Ugh, it's finally done. I've been working on this project long before Ares: Override was announced...

As the title implies, Cold Fusion serves the same purpose as MAGMA. Only it lacks some of the extreme style some of us weren't too fond of and modifies the original Override 3D game models.

Cold Fusion currently isn't available at the EVO addons page yet (it should be within a few days). In the meantime you can always download it off Dreamwave's server instead.

Yup, it's an OS 9 icon. And logically so since that's exactly what Override was made for. But I'll probably use one compatible for both operating systems in future releases, just for the heck of pleasing thee.

Nice work on the plug fellow Captain,
I seem to be in a bit of a bother you see Cold Fusion won't work! I downloaded Override 1.0.2 again and restarted my computer in OS9 but it wouldn't load the Plug-In. Yes i haven't got any other Plug-In installed so i don't know what to do! any help would be great as i really want to see what this plug has got.

Hrm, have you read the Read-Me file? Usually when a plug will not load or the game quits during start-up, it's due to insufficient memory. I always run Override off 24000k at the minimum (and that works fine for Cold Fusion).

Also, other plugs shouldn't conflict with CF unless they too enhance graphics.

ESPilot: Ack, my numbers ain't big anymore... there's others who have my beat now (which I'm more than happy with :p).

Skyblade- congrats. You've accomplished something really, really cool. I'm amazed no one did this before now, but I'm glad it was done right. Your renderings really do the ship designs so much credit. Unless they've already redone the graphics for the official EVO port, I'd ask andrew to see if he was interested in including those instead of the original graphical set. You'd have a hard time getting paid anything for any of them besides the landscapes, but it would certainly improve the game ten fold.

I also am surprised nobody picked up the effort to re-render the Override game models years ago. It was needed long before now.

Yes, several folks from the Override / Nova forums have continued to bug me about requesting the use of Cold Fusion's game remods in the Override port to Nova. I for one wouldn't have any problem if Ambrosia is looking for updated graphics (and yet the same game models)... I'd be honored to have Cold Fusion's artwork as the host.

And heck, I never ask for a dime unless I'm starving on the streets (which hasn't happened so far, fortunately ;)). Plus Cold Fusion's landscapes were made by a variety of artists... myself, Ragashingo and Slav. Therefore I don't have rights to all of Cold Fusion's landscape graphics.

Thanks for your input. Now to play around with the Cold Fusion for EV idea...

I am including several new vessels and weapons, and I would be greatly honored if you would be as gracious to create some models for me- your artwork appears to be of the highest caliber. Heh, I should have said something about this earlier. You of all people know of my busy schedule.

@folks requesting artwork: At the moment I am unable to do any custom graphics or plugin projects. The ones I'm currently involved with have me occupied enough as it is, and unfortunately summer doesn't have 48 hours a day like I wish it did. If I do start working with any additional projects, Dreamwave would probably die and its future plugs with it.

I can only take on jobs that pay. Considering I might lose my internet connection soon if I can't start bringing in some type of income to pay for it, I'm not left with much choice. Your best bet at finding any plug resources from me are at the plug resource galore itself.

I understand. As development is still in the earlier stages, I wouldn't have needed the models for maybe three or four months anyways.

As for need of money...I'd be willing to consider and negotiate (if you're interested and have time in the future).
