1: Once battles begin in Ares, they spread out rapidly (especially when fighters with speed such as the Azdara are involved). In that second screenshot you can't see half of the battle, so there are many more ships involved than the single visible Zidara. Besides, the player is permitted to buy Zidagar Fighters directly - he doesn't have to buy Zidaras to get extra fighters.
2: Yeah, my mistake. It's suppost to say Azdara vs. Zidagar Fighter. That small explosian is the blast remains of another Azdara. It was unfortunately butchered by the Zidagar Fighter's beamer.
3: The Azdaras are about the size we want them to be. One thing I never liked about Override was that it failed to give any visible scale between fighters and warships. That won't be a problem in AO - the Igazra uses 250x250 frames, and 300x300 for the Dreadnought. There will be an obvious difference between small attack craft and warships.
4: Indeed, that screenshot turned out very well. That was one of the bigger battles Raga and I performed, and the Zidagar ended up winning after spending a good deal of time killing Azdaras. We also tested two Zidaras and two Azdgari Warships against each other (including fighters), and the Azdgari actually won. We've managed to give these two races a good, equal balance.
