I am trying to play this F-25 plug in. I completed all the central objectives, am out of voinian space and all that, but I dont think it is working. I tried both the planet F-25 and Station Pybin to look for the start of the mission, but have not found it. I downloaded it, expanded the plug in, and then put it in the plug-ins folder. When I run the game it seems like nothing is there. I also tried to open the provided pilot, but then the game came up with this error message saying something like that the pilot was not created with this version or somewhere along those lines. Any suggestions, I searched for the answer, but didn't find anything. Thank you.

Judging by the error message you got, try checking which version of EVO you are using. Usually you will be alright if you use the most recent version. Other than that, I have no idea how to help you.

Alright, I got the plug-in to work now, but as I have begun to explore the new galaxy there arent any pictures of ships or things in the outfit section. the few ships that do appear look surprisingly like voinian ships, but other ships are just invisible. Is there a plug in that will fix this? I dont know if it makes a difference, but I have been using an existing pilot file cause the new one didn't work.

There must be a file missing. Do you have a file called "F-25 Graphics?" It sounds like somehow you've managed to lose that entirely, since there should be no Voinians in the new galaxy. All of their graphics and data have been written over for the new scenario..

Hey Bomb! Long time no see, huh? Lemme tell ya, I tried time and again to get the plug to work, all to no avail! Yes, I used the pilot that came with it... Had that same problem (each time) when told to lead the cargo ships to Aenecia: We get there, but they never land, also, my cargo doesn't get offloaded until after I get to Munb. Also, after Aenecia is attacked, I go there, and it's as if nothing had ever happened...business as usual. I check out Mira...no problems...when I check the mission computer, all I get is the "There are no missions here" message. Unless something's been done to fix these things by now, I guess I'll just have to trash it. It looks to be a very interesting plug (right up there with EV's Empire series), but with all the problems I've had with it, I've just quit playing it.

Try 1.02. I had problems with Aenecia being uninhabitated after pilot being builded with Pilot File Builder before I upgraded. If it still doesnt work, send your pilot to to Bomb to be doctored. Thats what he said he could to me too before it got fixed.

Your name sounds familiar, Ace.. Were you on the old boards? Or maybe Blazer's? I don't have a great memory, and I've been around the community about five years now, so everyone starts to blur together..

As for F-25, have you tried using EVO 1.0.2? Also, be sure to grab F-25 v.2.0 and any little updater patches. F-25 1.4 had some pretty serious issues, but 2.0 is solid top to bottom. Best thing is, you only have to download the big 2.0 file.. 1.4 is now pretty well worthless.

If you're not already planning to, stick around the board.. as I told Jim, we need some more lively discussion going on here..

Oh, yeah, I used to hang around here alot. My last post was waaaayy back in August of 2002! I've been using EVO 1.0.2 and F-25 v.2.0. Nope! I haven't d/l'ed any updaters or patches. I would see about getting those if I knew where to find 'em. Everyone starts to blur together, huh? Actually all of us have blurred together into one giant user! Thanks for the suggestion, General! Say, how'd you get to be a General and me just a Captain? I am using 1.0.2 and F-25 v.2.0. I may just have to do as you suggested and send my pilot file in to Bomb to be worked on. Unfortunately, F-25 is not the only plug I'm having trouble with. Such is life.

HA HA! That was funny- it made me smile. Now that you mention it, I shall explain you it. When I first joined the boards (and I would never had if I didnt had a problem with EV which I couldnt figure out myself), I couldnt think of any good nickname. So I took a Nova reference and named myself after the general who was the only that could save the Feds from destruction by Aurorans. Its honorable. Tell me how a pilot gets modified and the result after its done- im curious! And its sad if you are having problems with other plugs too.

Good Morning, General! Good story! Well, since you told me how you got your name, I'll do the same for you (and anyone else)! Several years ago I started playing EV and EVO. Since you either have to come up with a name for your pilot or use one provided, I chose "Ace" because I had already destroyed five ships (I'm guessing five is/would still be the standard for naming someone an "Ace"). Also, since this is a computer game, and I needed a "heroic"-sounding last name, I chose "Harddrive." I went all through the computer: "Ace Motherboard," "Ace Monitor," "Ace CDRomDrive"...until I hit upon "Ace Harddrive!." It's computer-related and heroic-sounding at the same time! Even though I'm not in any of the "armed services," I still chose to use "Capt" since I am the captain of my own ship! Okay, story time over! As for modifying a pilot file, you'll have to ask Bomb about that, as I'm not entirely sure myself! BTW: If you go to a search engine (I like Google) and type in either "CaptAceHarddrive," "AceHarddrive," or "Ace Harddrive," you'll find me just about anywhere, since I use the name EVERYWHERE! Yes, it is sad that I'm having trouble with other plugs. I wonder if it could be because I'm playing my games on an emulated PC instead of a mac? I haven't had any problems with any of the EV plugins, though!

Hey Bomb! Where do I get updates/patches? If those don't do the trick, how do you want me to do the Pilot File? Do you want me to play it until I come to the first problem (leading cargo ships to Aenecia) or until I can't play it anymore (Aenecia being attacked, but no problems when I show up)? Also, you want me to zip up the file and e-mail it to you?

Unfortunately, I think your problems may be due to emulation. I'm not too sure, since I haven't done too much with it. To better help you, I'd need to be able to replicate your emulation (I'm on a PC as well) and then get into the game. I've always heard a lot about various problems with EVO on PCs, and more specifically, problems with plug-ins not working properly.

How do you propose to replicate my emulation? And it's only certain plugs I had problems with (F-25, Beyond the Crescent, others), while some I had not problems with at all (ROTUE...)!
