      Best fighter to fly YOURSELF, or best fighter to have as an ESCORT, or toughest fighter to beat when played by the AI ...?

      FLY YOURSELF -- haven't flown too many ... just the Azdara, I think

      ESCORT -- Azdaras are the best (inside the Crescent), so long as you have them with you as part of a mission. Naturally, you can't capture them, so that limits availability. Otherwise, I'd vote for the Voinian Heavy--they're very tough, in UE space, Voinian space, and in the Crescent, and are the easiest to pick up should one of yours wind up broken. Zidagar fighters are only good for quick surgical kills (i.e., there's a specific ship you need to be dead inside of three seconds, so you launch your 2 fighters and press "F"); they're horrible at keeping you from getting creamed by enemy fighters, and don't last very long against capital ships.

      AI -- Voinian Heavies are the easiest AI-driven ships to flatten, followed by Kraits and UE, IMO. Then Crescent, Zid, Azdara. Azdaras are the worst to face, bar none.

      All you people are saying Azdara's and 1 was stupid to say against a Voinion Frigate. Now that is a death wish, 1 rocket (voinion) can kill it! My favourite fighter is easily UE Fighter

      Rockets are so inaccurate a Igazra can dodge them, much more a Azdara. Besides, a UE Fighter dies to 2 rocket hits. 😛

      It's spelt Voinian. "Azdaras", not "Azdara's" in this context. Only one person said the Azdara, not "all." Two people said Voinian heavy fighter, not one. It's fighter, not frigate.

      ...okay! Now that me being pedantic is done...

      ...if you're gonna' pilot a fighter, and you go around with an attitude of how many of this or that can wreck your ship, you'll get about as far as ten metres out of the spaceport bar before you have nervous breakdown and decide a nice strong drink would be preferable to flying a fighter.

      The beauty of piloting a fighter is NOT gettin' hit. I've had pilots in EV who haven't encountered a single missile, heavy rocket or torpedo in countless battles, and come pretty close in EVO (1.0.2 doesn't help, I'll admit.)

      I may be a little late but my favorite fighter is the azdara. Its faster than anything and once you finish the azdgari string its almost invincible(super high shield recharge)

      My vote goes to the Voinian Heavy fighter. Why? It is invincible if outfitted correctly. More so than even the Azdara. (I have personally flown both and compared) A Voinian Heavy Fighter with dospect, 4 shield enhancers and both Azgari shield regen upgrades is the most industructible ship. And the has a whole lot of firepower if you have 3 neutron cannons and a plasma siphon. The reason why this ship is so powerful has to do with its recharge rate. Its original recharge rate is not as high as an azdara's. However, your recharge time becomes one after the azdgari upgrades; that is the same for all fighters. Now we get to recharge rate. Add the 4 shield enhancers and I believe you will end up with 22 in shields. This gives you more shielding than the azdara by 4 units. Now I know what you are thinking, add 4 shield enhancers to the azdara and now it has more shields. You could do this but the 20 in space would be better utilized by dospect armor. Back to the Voinian H. Fighter......you now have the minimum reccharge time plus the highest amount of shields and this means you have the fastest recharge RATE in the game. Now add dospect armor (Just get rid of the rockets and rocket launchers). This gives you 22 in shields and 75 in armor. The thing about armor is that it regenerates at the RATE that the shields regenerate at. Now your in business. Considering that phase is about 3 times less effective against armor than shields this means your armor has an amazing regen rate. The ONLY ship in the game that can defeat you is the DISCO Bison. ALL other ships (including the Dreadnought), you can sit in front, let them unload on you, go get a sandwich, watch a tv program and come back and your ship will still be there. No other ship besides the DISCO can overcome your recharge rate. The only problem with this ship is that it takes all the fun out of the game.

      The Arada isn't considered a fighter, is it? If it is, that gets my vote. If it isn't, I'll have to say Azdara. While it is almost too fast to control, it is still strong enough to do damage, and if you need to regenerate you could simply fly away and come back fully shielded.

      With Dospect Armor, Shield Generator and 4 Blaze Cannons it can stand in the front of Voinian Frigates and win. Its shields go down fast, but it's armor regenerates so fast it newer loses more than a few percent, which it instanly renegerates. 🆒 😉

      The best thing to do is download renegade vessels and put it in your plug folder. Buy an ASP bay and 8 ASP's(find them on freeport).Then download the UE battleship plug and stick it in your plug folder. Once you have done this you will notice that you can launch UE battle ships with your ASP bay!(!!!!!MAKE SURE YOU DONT TAKE OUT THE R. VESSLELS PLUG WHEN YOU PUT IN THE BATTLESHIP PLUG IN!!!!!)

      UE BattleShips are stronger than UE Cruisers!

      I completely agree. After hearing about this outfit arrangement on a VHF a long time ago I decided to try it and guess what? It worked! It was so powerful, just as Jubee so excellently described. If you have any small amount of piloting skills you can avoid the Dreadnaught's turreted rockets and thus are invincible to everything except several concentrated rockets or the Disco Bison.

      My vote goes to the Voinian Heavy Fighter.

      I never use fighters but if I did it would have to be a përs Azdara which I just saw - A.S.S Something-or-other. It was mildly indestructible, taking all the fire from two Izdaras, me (in a Crescent Warship maxed-out with neutron weapons - 3 cannons, 4 turrets - I think) and a couple of Izdgari Aradas. Definitely a cool fighter to have. I tried to capture it but a) I couldn't catch it, and 🆒 any damage I did was instantly fixed so I couldn't disable it. Have to get a tractor beam on it next time. grin
