    • Nope. Specops said that he annexed the planet, built a shipyard on it, and said that the inhabitants were psychics. I don't want any bloody shipyard on my planet, even if it does get dississembled, and I don't want my people to by psychics. And the very fact that these people made contact with the Emalgha and that they had to negotiate to make them leave screws up my storyline which involves having them made no contact with any race outside their planet.

I also don't see why the planet is such a bit part of Specops story and why that actually means anything in the sequel. Specops isn't even playing in the sequel. It would make perfect sense just to say that they annexed another planet, which they then built a shipyard on and found these psychics.

You aren't making things very easy for me :). If there isn't any way for us to preserve the storyline from the last EoD I'll be fine with just ignoring that part somehow. But first I want to see if we can't find some way, any way, to get both.

Well, it was... you just have to have read it I guess. The whole deal would be of pretty big importance to the Emalgha of the sequel.

Except that they did annex another planet. They annexed all of the other planets they came across! And it wouldn't make sense to skip one, unless they couldn't see it somehow.

Which brings me to my next idea: Would it be possible for us to create a second planet, hidden somehow during EoD, in that system? Say, invent some kind of sensor disturbance, or ion storm, or something that keeps you hidden from the rest of the galaxy? I mean, it seems like this would be best anyway, you get a planet where you want it, the story remains uncorrupted... and you don't have to deal with the question of why your little species was passed over during all the binges of exploration. Plus you don't have to worry about someone coming along and nuking your planet until you are ready to reveal yourself.

    • Urgh. None of you people seem to understand that I am not going to change my mind about this. I will get that planet, or I don't play. Period.

As for your latest idea: No. I'm not taking any other planet.

And as for your argument about it not being logical to annex the planet: 1) they might not have had enough time/resources/money, 2) Alien Rights Activists didn't want them to annex too many races, and 3) the planet was already developed enough so that all the resources were being used by the aliens.

Personally, I like the idea that Emalgha Alien Rights Activists (supported by the Miranu) complained that the Emalgha were annexing too many planets, and that they wanted to leave this planet alone.

If it can't be important for the Emalgha, why can it be important for you? I'm just curious as to why you feel you need it so badly when you're saying it's not important that the Emalgha should have it. Not trying to get on anybody's bad side or anything.

    • Kauthor: That was pretty rude of you there.

Carno: I think that you're being a little too picky. Why do you only want that one planet?

Umm, that wasn't a decision, it was a suggestion. If Carno is dead set on not compromising than I guess there isn't much else we can do. Maybe I am just too concerned with preserving the storyline.

Can we say that the Emalgha colonized a different planet in the same system and left that one untouched? That way you get that planet and the story has minimal problems? If not I guess it's fine to do what you said.

    • I have my own reasons for wanting that planet, one of which is storyline. And yes, I think it is more important for me to get the planet than the Emalgha. To the Emalgha, it's just another planet. To me, it's the base and center of my entire government.

However, I believe I have come up with an idea to settle this. I came up with it when I thought of Ipvicus's suggestion that I make a new planet which was hidden by interference/ion storms/whatever. Instead of saying that a new planet which I would use was hidden, why not say that the planet that I want to use was hidden by some ion storms which appeared before the Emalgha started annexing all these planets. The Emalgha searched the system, didn't find anything, and left. But then they found another previously unheard of planet in some other system, which they annexed, built a shipyard on, and on which they found a race of psychics. Now, just recently, my planet has been once again revealed as the ion storms (or whatever) moved on. How does that sound?

EDIT: I'd also like to admit that I was a tad overly stubborn recently, and I'm sorry about that.

    • I won't really know until I see the map. Preferably it wouldn't be very close to my planet. I don't want myself too crowded. šŸ˜‰

    • Okay. Is this issue finally resolved now? I mean, why is it so damn important to have this one specific planet? Does it have some mystical F-25 likeness to it?

And have we decided on a start date?

    • When everyone (EVERYONE) is ready and willing to start the web story, that is when we will start. Vice Admiral Ipvicus is going camping next week. So we will have a meeting the Monday after next Monday at seven o clock.

    • "7 o'clock" ??

      Eastern? Pacific? GMT?

Be warned, if that is Pacific, I may not be able to be there.
