    • motif mission


      In the Igadzra string, there is a mission in which I must go from igadzra to motif and pick up cargo then go back with in about 10 days or less. This is not possible, my time runs out after i get to motif. I have searched the baord for this answer and i found none. Has anyone else expereinced this problem?

    • a crescent warship, does that actually make a difference? Well I also have for escorts an igazra, 2 laziras, another crescent warship and an arada, if those are slowing me down?

      I also have aborted the mission many times and tried it again for other systems as close as 2 jumps and as far as 5 jumps but I always either miss the deadline by a lot or just barely, depending on the system's proximity.

    • There are some difference in time travel for the different types of ships. Small ones like fighters and the Arada take only one day to hyperjump in the next system, while medium ships like the Lazira and maybe the UE Destroyer take two days. Capital ships like the Crescent Warship, the Igazra and Voinian Cruiser, etc. travel in three days. Therefore, it would be hard to do that mission without a smaller ship.

    • that is very interesting information. now is there a way that i could somehow preserve my souped-up warship while i carry out the mission with a smaller ship?

    • I just turned on my own escort arada and now am piloting that ship. I am hoping that when I recapture my warship it has the same upgrades.

      edit: Actually, should I take my igzara next time and then just re-upgrade it?

    • An Arada is a better idea. One other suggestion is to get QuickJump Plug-In.

    • No, it won't have the upgrades. Sad but true - I had the same thing with that mission when I was trying for once to find the UE Destroyer useful... needless to say it was futile and I switched to a Crescent Fighter for the mission. It's the sort of thing that after you've done it, you'll keep it in mind for next time and not get a big ship until you've done it. I think there is at least one such mission in all the Strand strings: the intro to the Azdgari string is pretty tight; the deliver chemical weapons for the Zidagar; and this for the Igadzra. But don't worry this Igadzra one is the most beneficial - you get a nice weapon, and KEEP IT when you change ships :).

      Just to note, the # days to jump is related to ship mass. < 100 tons = 1 day.. I'm not too sure when it jumps to 3, but all of the Warships take 3 except for the Igazra, which is one reason why it is usually my choice for the late game. Note: I don't class the Zidara as a Warship.

      To my mind this is a great concern and is the main point that really makes it impossible to use such ships in anything but the end-game. I mean that's okay for the bigger cruisers, but I think the UE Destroyer should take only 2, as well as the Turncoat, and perhaps the Voinian Frigate, as you get access to them well before the late game... just my thoughts.
