms equiped with two Tachyu-kinetic turrets orbitting in the system started to tract down Edien ships.

Abord the Station, the Admiral Zitril made his final speech as he entered his fighter:
ŤAt my signal misters, Shall we kick Edien Ťbip! bip!ť asŤbip!ť. GOOOOO!!!ť

The Station vibrated a bit as the Fifth Armada exited from its docks at the same time. The Collision formation would be use for the first time in war time. The C was used with the AMKS which permitted to wall the front of a squadron with shields. In tight formation, the squad was much more resistant to Edien torpedoes and anti-protons weaponery.

The Fifth Armada could do nine C of fighters and four of destroyers, the Frigates were not maneuvrable enough to do this formation. As the Fifth engage the Edien invasion. The Sixth was preparing on Grenits's eight cities, where it had landed to the nearest base to ream itself. Their tactics would de different for the fighters attacking the fast Edien interceptors. They would use the Nail (N) formation. The N formation consited to follow the ennemy in line of four fighters which were backed by four other in a vertical square type of formation. It looked like a nail... The first four influenced the behavior of the Edien interceptor, while the last four attacked the intercptor when possible.

In less than fifteen, minutes, the First and Second Armada would come in the battle, since they were now being equiped with torpedoes.

When they arrived with two walls of torpedoes preceding them , they we obfucated to see that the Edien ships were remaining in Grenits. If one of them had to stay, it would be in the museum of horors in Sladeria...

The Sladerei Solidairty is now under the invasion of and Edien fleet. Most of them have been destoyed, but our navy is even more destroyed. We will not be able to defend ourself if another attack occurs. The Solidarity needs help, and this help would come from a military presence in Grenits , until the return of the S.S.S. Savior.

An hour later, the battle was still raging: from the twenty fighter squads in the battle at the beginning, four were remaining; from the fourteen squads of destroyers, five were still in place, and from the ten squads of frigates, three werre still around grenits. A destroyer was left with five interceptors, they would be killed in the ten minutes, as well as two squadrons of fighters and one of frigates.

Not a words came out from the mouth or any other orifice that emits sounds.

-The dilemma is the following: the Savior is needed in Grenits, but it is in Mavs now. Either it continues with you, Commander Thorin and RMA or it goes back to Grenits. Or I could suggest that the small Horosk fleet comes with the Savior to blur the Edien, that will think that you, Commander Thorin, have the worm-hole generator and can land anywhere in the universe... The decision has to be made quickly.

In the Solidariy ambassy of Horath, the mood was not at its best. From the Solidarity-Council, the order had came to bring back to Grenits all Sladerei military vessels. The Fourth S.S.A. would leave Horoth space and the same would happen to the Third S.S.A. in Rigel that had arrived only three weeeks ago. Their mission of tempering had been succeful, their addition to the military presence seemed to had calmed a bit the pirates. But nothing is certain in the Large Mellanic Cloud. In two post the S.S.A. would have reached Grenits at full speed, afterburner would be black from emitting X-rays when arriving in the home system.

This battle was a strange one, how come the Edien forces could have passed over the Voinian territory without being detect. How could two weeks after losing Kelmaon, the Edien be able to fly over at least two Voinian planets without being seen. Plus, the patrol made by the both the Soliradity and the Voininans should have prevented this. But, what if the Voinians had sent a message preventing the Solidarity? A little inquery would have to be done, in order to know if this could have been prevented with better bilateral relations...

It was also the time to decid how would the Solidarity act during upcoming confrontation with other nations. Now, was the time to decide if the Havoc should be surrounded by other new ships. The Solidarity-Council had decided that it would be backed by a new ship, the S.S.S. Corvette-class warship. Essentially a new version of the destroyer, but smaller and faster. This appelation also indicated what would come in the future... The corvette would be seen in nine posts, a fast rate since most of the technology was already develloped.

The rebuilt of the S.S.N. was imminent: the Station would serve as the main shipyard for Destoyers and Frigates and the other factories on Grenits would produce the small Havoc that would challenge any ennemy. The Third and Fourth S.S.A. would arrive soon and defend the nation, while in three posts, the first half of the Eighth Armada would be completed with the new Havoc. The remaining warriors from the Firt, Second, Fifth and Sixth S.S.A. would be combined in the Seventh Armada. Those mentioned before would be kept in history.

An hour of mourning had been preserved before the military reconstruction of the Sladerei nation. After, the good-naturedness took over the minds of all Sladerei as they worked for the pride and accomplishment of their future.

As the S.S.S. Savior entered Grenits system, many vessels were under red alert. The Edien menace had came true, in strange conditions...
(OCC: Are the Horosk four ships following the Savior or going to Horoth space with the H.M.S. RavenShadow?)

Those which had not been destroyed by the attack were under repairation and patrolling. The Fourth and Third fleet had were already in the Milky Way, they had been able to pass before the others in line, because of the importance of their presence in Grenits. Next post, they would arrive and get their systems upgraded to be fitted with the IME and have the needed repairs from this long and rapid trip.

-How many ships do we have to defend ourself against an invisible ennemy.

- Precisly, four full squadrons of fighters are ready, one more could be used tomorrow since it is under reconstruction. The destroyers squads are numbered at four and the frigates squads ar two.

- Alright, this means 68 ships that can be used. Don't forget the 56 fighters abord the Savior. And what is going on with teh Havoc? Should it not be under production?

-Mister Psack, the factories have started just beofre the attack and few of them will be used in the next combats. The pilots aren't used to such level of maneuvrability: they can do what they want with it, its fabulous...

-When will the first squad of Havoc will be ready, I want the Solidarity to be ready to face a comparable attack in less than three weeks. The men in place will teach to the Third and Fourth what they have seen against the Edien as soon as possible.

Not even letting the other members answer his questions, Psack left the room and went directly to the dock 6. A shuttle was waiting for him. It took the direction of the research labs of Sladeria. There he would meet the scientists working on the corvette.

There, he met an old friend, Ra Huddofler:

- You want to fly it? You are too old, even I cannot, the acceleration forces could knock any of us. The pilots have to train more than usual to pilot the new fighter. One thing I can tell you are the stats, but shut your mouth.

- It takes the same volume as the older one, but is really better. Six Tachy-kinetic guns. The ship is powered by two multi-kinetic motors, that can be reverse thrust in one tenth of a second. The maneuvrability is insured by using ten kinetic thrusters. Thses ten motors can allow movement in all direction and the most important part of the IME: the nose-following-target-while-changing-course. The shields are still low, compared to any other fighter, 35, but the AMKS can boost them to 60 to face a torpedo or to 52 when under turret fire. And for the first time in the recent Solidarity history, a fighter has an armor, 10 and his equiped with a miniaturized version of the armor regenerator.

The Horosk will just follow whichever ship continues to Horoth space. And I doubt your Savior could get back in time to do anything in Grenits.

And what is this Havoc thing?

And finally, Grundy, as far as I know, the Tro'meed is in Zidagar space somewhere, too far away from Grenits to do anything, but I may be wrong. Also, it's the Styx Bomber, and Orc Battleship.

The battle between the Ediens and Sladerei raged on. The Sladerei fighters, even in formation, were no match for the Edien interceptors. No ship could possibly match the firepower of Edien cruisers, and Edien destroyers wreaked havoc wherever they went.

As the Sladerei were blasted back and took heavy casualties, suddenly, the Voinian dreadnaught V.E.S. Hellhound, commanded by Admiral Nahar, jumped into the system.

The Sladerei cheered at the sight of the massive vessel, and together the Voinians and Sladerei charged the stunned Ediens. The massive dreadnaught easily blew apart ship after ship as it rampaged through the battlefield. Soon, the Edien fleet was destroyed, and the Dreadnaught was having some minor repairs done in the Sladerei shipyards.

The only problem was the fact that the Sladerei felt nervous with nearly 2,000 Voinian soldiers on leave from the Hellhound visited the colony...

1. The Havoc, the new S.S.S., has been developped since december first,quoting myself:

The designed had to be light to fit into the Frigates's bays and to respect certain stealth parameters. Its speed would be a bit slower than the one of the Firefly. Its new flight capacities would make its as leathal as a Federation Azdara. ť

2. How could the Edien pas through the three system without being detected by either the S.S. or the V.E. during, I suppose, at least, no, more than six days; the time to jump. Don't say administrative errors, I greatly dislike those, even more in the real world...

3. Pardon me for being messy, the lack of time gave me less and less seconds to write during the exam period. Though thing might not change, I won't be at home many times.

4)What does j/k means, joke?

5)I'll edit on sunday the post, so it makes sense with the dreadnought's implication, and the Savior's surpercruising speed.

Okay, but your technology isn't advanced enough to make it to par with the Fed Azdara. Close, by the Fed is better.

They jump faster than the Feds do. They only take 4 hours, and a large fleet was also attacking, which distracted the fleets, and allowed the Ediens to slip through.

Supercruisers actually hyperspace 1 hour slower than normal warships and cruisers. The average jump time for the Feds is 4-6 hours. The average jump time for the Sladerei WAS 2 days, but the Feds supplied them with slipstream drive engines.

The battle between the Azdgari and Pirates raged and raged as the Azdgari were hurt more and more badly. It looked as if all was lost for the Azdgari, but little did they know what was to happen next...

WIthout warning, three Federation battlecruisers jumped into the system and opened fire on the Pirate vessels. They had been dispatched from the Milky Way side after the Federation had detected an Azdgari distress call.

Any Pirate nearby was instantly vaporized and as the rest of the fleet tried to combat the three new, massive warships, the Azdgari regrouped and hit the Pirates hard.

The battle raged on, but clearly in the Federations and Azdgaris favor. Soon, the Pirates retreated, and the Federate battlecruisers stayed in Deneba to guard the Azdgari capitol while the Azdgari repaired their bases elsewhere.

Though the Pirates had, in the beginning, seemed deadly, they were slowly being proved that they were not invincible.

The Pirates regrouped against the Kayans, then simply charged, launching SAI Modules and dozens and dozens of new Enhanced Pursuit Missiles.

The Kayans were hit hard, but instantly retaliated with an equally powerful wave of SAIs, SADs, Pursuit Missiles, and Dispersal rockets. The whole first wave was blasted apart, but then came the second wave, which tore through the Kayan line with Enhanced Thoron Beams and Turbophase Weaponry.

The Kayans struggled to regroup, but the Pirates wouldn't let them, and gave the Kayans heavy losses until they ventured too close to a group of defense drones.

After loosing a dozen or more ships to the drones beforing taking them out, the Pirates then, once again, attacked the now regrouped Kayan fleet...

As the Kayans investigated the Kayan Firefly that had come nearly blasted apart through the sub-space rift, a Federation Battlecruiser arrived on the scene. It didn't answer to hails, it just stood there, scanning the arada, looking rather mysterious and threatening to some scientists.

As the Devastator Project neared its end, the Federation had now assembled three new fleets along with the Voinians. A Voinian fleet had been assembled near Miranu space, and was preparing to assault the nearby Edien base of Tmidor. The Federation were also preparing for their own assault, as their fleets in Vastan and Gadzair readied to attack Terapin and Saffera. The fleet in Terapin was just a diversion to draw away ships from Saffera. Saffera was the real target.

The fleets would soon strike, for Carnotaur still knew that the Ediens were a threat, and they had to get rid of them.

As the pirates began to press their advantage against the struggling Kayan fleet, the tide of the battle turned. Flashes of light lit up the system as multiple jump points opened up behind the two battling fleets. The RA reinforcements RedChigh had sent had finally arrived, 120 ships strong. Now the Pirates were outnumbered. Screaming in at full speed, the RA fleet caught the Pirate vessels between themselves and the Kayan fleet. Caught in a crossfire, the Pirate vessels were hit hard as they scrambled to regroup and escape the fire coming in from all sides.

Now forced to divide their attention between the RA and the Kayans, the Pirates had their hands full fighting a two front battle. They managed to retroup, taking up a defensive position in preperation for a counter-attack. That's when more reinforcements arrived. Fifteen Kayan freighters entered the system; the freighters the captain of the K.A.S. Savior had called for. The Pirates paid them little attention, already being under heavy fire from Kayan and RA ships. Quickly the freighters opened their cargo holds, releasing a total of nearly five dozen defense drones into the field of battle.

Defense drones were incapable of movement, but there were so many targets around that they didn't need to. Immediately the defense drones went to work, opening fire with every missile, enhanced defense pod, SAI module, and turret they had. Meanwhile, the freighters that had carried them to battle quickly hypered out of the system, setting a course for safer territory.

The pirates were now outnumbered nearly 3 to 2, and their ships were beginning to show the effects of battle, unlike the fresh RA and Defense Drone reinforcements.
