    • South Tip Conclave

Varian blinked as Tyrakiur explained the situation, but his mind worked quickly. They hadn't even finalised an alliance, and the League were already asking their military aid in going to war with the Azdgari. The situation at first seemed genuine, but Varian was on his guard.

"Tell me, Tyrakiur, what assurances does the Conclave have that what you have told me is correct? Our own sensors have been monitoring Motif for some time, and now, Afen. We know very well of the Azdgari fleet in the system, and we also have logs of you moving in to "liberate" Motif... with armed forces, I understand. You'll have to forgive some suspicion on my part, but already you are asking us to declare war on the Azdgari, after we have told you that we will not see this done?"

"Rest assured, I will communicate with the Azdgari fleet immediaely, if you will excuse me. I will look into this matter and ask them to delay their ultimatum so that a conference can be held. A conference between the Azdgari, Miranu, League, Conclave and the highest remaining Igadzran authorities on Motif, Afen and Norhis. If you expect the Conclave to go to war based on what you have told us, then you might as well set yourself up to wait for a considerable amount of time."

Nodding to Tyrakiur and the Miranu emissary, Varian turned on his heel and left for his Arada. He found Arcad, still working.

      "Found anything?" Varian asked coolly.

"Nothing of any particular note. Just general stuff, doesn't mean much. We leaving?" Arcad asked, looking up from various data nodes that surrounded him in the dim blue light of the Arada's bridge.

"For DSN-8075. I'm requesting an escort fleet, and then if all goes well, we'll be moving on to Xix," Varian replied. "You've heard about Motif and Afen?"

Arcad nodded. "Data through from our two Galactic Eyes. There are some things you'd be interested in knowing, I bet, to the galactic north-west. But that for later. What are we doing?"

      "Holding a meeting, I hope."

      (- Priority: 1 -)

The events that appear to be coming to a head regarding the ownership of Motif, Afen and Norhis need to be resolved diplomatically, and not by military force. The South Tip Conclave requests that all military operations between the recipients of this communication are called off immediately. No ships will enter or leave Motif, Afen or Norhis. If this message is ignored, then the Conclave will have no choice but to become involved in the hostilities, and as much as we may dislike it, we will support any military action our allies the Miranu take.

Please send an emissary and a maximum of 10 escort ships (including the ship carrying your emissary) to the Xix system immediately (for the local authorities of Motif, Afen and Norhis, if you are unable to provide a vessel, we are sure that the League would be happy to transport you, while the maximum of 10 escorts would not be raised for them), so that this situation can be discussed. Bear in mind that this entire area of space is under constant surveillance by long-range Conclave sensors. No activity will escape our notice.

      Thank you.

      (- end transmission -)

Varian's Arada set off for the DSN-8075 system, sending a message to the forces at Malago that an escort of 5 Crescent warships and 4 Laziras would be required. Upon forming together, they set off for Xix, where hopefully the meeting would come to pass.

On F-2795, the centralised, shielded command centre designated "Beta Nexus" was completed, its shipyards activated, and the sharp point of the second Galactic Eye began to take on the blue-white hue present when any sub-spacial tap was open, sensor readings now being taken from as far away as Afen, the human system of Mestor, Thoso, Huron and Ariane. Data was steadily collected on the United Earth from the Beta Nexus.

Meanwhile, defences all over Conclave space were updated to their photonic counterparts. Particularly, this enhancement affected Nachaurrez, now equipped with twenty Eliminator batteries. The firepower of Nachaurrez was suggested to be powerful enough to wipe clean an attacking fleet, making Akrayhek a virtual fortress despite being devoid of a fleet. However, in light of a new defensive scheme suggested by Taikaenor and backed by Kataon, the defences in Akrayhek would be furthered until they were considered virtually invincible.

The first stage of this program would be the construction of Chamenaur, a battlestation virtually the mirror of Nachaurrez. With two stations armed with twenty Eliminators, orbiting Kayia so that one could discharge its Eliminators from any angle of attack on the planet and at a reasonable enough range to make it useful, it was hoped that the planet would become much more defendable. With work continuing on developing a photonic artillery weapon, there were plans to build smaller defence platforms later, each armed with two Reavers, and also outposts further out, at the specific hyper-exits in the Akrayhek system, armed with Instigators on turreted platforms. Finally, SAD silos on Kayia would be tripled in number.

This program would then be repeated on Bakoom.

The League is glad the Conclave has called for a diplomatic discussion to head off the Azdgaris unprovoked attack on the Leagues protectorates. The League has not started any military operations against the Azdgari, it is merely planning to finish any operations the Azdgari begin.

The League will be sending a representative from Tibidat, and the elected representatives of the old Igadzra planets.

    • The Azdgari High Council was in an uproar of celebration. News of the conquest of Nujja, Notil and the situation in Igadzra had finally reached Veltes, and the joy was plapable. Not only were the Igadzra defeated utterly and completly, but a large portion of their fleet was completly disabled and would soon bolster the Azdgari efforts against the Zidagar.

Not everyone in the Council Hall, however, was celebrating these latest developments. Sitting alone in an isolated corner of the room, Moran Kal'hek studied the reports sent in by Vice Admiral Bal'heron and General Treval. He read, amazed, of the Miranu trick that had disabled the Igadzra ships, of the explosive holocaust that had consumed the Igadzra homeworld, and of the strange sensor readings taken in the hours leading up to that explosion. He also payed close attention to the long range sensor readings taken from the weastern Igadzra systems. According to planetary news broacasts they had intercepted, the Miranu had decided to pay the Igadzra back for their theft with force, conquring several of their undefended systems in a matter of days.

It seemed that the Miranu had broken out of the peacful trading existance they had enjoyed for centuries and were making themselves a major presence in the galaxy. While Moran still wasn't sure what their plans for the immediate future were, it did seem that they weren't hostile towards the Azdgari Empire. While they hadn't made any open overtures of friendship, their sabotage of the Igadzra fleet had almost singlehandedly led to the Azdgari victory in the Igadzra system. Having made up his mind, Moran got up and made the short trek to his private office, where he began to compose a message to the Miranu.

As you know, our two peoples have had little to do with each other over the past centuries. In reality, there was actually little we needed each other for anyway, your government never interfered with our training facilities on Garit, and my people refrained from interfereing with your convoys. The events of the past few weeks have brought us much closer to each other, and I would like to see relations between us remain peaceful. If at all possible I would like to open formal diplomatic relations with you, including establishment of embassies and excange of diplomats.

Admiral Ilither looked at the incoming data from the renagade ships. The coding on it was centuries behind that of crescent technology. It would take some time to decode all of it properly. As it was, all that was coming through was basic translated text. Then something caught his eye. The renagades couldnt have been that stupid, surely. But it looked like they had been. They'd tried hacking systems far beyond anything they had, without even having the slightest idea how the systems worked.

Shaking his head, Ilither turned to his tactical officer.

"Order the Laziras to land troop pods. They are to secure all facilities, and attempt boarding of the renagade leaders ship. Target the rest of the renagade ships and disable them. Anything that tries to leave the planet is to be destroyed. The renagades have tried my patience long enough."

Seconds later, a volley of capital missiles shot out, targetting the renagade ships left. Within seconds of launch, the renagade capital ships where disabled, and missiles began pouring out of the Aradas into the enemies smaller ships, quickly disabling them. It simply wasnt a fight. The renagades strange little fighters exploded with barely a shot fired at them.

The Laziras began low orbit dives, dropping troop pods as they went. As the pods slamme dinto the ground, mechanoids began pouring out of them, covering the target areas. With orbital support, the renagade ground forces wouldnt last long.

      Ragni

Task Force Dharma arrived in force in Ragni to find the system devoid of Igadzra forces. The Miranu landed on the planet as they unloaded mechanical support units and legions of infantry to secure the planet. The Igadzra put up little fight, apparently resigned to the fact that their homeworld had been wiped out. Troop commanders took provisional control of the major population centers and established martial law, but quickly lifted it when they realized the Igadzra remaining on the world were willing to help build the new Miranu settlements on the planet. Task Force Dharma refueled and rearmed on the world, and set themselves on rotating patrol around the system's main hyperlink exit points.

The Miranu commander disembarked from his Ra Gunship. He marched with his platoon of commandos to the main control room of the planet's defense headquarters to speak with the head slicers of the Miranu Espionage Corps. The room suddenly was filled with rising Miranu soldiers saluting their leader. He returned the salute, and all but one of the hackers sat.

      "Corporal Jah, report."

"Aye sir. We have succeeded in capturing all the data held in these computer terminals and the main shipyard databases have been combed for all information contained therein. We were lucky to have captured this world as swiftly as we did, otherwise we may not have been capable of acquiring the information."

"The information," mused the commander. "This information, what does it entail?"

"We have acquired the designs for both the Igazra and the Igadzra Arada, and several data files detailing the make of the mines we encountered in Ersadt have also been acquired. Sir, my teams have looked over these files five times now. There is no doubt, we have genuine documents. These are not falsified."

"Very good Corporal. Admiral Sunrunner will hear of your work."

      "Thank you sir."

After four more passes all that was left of the fleeing ships were two turncoats and one helian.

Ilither looked at the strategic display of the planet. The renagade forces were being wiped out to the man if they did not surrender. Already the main facilities on the planet had been captured, and soon the renagade threat in this area would be destroyed.

    • Myrx and the rest of the Assault Fleet entered Ersadt, everybody was sursprised to see Miranu flying about the system. Myrx checked to see the gov't of Ersadt and saw it is under the control of the Miranu. He requested permission to dock his Arada at Outpost Vargien.

Viojed again found himself in the large hangar where the scientists test and demonstrate all of their researches. Though this time it was for a testing of the new phased beamer. The new version was turreted for 360 degree attack vs. the stationary frontal method. It also had 50% more damage than the first, doing 15 shield damage. The range had also been increased by 20%, making it slightly longer than that of phase cannons. The tests showed the great increase in many aspects and they were going to add them to all ships in the next couple days.

Viojed had suggested that they add two cannons onto the turret mound. This way they could double fire power without adding much weight. He also suggested that they add the upgraded stationary phased beams to the aradas, as they couldn't take too much more weight, and they are good ships for frontal attacks.

      League Technological Report

      Box Launcher
The League box launchr currently comes in two types. Pursuit missiles, and dispersal rockets. Both weigh 15 tons, and carry 10 missiles/rockets. The current design allows the pursuit missile version to aim its missiles at different ships, but still fire all missiles in a single volley. The dispersal rocket version has a staggered launch system, although its rockets can still be fired quickly. See also:AFM.

      Capital Missile
The capital missile currently comes in a single version, and is loaded with pursuit missiles. With 6 pursuit missiles, and a high powered central tracker, the capital missiles load is highly accurate. It currently outranges any other weapon. The launcher weighs 30 tons, with each missile weighing 3 tons.

      Anti-fighter Missile
Essentially a cut down pursuit missile, with an even smaller range, but far faster, the AFM is almost impossible to detect before impact, the distance it covers being so short, and it moving so fast. With a range just beyond that of phase weaponry, and the newer photonic weaponry of the Conclave, it is perfect for shooting down fighters before they can do damage. It is also possible to use it to shoot down enemy munitions, but that is considered fairly wasteful. Coming in a standard box launcher, weighing just 8 tons, it carries 12 AFMs.

      League Ships
      Crescent Fighter
The League crescent fighter is an interesting ship, with its free space taken up by no less than 3 box launchers. 2 Pursuit Missile versions, and a single dispersal rocket version. Its initial firepower is enough to seriously harm an enemy fleet.

      Arada
The League Arada has had a cannonr emoved, and replaced with a single turret. It has 4 box launchers fitted, 3 Pursuit missile versions, and a single dispersal rocket version. It also has 3 AFM box launchers.

      Lazira
The League Lazira has been modified extensively, having its shield generators boosted as well as extra hull plating added. Its SAD launchers have been removed, as have its dispersal rocket launchers, and associated ammo. An extra turret has been added, and 2 Capital Missile Launchers have been put in place. 15 rounds of ammo supply the launchers. 3 AFM box launchers have been installed. 2 dispersal rocket box launchers have also been installed. The League Lazira is indeed a formidable ship.

      Crescent Warship
The Leagues Warship is extensively modified, its CF bay and all secondary weapons having been reomved, and replaced with League technology. It has been fitted with an extra turret, allowing it to beat normal Warships easier. With no less than 3 Capital Missile Launchers, and 20 missiles, its long range firepower is unmatched. It has 3 AFM box launchers, 2 Pursuit Missile box launchers, and 2 dispersal rocket box launchers. Using up the remaining free space, the League has expanded the warships shield generators.

      Advanced Crescent Warship
With only one of its design having been built, and it looking likely it wil be the only one of its design ever built, the warship the League has constructed with with the strange compound is unique. Currently it has a standard League Warships weaponry, albiet with even more boosted shields, and an incredably tough hull. What will become of it is unknown.

    • Saga of the Guild: Chapter 28

      Mira

“This session of the Miranu High Council has begun. Supreme Admiral Sunrunner will now make a report regarding the recent acquisition of territory in Nova Sector. Admiral?”

Supreme Admiral Sunrunner approached the main speaker podium in the flowing black robes of the Miranu fleet. He skillfully balanced his report on the podium and flipped to the appropriate section. Looking around the council chamber and into every high councilor’s eyes, Shek Sunrunner tapped his left temple once and spoke.

“The Directorates of Ersadt, Threefrog, Innirian, and Ragni are now officially recognized as members of the Miranu Star League. These systems have already elected high councilors. Our constitutions on these worlds stipulate that each of these directorates’ high councilors will be Igadzra citizens for the first year these systems are being incorporated into the Star League, as a sign of trust and good will towards our comrades, the Igadzra of Nova Sector.” The admiral turned towards the door. “Councilors?”

Four Igadzra marched into the high council meeting hall wearing the flowing robes of the Star League; theirs were a blend of red, yellow, and orange to signify the colors of the Igadzra citizenry that they represented. Each stood behind an empty seat subtly placed around the table by Trademaster Dah earlier that day. Each Igadzra High Councilor introduced himself before seating himself.

“I am called Gendale bar Kortak. I represent the free people of Ragni.” The burly Igadzra seated himself next to High Councilor Imir with graceful poise.

“And I am called Yundele bar Ga’trac, representative of the Directorate of Lapsin.”

“Jovule Hark of the Fleet Directorate of Innor.”

“I am known as Kilane Milave, and I am present on behalf of the citizens of Outpost Vargien.”

Each Miranu High Councilor greeted their Igadzran colleagues warmly and with genuine friendship. Soon, after all present had satisfied their curiosities about one another, the meeting resumed, and Admiral Sunrunner made his formal report.

“The Miranu Defense Fleet moved swiftly in the strike on Ersadt,” he began with a nod towards the Igadzra from the system of that name. “We found a decimated force, and concluded the Zidagar had recently staged an abortive raid there. However, we encountered a strong passive defense in the form of a minefield. Could one of my Igadzra colleagues explain the usage of these devices?”

High Councilor Kilane stood and faced the council. “The minefield of which you speak would have been found in every system you encountered. I must assume you found a way of countering their mechanisms. The mines themselves are known as berserker mines, and utilize a mechanism which latches onto the offending ship, drains its shields, then explodes to rend its armor. The Igadzra military was armed with a missile variety as well, although the missile was somewhat weaker, if my memory is any guide.” Admiral Sunrunner nodded his approval. The Igadzra bowed and seated himself to understand the military exploits of his new people.

“Using the photonic weaponry of our Conclave allies, we managed to pacify the defenses with ease, although we did incur substantial losses from our initial engagement with the minefield. Our cloaking devices saved us from disaster, and with the new ramscoops, our forces will be even more deadly. Our ground troops moved under cover of Osiris fighters, and eventually took the station.

“We then moved onwards to Threefrog and Innirian, and fired the EM Spike weapon in retaliation for the theft of our repulsor and tractor beam technology.” He looked towards Researcher Lelos Somm. “High Councilor Somm’s sabotage led the Igadzra military to duplicate the flaw in every ship they equipped with the weapon, and we needed only to send the signal at the proper time to ensure our fleet’s safety in the remaining engagements. Thus, when we encountered Innor and Lapsin, there was no spatial defense force for us to contend with, for even the berserker mines had been built with the rigged beams. Even now, a force of captured Igadzra vessels, designated Task Force Sho’va, is being assembled and repaired in Innirian. We were not able to capture all the Igadzra vessels there, as some of the ships had been too heavily damaged by the EM Spike’s circuit-frying capabilities to be of any use to the Star League. Those ships will be cannibalized into speeding the process of constructing planet-based photonic defenses.”

The Igadzra present turned towards each other and mouthed their awe in the thoroughness in such a tactic. Even in defeat, the Igadza could appreciate a good military tactic. They then turned their attention back to the meeting.

“We only realized later that the whole of the Igadzra military had been gathering for a last effort in Igadzra. When we fired the EM Spike, we disabled their entire defense force just as the Azdgari most needed it. We inadvertently have divided the whole of the Igadzra Empire between the Azgari, the Miranu, and the southern Igadzra remnant, which seems to be under military rule by the Strandless Redemption League at the moment. Thus, we are now in a situation where the galactic map has to be redrawn. I have assurances from my commanders that High Councilor Neve Ashak is acting as Negotiator General for the Star League in a summit at Xix. He is bringing with him delegates from Nova Sector. The Novae Directorates are sending a Miranu and an Igadzra from each world, is this not so?”

All four Igadzra High Councilors voiced affirmatives. The admiral was satisfied. “Very well then. The Miranu Defense Fleet is now taking up an agenda of solidifying our fleets along the borders and maintaining peaceful relationships wherever possible for the duration of this defensive operation. While the fleet is engaged in this operation, we expect the Researcher to provide us some tangible evidence of the Eden colony’s value, and the summit to prove productive in assuring us our defensive sovereignty over the Star League and all its systems.” The Supreme Admiral bowed, then asked the trademaster his leave to begin work on the defense of the Star League. Corzun Dah nodded, and the admiral left.

      Xix

A Negotiator -class Miranu courier rippled out of hyperspace and broke against the rocks of real-space with a soundless scream of engines. Suddenly, it disappeared from normal visual perception and standard spatial sensors. The cloaked Miranu ship moved closer to the center of the system. It approached the Conclave vessel already there, and hailed the Miranu’s South Tip allies.

We arrive today to join the peace summit. The Miranu are here in the interest of (1) defending our borders, (2) consolidating our recent acquisitions, (3) establishing peaceful/profitable economic contact with any more civilizations participating in the summit, and (4) maintaining peace and stability in the region formerly known as the Igadzra Empire. We wish to express our willingness in resolving any disputes caused by the recent military actions in the region, and will support our Conclave allies in any decision they make. The Miranu are also willing to allow unarmed, peaceful observers from all governments attending to inspect the recent worlds who have joined the Miranu Star League. We guarantee nothing untoward is happening there.

The courier de-cloaked, and received clearance from the Conclave to land in the main hanger bay of the warship. The Miranu then docked with the Conclave warship and the Miranu delegation joined the Conclave in the main conference room.

      Miranu Information Datalinks Update:

The Miranu Star League welcomes the people of Nova Sector as friends and comrades. As such, the Miranu will be building new housing complexes and cities for the Igadzra and Miranu people to live together in peace and prosperity within their walls. These villas will focus on the joint development of new economic theory and domestic research, such as better healthcare geared towards both Miranu physiology and that of the Igadzra. Foci will also include libraries and commercial recreation centers. However, other ventures will include, out of necessity, the construction of planet-based defensive constructs. These will entail the construction of Eliminator batteries across the planet oir station in a grid that allows five Eliminators to cover every sector of the planet at all times.

      Star League Construction Guild Report:

      Constructed/Built/Completed: 7 MH Freighters, 12 M Freighters, 10 Sokars, 25 Ras patrolling Zeldair.

With the completion of many major projects and research, the Station Pybin Research Directorate and the Event Horizon installation have turned their scopes on new prospects.

      Event Horizon:

Project: APOPHIS Strategic Weapon Prototype: Incorporating the recent developments of sub-spatial cloaking and antimatter explosives, the Antimatter Payload Oscillation Phase Heavy Inter-dimensional Stealth Strategic Weapon carries only extensive fuel tanks and a significant antimatter payload. Due to its purpose as a strategic weapon, the APOPHIS weighs 100 tons. (Begun: 12/18/02) (End: 12/22/02) (Production of 2 per RTD after completion of prototype)

(Once the APOPHIS project is finished the following will occur):
Project: Osmium Novae: Extensive construction facilities over F-25 to evolve a nebula patrol force. It will facilitate the construction of 1 Sokar Carrier, 3 Ra Gunships, and 4 Osiris Fighters per RTD. Photonic batteries will also be installed across the Star League in a grid pattern as being done on the worlds of Nova Sector. (Begun: 12/22/02) (End: 12/27/02)

Research: Nanotechnology: The Miranu, having satisfied the antimatter desires of the military, have turned to investigating the uses of infinitesimally small robots known as nanites. The Miranu are considering implementing these microscopic mechanicals in weapons, and are also most curious as to its feasibility as an exotic armor plating. The following will be complete when Nanotechnology is finished. (Note: This is a long term project to occur while I am in my interim period without the capability to post.)
      (Begun: 12/18/02) (End: 12/27/02)

The following are part of the Nanotechnology project, and will be available to the Miranu Defense Fleet with the completion of the research.

      • Miranu NanoArmor: an extremely durable form of plating, NanoArmor is capable of repairing itself through the process of equal matter conversion. Although this is not an instantaneous process by a long shot, the armor itself provides a substantial boost to ship life, and its self-repairing abilities are an added plus. (50 tons)

      • Nano Weaponry: Miranu weapons researchers have theorized the possibility of weapons capable of attaching to a ship’s protective armor and consuming the armor while converting it into more armor-consumers, thus allowing for an exponential rate of destruction regarding the target’s armor’s integrity. A nanite cloud attaches to the target vessel and starts chewing through the armor, slowly making more nanites to eat away the armor. Several rounds of nanite clouds to complement the original round can fully breach enemy armor by speeding the process immeasurably.
      • Nanite Cannon: The nanite cannon fires magnetically accelerated pellets, which explode upon impact into nanite clouds. It is, however, very heavy and has a slow reload rate. (10 tons)
      • Swivel Nanite Cannon: A nanite cannon mounted on a 360° swivel, it lacks the armor of a turret for the sake of lower weight. It fires nanite pellets at twice the rate of a standard nanite cannon. (15 tons)

      Station Pybin Research Directorate:

Project: Chulak Shipyard: A shipyard being built for some time now, Chulak will construct 1 APOPHIS strategic weapon per RTD. (Begn: 12/18/02) (End: 12/22/02) (OOC: note, all the previous stuff about galactic eyes has been postponed and replaced with this.)

(Project to begin on 12/22/02 once the Chulak is finished): The Miranu have opted to build their own Galactic Eyes, modeled after the Conclave version already in place, in Zanat and in Nadej. This will take quite some time, but the Miranu High Council feel that keeping its watch on The Rock is imperative for the current times.
      (Begun: 12/22/02) (End: 12/27/02)

Research: Miranu Jammer: The Miranu military has decided that since it possesses countermeasure systems, it should proceed to make this an advantage exclusive to the Miranu forces. The Miranu Jammer will be capable of blocking all enemy communications when deployed. It can also scramble enemy countermeasure systems to some extent.
      (Begun: 12/18/02) (End: 12/27/02)

Moran Kal'hek, along with a number of other high ranked Azdgari military, scientific, and political personel, were all watching with awed expressions as the first Azdgari Star Destroyer slowly rose up from the surface of Dames, the Azdgari shipyard planet. Designed to be the flagship of the Azdgari fleet, the Star Destroyer was arguably the most powerful warship in the galaxy.

"I'm afraid it's true, Regent, if the High Council expects up to produce any more of these Star Destroyers they will quickly see a massive decrease in the production of our other ship classes." With a sigh Regent Kal'hek dismissed the Shipcrafter who had been pestering him for the past half hour about the strain the Star Destroyer project had put on his staff on Dames. At least, Moran admitted, the man had a point. Dames couldn't be the only major shipyard in Azdgari space... especially with the demands of this escalating war.

As he looked over the pile of datacards that never seemed to shrink on his desk, he noticed a small geological report on the Diudir system that had just been completed recently. Apparently the asteroid field in that system had a significantly above average amount of several rare industrial metals, as well as healthy deposits of the more common ones. Placing a call to several of his economic advisors, Moran decided that he would put a motion before the Council to start construction of a series of orbital shipyards and asteroid mining facilities in Diudir.

The fires were still burning across most of Giniz's main continent when the frist of the Azdgari Reconstruction Convoys arrived. Independant traders from accross the Crecent had been hired and were ferrying thousands of tons of food and medical supplies to the war-torn planet. As the freighters landed in Igadzra metropoliton areas devastated by the land battle that had taken place only days beforehand, thousands of Azdgari aide workers began to distribute the much needed supplies to Igadzra families who's homes had been all but vaporized in the fighting.

At the same time Azdgari civil engeneers and Igadzra construction crews worked side by side to repair the badly damaged infastructure of Giniz's many industrial cities. As basic waterworks, power plants, and sewer systems were repaired, the Azdgari also supervised the construction of new housing projects for those Igadzra who's homes they had destroyed during their conquest. While almost none of the Igadzra had forgiven their conquerers completely, they were at least begining to see that the Azdgari weren't the monsters that wartime propoganda made them out to be.

    • Both of the uninhabited planets in the Swan system and the Holmm system had been colonised. They now had more than 5 million citizens each. The biospheres that they lived in were more complex and secure than those of either Huang or Ridley. This was mainly accounted for by the fact taht neither of those planet’s atmospheres were poisonous; the Emalghans could not breath primarily nitrogenous atmospheres, and hence, the atmospheres of either planet could kill the Emalghans.

Scientists there were uncovering new metals, metals that no Emalghan had ever seen before. They were so dense as a matter of fact, that it was speculated that a single thin layer of only 5 inches of them would be the equivalent of the Voinian’s Bronev plating. Plus, it would weigh less than it, or about 45 tons. However, while they had the raw materials, they were nowhere near being done with the finished project, and as of yet, they could only try to refine the raw material.

Meanwhile, in the longer colonised planets of Ridley and Huang, the population had soared to almost half a billion people each. They had more than a dozen major metropolitan areas (meaning more than 20 million people each), and the rest of the population resided in towns across the scattered and craggy surface of each of the red planetoids. With each one having mag lines all over the planets, in dire need, the civilians of each planet could take the automated mag lines to the sheltered and better defended cities. Each city had a grouping of 4 Emalghan Turrets. However, such as this defense was rather weak, the councils on each planet had the same thought: that planet defense needed to be bolstered.

As such, they were looking at a number of different companies presenting their solutions. One of them called for trios of Emalghan Turrets with 1 Rocket Launcher in the center to provide for heavy damage. A different company offered a twist on the simple Turret and Launcher version with disguised launchpads for Emalghan Fighters. They would be point vertically up, with a swivel launchpad that would allow them to cover any attack routes towards the capital of any planet. Since any enemy fighters would undoubtedly be flying low to the ground, they would be perfect for an ambush and launch scenario.

An entirely different idea came from a small unknown company. They advocated doing something that no Emalghan planet or moon had ever done before. They pushed for defensive space stations. Each defense station, named Golan Stations for the company that had designed them, would be 150 meters round. With each platform housing 5 Emalghan Turrets and 10 Launchers (with 10 Rockets each), they were indeed a force to be reckoned with. However, they had no hyperspatial engines. They, were, however, quick and fairly manuverable (by Emalghan standards at any rate). Emalghan Freighters would build them, and five were necessary to work on one. The problem was that some Emalghan Freighters would have to be refitted to build them; there was no possible way that they could be launched from ground into orbit.

The Emalghan Council of Elders had convened on Emalghia to sort out the matter of orbital space stations. They were presented with the following data packet:

      Golan I Space Station:
      600 Shields
      1800 Armor
      Fuel: 0
      Speed: 225
      Acceleration: 250
      Turning: 1
      Mass: 150
      Length (Diameter):150m
      Height: 10m
Weapons: 5 Emalghan Turrets and 10 Rocket Launchers (with tiny amounts of swiveling, though by no means anti fighter)

The Emalghan High Council quickly agreed.

A number of Emalghan Warships,18 of them, actually, began working on the project, in the Huang system. Since only 6 Emalghan Warships were needed to put up a Station, 3 of the Stations were being worked on simultaneously. In the Emalghion System, even more Warships, 24 of them, were working on 4 Stations.

A bunch of different ships working on the prototype station.

    • Colonisation Report
With the passing of the Igadzra givernment, planets near its space that were once cut off from Strandless access are now accessible. While the old Igadzra planets are under dispute, these planets are free for the taking, and the League is now moving in.

In Reban, a small colony is being emplaced on Reban IV. Due to the desert like nature of the planet, heavy duty industries with toxix by-products are to be based here, where they can not ruin an active enviroment.

In Novish, where previously everyone was barred from, Novita is being investigated for a possible large scale colony.

Elridi, in the Elridi system is being looked at as a forward trading and supply post. post. While almost in Azdgari space, the system is unclaimed, and the League beleives the system will give its merchants a favourable position once tensions in the area are reduced.

      Neslaut Facility Report

Further tests on the newly named Siqwium have shown it has even mor uses than expected. By introducing an energy resonance to the material, its structure becomes even more sturdy. By varying the energy resonance, the material gives off different energy field. The facility on neslaut is now looking at ways to fine tune this technology.

      Feviry Situation Report

With the pacification of the Igadzra systems, the League offered membership to the people of Feviry, and it was quickly accepted. With a base in Feviry, the League has an excellent vantage point for future expansion, as well as a trading point with the Miranu.

With data on the surrounding area uploaded to the League government, it became apparent that humans are very near by. Luckily it appears that they are not the renagades recently defeated. However, it does appear that the humans in the 'Sumer' system, as they call it, are in a tight spot. The planet they inhabit is undergoing serious tectonic activity, making life dangerous. As such, the League has sent a diplomatic team to the system to offer its assistance.

      Yelts
Admiral Ilither looked over the reports that were coming in from the planets surface. the planet was mostly secure, with nothing left that could provide resistance. The troops landed had captured some renagade tech ata, and they were going over it now. Hopefully something good would come of it. His fleet had been resupplied with ammunition, and now it was time to decide what to do. Long range sensors had picked up massive disturbances to the galactic east, and captured renagade databases said another base was up there. The League First Fleet would follow the hyperlinks to the system, and see if the renagade maps were accurate in saying that several independant systems where enroute.

      Igadzra Report

With the safeguarding of ex-Igadzra systems, the League has gained access to numerous Igadzra technologies. The Igadzra ship plans are being distributed to League shipyard, but construction rates, if any, are undecided. The shipyards in the ex-Igadzra systems are however continuing to build Igadzra ships, which will then be refitted with League technology. The system of Afen, with its massive resource base, will prove a boon to the Leagues shipyards.

    • Voinian Empire
Only one alien message reached the Council today. However puzzeled that the council was about the Emalgha having not replied they had to move on to other things. The Miranu had sent a reply to the Emperor's request...
      (Message to Miranu)
      (From Voinian Council)
We had not asked you to provide ships or crews, we asked you not to provide them with anything that could be used to wage war. For example: Phase Cannons, missiles, other munitions. Where did we ask of you a military alliance? In our original contact we stated that we knew you were a peacful bunch and that we did not want to change that.
We will gladly transmit our data on armor plating... Why you want it we do not understand. If such metel existed anywhere else known you would have found it, there's no doubt about that. In return we ask for anything of equal value to us. We know that armor will be valuable to you almost infinatly.
You may set up an embassy where ever you please, but we will suggest Svass Station as that is the center of Voinian space. It is also the center of Voinian trade.
We thank your trademaster for his offer. We would be honored if he were to help us in such a manner.
(OOC: i figure you'll all get a laugh out of this(cause that's what it was intended as))
      Live long and profit.

      Voinian Council
The reports of a steady increase in size of the UE ships on the border reaches the council. They show little concern.
"It is without a doubt just a standard precausion. After a refusal to peace they are expecting an attack just as we would. They build up their defenses just as we would."- Council A
"It may just be a slow preparation for a crippleing blow to us. Think about having every one of their ships thrown at us in one attack. We would be knocked out with unthinkable ease. They did not feel that we meant what we said in our peace proposal. Perhaps we should ask them to send a shuttle to our space and show them how things are changing?"- Council B
"Not a bad idea old coot. Let us send such a request to our fellow beings. Maybe it will open their eyes a little. Show them just how much alike we are."- Council C

(Message to United Earth Government and People)
      (From Voinian Council)
      (BCC to Miranu)
      (Re: Peace)
Your reply told us that you did not believe the empire was changing, we invite one of your citizens to come see for themselves. The transport must be our own as we must take a precausion of you using this person for recon. This is just to show you that we are changing. This person must come alone, with nohing but clothing. We will supply anything they require.
You know as well as we, just how stupid a thing this is for us to do, but this is seemingly the only way to prove to you what is happening behind our border.

      Voinian R &D;
Tests on the new engine have been underway for some time. Tests of in-system flight was already a great success. Tests of their hyperspace capablity were not quite as good. As the un voinian ed test ships tended to get stuck in hyperspace after coming to a halt. Yes, the new engine was designed with not only the intention of going faster, but the intention of advanced hyperspace maneuvers. To date, no ship has been able to turn or even hover in hyperspace. Voinian techs were hoping to place this hurdle behind them.

Newly constructed vessels arrive with the usual flash.
2 Dreadnoughts, 4 Cruisers, 20 Frigates, 7 HVY Fighters, 13 Intercepters take a defensive possition in the system.

      Voinian R&D;:
      New Weapon: 3 days
      New Engine; 2 days
      <Classified>; 5 days
      Voinian Shipyards:
      +4 Dreadnoughts
      +8 Cruisers
      +42 Frigates
      +14 HVY Fighters
      +26 Intercepters
      +4 Supply Ships
      Notes: 2 days construction.
the extra frigates from these days are sent to Obron.
If you would like me to post my shipcount i am quite willing. I havnt updated my Posted (stationed, placed, etc) section in a while though... i think my total shipcount may be off but not by much(possibly missing ships, not extra).

    • A message is sent to all people coming to Igadzra planets and stations.
      ----------
      From: Igadzra leaders
      To: All invaders
"We know that we are in no possition to stop you, but please, leave us alone. Don't interrupt our life. You may build your cities on our planets, and you may have our planets, but leave our people alone. If they want to come to your settlements, they will."
      end
      ----------
Many Igadzrans stayed away from the settlers, but just as many greeted them with open arms, and gladly helped to build new cities.
