    • In Sheagi, the military force present growl at the feeble attempt at damage, even though several small ships do blow up.
Along with the mass of azdaras, one squadron begins glowing orange, and as the CW engages 2750 azdaras at once the azdaras back away, and one patrol group, the one glowing, storms the ship. their comms get distrupted and their controls go awry, some are even damaged, but they still accomplish their purpose, and the small squadron of kamikaze azdaras, glowing a blue hue, crash into the Crescent Warship's hull, delivering massive damage.

      "You'll regret that, pirate."

Then several Laziras launch primitive SAI's at the Crescent warship, with devastating results...

The intruding ship has no way to notice the inter-dimensional ripple with beams of light bent around it in the next system (NSI-4200), which is a Tachyonic Generator in the next system, being armed, and in the other direction, another cloaked supercruiser on it's way.

Meawhile, 3 AA-2's hook energy ropes to the freightor and help it down to the surface. Military forces surround it, and message it.. "Do you need help?"
Laziras and azdaras patrol the area around the landed freightor, ready to protect it from the invading warship above.

Ships from Kar'neth are sent to Var'Neth, for a massive blockade. The system is strategically mined.

      A supercruiser is En-Route to NSI-9002.

    • "HELLPP!"A group of six frieghters with a Crescent Fighter escort jumps in with another group following it. Unfortunatly, the other group was rather large. And it was made of pirates. Blam! A freighter blew up, and one next to it got disabled.

Over the comm system, a pirate laughed as a freighter blew. Then he stopped laughing.

"****!" The pirate ships got hit with a barrage of missiles, causing them to create a rather nice display of fireworks.

      ----------

The Black Night had finally reached it's end. It detonated in a huge fireball.

      ----------

The frieghters leader, the out of control frieghter, flew back to the freighter fleet with the help of the AA-2s.

"Thank you for saving us from those pirates. I am afraid we have a confession to make. We stole those missiles from the pirates, and we were trying to get rid of them. How can we repay you?"

    • The Azdgari forces, after mopping up the pirates, reply to the Freightor fleet... "Who are you?"

"Repay us by giving us information. telling us EXACTLY who you are, where you came from, why you stole the rockets, why you don't like the pirates. I assume the fighter is your leader, have him land at base 9b, slowly. no sudden moves now, dont want any accidents. "

forces fortify base 9b, with ground turrets aimed at the incoming fighter with every bit of possible precision.

Military forces are still around the freightor... and not too trusting...

    • "Well, we stole the rockets from the pirates because we were low on money. We came from some pirates system... I can't remember the name." The frieghters slowly landed in a large docking bay.

      ----------

The man inside the cockpit of the Crescent Fighter slowly opened a panal on the wall of the inside of his ship. There was a red button. He punched it, and waited for the huge blast. Nothing. He clicked it again. Nothing. He cursed. ****** pirates. This was not good...

Taking into account everything you say you have in Cheble, be pleased to know the following:
      • I can destroy every missile you can fire at me (around 80000 a second) easily with duelbeams as point defence. Not only that, if you had ten times that in ships, I could still destroy every missile you fired. Sorry, mate.

      • With particle railguns alone, I can wipe out your 60000 ships in 40 seconds. Actually, that's an overstatement, as to come to that I had to assume you had an equal number of all ships (as many battleships as fighters, for example.)

      • If you swarm those 60000 fighters against me, over 70000 anti-fighter rockets firing a rocket every 2/3 of a second and firing a minimum of eight rockets altogether, will obliterate them before they come in range and with accuracy you can't avoid.

      • Your two Star-Docks will only be in range with their longest rangest weaponry (missiles, which I can destroy anyway) for a period of about six seconds, considering I can come to a dead halt and be moving at full speed in the opposite direction, anyway from them, after coming into the system, almost instantly. Thus, their firepower will do no damage against me.

      • As railguns have an impact in themselves, your main fleet will likely not be able to close fully with me before I've annihilated it (40 seconds for my railguns alone, and I have Scarab discs on the job as well halving that time), and even if they do my duelbeams being 3-4 times more powerful than your antimatter weaponry, you won't last a minute.

Therefore, the battle is going to be extremely one-sided, perhaps to the case of the Strand League not losing any vessels whatsoever. In the case of your railguns, remember that I outrange them considerably, and only your slower ships have enough to be any threat (the slower ships that wouldn't be able to close in time at all.) If some of your railgun fire did hit me, the damage would be extremely minimal, however. It's a combination of extremely high shield ratings, shield layers, energy (damage) dampeners and other factors that results in that, you'll find.

      Good day.

      Yes...

What do you want me to say to this? Um... Well, if you think that I cannot understand the superiority of the SL, well you are wrong. If you wrote these lines for the sole purpose of making me write a post about you taking Cheble, you are right. If you wrote the above words to make me fell better about the way things evolved between us, it will not work, unless you come to Montréal! 😛 If you wrote these line to make me realize that I had done great things to the Akrahd Teh'Rak Clan, you were wrong, I knew this already. If you want me to make a post about your strange behaviour over the last weeks, I can. However, I will not, unless you force me to do so. If you really want, you will receive it some day by email.

IC: After the attack in Cheble, the SL forces took the system. Still that was only one system and more than three hundred thousand other ships were waiting after them.

In Teh'Rak, Nedeja Psack had capitualated to the Horosk, but not to the other enemies of the Clans.

They also sent all techs to the other Clans.

The morning sunlight of Lavrii Prime slid through the wide panoramic windows of the hospital room, falling on the still figure of the woman in the bed.
Kai'asi looked at the injured alien. "You know, she's not really that ugly. Weird, yes, but not ugly. Akrahd, now those are ugly."
"Yeah." Ai'siu agreed. "Did you get the latest news on the Network?"
"Sure I did." Kai'asi replied. "Kavii Team bet the Yiidai Team three nil in grav-ball."
"I meant the latest latest news. It came in at four this morning; I'm sure I've got the printout around here somewhere." Ai'siu began to fumble in her robes. "Ah, here it is. Short, but to the point. "Following the attack on the Akrahd Teh'rak Clan by the Strand League, the leader of the Akrahd Teh'rak Clan, Nedeja Psack, has surrendered to the Horosk Union, after supplying the other Akrahd Clans with Teh'rak technology. How this will affect the war front with the Tronoak and Thalleon Akrahd Clans is as yet unknown. More information will be brought to you as we recieve it.""
"This could be a major advantage to us," Kai'asi mused. "If only the Akrahd had a more centralised government, the nearby Clans would be thrown into disarray by this. If only our Predators were complete!"
"They haven't even begun official design yet, Kai'asi." Ai'siu reminded him. "Who knows, perhaps the Strand League will crush the rest of the Akrahd for us. Perhaps the Akrahd will unite to crush the Strand League. Tomorrow's tales only tomorrow can tell."
"True. Where did I put that stimulant hypoinfuser? We need to talk to our Human patient."

Admiral Jani grinned as the Teh'rak surrendered in their home system, and turned to his adjutant. 'Land ground troops to secure all major facilities. Detach ships to all other Teh'Rak systems to confirm the surrender'

Thousands of ships turned from the planet, and entered hyperspace. For once, they had not gone into sub-space fold. They wanted the Akrahd to know they were there. Soon, all Teh'rak planets would be safely under Horosk control. The Horosk could then procede with their plans.

10th Horosk Carrier Battle Group - Korellian
Admiral Keli, upon recieving news of the Teh'Rak surrender in Teh'Rak to the 8th and 9th Battle Groups, ordered his ships to leave sub-space fold. 134000 Ships rippled into orbit of Korellians planet, and transmitted a message.

'Your clan leader has surrendered to us, we ask you accept it peacefully. We will be landing ground troops to ensure your compliance. Most troops will be kept in orbit unless they are needed.'

When the message ended, thousands of ships left the system, eager to secure the surrounding systems quickly and safely.

    • MOD- Your handing of your technologies to the other clans is revoked on counts of not being realistic -- not particularly my decision, as originally I tried Carnotaur to allow more inter-clan relationships, but he firmly stated there were to be none other than hostile ones.

As for my "strange behaviour", put it down to terminal depression, girl problems, and a ****ing **** life if you so wish, although you might also want to consider some other factors, i.e. your unrealistic battle posts with the Horosk in which you held up while being severely outnumbered, where in fact in a counter situation the Horosk would realistically massacre you.

I am deeply sorry that actual mathematical facts are seemingly viewed with extreme distaste and taken as some kind of "insult", but the fact remains everything I said was the truth. I am sorry to have to state it so (I never at any point in the webstory intend to use my "full" statistical capabilities except in the case of the planned epilogue to SH (Post-Horizon, Horosk versus Strand League)) but it seemed to me that you totally ignored any superiority of technology I had. It gets annoying, you might have noticed.

Again, I am sorry for having so firmly stated the real figures, and I hope no-one is intimidated by them (to be honest, I was going to edit the post before Carnotaur returned, but now you've quoted it) because although my original intention was to try and explain the odd advantage, I did so in excess.

I'd ask that you seriously reconsider totally leaving. Jumping to another government is, I think, perfectly reasonable. You don't suit bad guys, NDJ, that's all. And when there's real danger (players in control), I'm really not good at slowing down and being nice in battles. If there's a real danger, I'm getting it over and done with. Or I'll get dead myself.

    • OOC: Good points, Espy. NDJ, perhaps switching to another govt might be a good idea - the Asani don't have a player. I originally wanted to be them, but Espy was going to be them, and by the time he switched back to the SL I was the Lavrii. What exactly does an Asani look like, anyway?

Leaning over the prone figure in the hospital bed, Kai'asi pressed the sttimulant hypoinfuser to the patient's arm. Her eyelids flickered open, revealing large eyes of an intense green-blue.
"Who the **** are you?" was the first thing she said, followed by "Where the **** am I?"
"We are the Lavrii." Kai'asi replied, sitting on the end of the hospital bed. "I personally am Supreme Arbiter Kai'asi, and this is Arbiter of the Diplometic Relations Ai'siu. You are in a hospital on Lavrii Prime."
"Oh. We were trying to get to your space..."
"We found an unarmed Miranu purple-ship (OOC: this is what the Lavrii call Miranu Couriers)crashed on an uninhabited world near our borders." Kai'asi told her. "Why exactly were you trying to get to Lavrii space?"
The Human woman sat up in the bed, clearing her throat. "Do you have any relations with the Azdgari Empire?"
Kai'asi frowned at the odd question. "Well, they were at the latest Tribunal of the Arbiters, but we didn't reach any agreements."
She sighed in relief. "Okay, then. My friends and I are political dissidents; the Azdgari secret police were hunting us. We sought asylum in Miranu space, but they wouldn't take us; so we stole a Miranu Courier and made for Lavrii space. The Azdgari caught up with us half way."
"Political dissidents? Because of what, exactly? Will this cause trouble with the Azdgari?"
"Probably not - they think I'm dead, after all. It was a small matter -"
"Not so small, if they wanted to kill you for it." Ai'siu interrupted.
"True. We tried to assasinate the Emperor."
"And you call that small? Why would you want to do that?"
"Look up Human history, Supreme Arbiter. Some of us fled here with the Refugee Races; my parents were with them, and they settled in Azdgari space. The Azdgari Empire is an Empire, which means the Emperor has complete control; we wanted to set up a representative democracy."
"Democracy is a noble ideal, but it doesn't work." Kai'asi said. "You get rulers who are better at getting the job than doing the job. Even if the Empire was mismanaged, which it isn't to the best of my knowledge, a well-structured monarchy is often more stable."
"But the people have no say in what goes on!" The woman's eyes blazed. "They must do whatever is demanded of them, and have no choice in the matter! Democracy isn't about politics, it's about free will."
"Fortunately, we Lavrii use neither, so the argument is acedemic." Ai'siu said. "The people elect their planetary Arbiter, who rules the planet. The planetary Arbiters elect from their number the Cabinet of the Tibunal - all the Arbiters of the different bureaus, and the Supreme Arbiter. I, for instance, am Arbiter of the Diplomatic Affairs and planetary Arbiter of Haita. Kai'asi is Supreme Arbiter and planetary Arbiter of Ciian. The people elect their rulers, just as in a Human democracy. But our system means that under the governance of the Supreme Arbiter, the Arbiters will always be the people suited to their tasks."
"It will suffice you for now." the woman replied, "but eventually you will find the people want their own representatives, their own Presidents."
"Perhaps." Kai'asi said. "But if that time comes, it will come, and the Arbiters will allow it to come. What of you, Human? What is your name?"
"Tanya Kerensky." the woman told him.
"Taii-na'ker Enskii." Kai'asi tried to pronounce the alien words. "I will call you Azure then, for the colour of your eyes."
She shrugged. "If you want to. Is there a network terminal somewhere?"
"Of course." Ai'siu picked up the slim patapad and passed it to her.
"Thank you." Azure replied. "I guess I have a lot to catch up on."
"Indeed." Kai'asi smiled. "Well, duty calls - we ought to go."
He and Ai'siu stepped out of the room.
"Well, she seemed nice enough." Ai'siu said.
"Yes, but I can't shake the feeling that she'll be trouble for us." Kai'asi replied. "We'll just have to keep the Azdgari from hearing of her."

"Well," Prime Minister Kyala thought to himself, "now that the Teh'Rak have fallen and the Horosk have a permanent presence in the LMC, perhaps now there can be a greater peace." Already Kayan forces had been shifted more to the south in Azdgari and Strand League space, to help guard against any attacks from the other five Akrahd clans. "But if the other clans are anything like the Teh'Rak," Kyala thought, "then it's only a matter of time before something happens again."

Kyala leaned back in his chair, going over reports of the Supercruiser project, reporting that the hull had begun to be constructed on the shipyard in Kayla, and when the subassemblies were taken into account, was now over halfway complete. Nobody had yet to think up a name for the ship, as of yet, despite a myriad of suggestions that had poured in from everybody from scientists to farmers to young Kayan schoolchildren. It was ironic that despite all the research and extensive construction that was necessary to build the ship, that the toughest part might be choosing the name.

Dr. Kalin looked over the results. Not believing what she saw, she rubbed her eyes and took another look. The contents of the computer console had not changed - the khydronium crystal layer had resulted in an amplification of the tachyonic shield wave.

"I had theorized that there might be materials with this effect," she said, "but I'd never been able to find one."

"I've been on experiments with at least half a dozen crystal compounds and tachyonic shields," the female doctoral student said, "but I've never seen results like this!"

"Me either," Dr. Kalin agreed. "This is an important discovery," she said, turning to Ionar, "and I suspect we'd see the same results on a ship in the vacuum of space. The most amazing part, though, is how you managed to stretch a thin uniform sheet of khydronium crystal like this one. It's almost perfect and free of any impurity..."

    • Teh'Rak Report
Assessors have checked Teh'Rak space, and found many interesting technologies. They will be taken back to Horosk space and examined for further use. Perhaps the biggest boon, however, are the Teh'Rak shipyards. Despite having less space than the Horosk, they approach the Horosk in ship building capability. However, in order to produce Horosk quality ships, they will have to be refitted with the correct technology. This is expected to take a while, but luckily not as long as it might take if this were another clan due to the Teh'Raks more advanced technology.

A voice spoke from the mass of soldiers.
"Dont even think about it. Thie is Admiral Lancaster. You, the one that was flying the fighter. You're gonna open the Freightor's cargo bays one by one. Any sudden movement, and you'll be able to feel the bolts of 400 rifles aimed at you. Luckily, every one is set to stun. Won't kill you, but it'll be so painful... well, you won't have to find out just how painful. Now, open the hatch."
      --------------------------
"It's too bad angien, really... Your plan was perfect. Maybe we can use it on some other enemy."
      "nope, we can't."
"No angien, don't talk like that, it's fine."
"You don't UNDERSTAND Red, the Teh'Rak were our only way to remain a secret agency.."
"Wha-" Red froze cold... as he saw Angien's phased pistol trained on him.
"We could have allied the Teh'Rak.... Could have brought the Imperial Government down... But we can't do it so easily without external help. Now we have to change our plans!"
"Angien... all this time... You're.. one of them..."
"Yes, Redchigh, I'm an Eagle. Ever wonder where the rebel's name came from? Eagle is the codename for rebel officers that replace officers that serve under you... We recruit people to turn against you... My real name is Fianca. Don't you think of moving, I'm still a perfect shot at the pistol... I had planned to have already killed you, but I can't. That's why I have it set to stun. We will have our day of glory, Red.... I vow that to you. And when that day comes, you will not live." And Angien pulled the trigger.
"AAAhhhhrrrgg.." Red yelled as it seared his chest and he fell, unconscious to the floor...
Angien put Red in his bed, put the pistol in it's holster, kissed Red on the lips, and slipped out the door...
      "What was that scream?"
"**** the Guards" Angien muttered.. "It was a bad dream, he's fine."
"Still I bed we better check.."
"No, simna, He doesn't want to be disturbed. He's trying to go back to sleep."
"Oh.. ok. We'll take your word for it."
With that, the Guards went to their post, and Angien dissappeared around the corner.
She made it outside without any trouble. On a whim, she ran back in the building, and messaged the Horosk...
      Message to: Horosk
      From: Angien
We would like to ask you for 10 deployable weapons platforms, as part of a joint Azdgari/Horosk defense program. They would be sent to the southern border. Please reply to me personally, as this is my responsibility.
      End

Angien left the booth, wondering if Red had woken up yet... Either way, she knew she had to hurry.
She boarded a supercruiser that was called in... The loyalist crewmembers had been killed, and had been replaced. The Supercruiser rose up, fully cloaked, and sped through the atmosphere. It jumped out of the system, and before long, it reached it's destination. Sheaghi.
It slid through the atmosphere, silently toward it's target, with Angien at the controls. Finally, it's target was in sight. A ring of military force surrounding a few small freightors.
The Supercruiser froze to a halt directly above the army, and no one but the crew had any idea the supercruiser was there.....

    • Horosk - Orbital Shipyards
A large ship sat nestled in the heart of the Horosk Orbital Shipyard Complex, looking almost complete. Anyone who had access to its status, knew that it was almost done, only testing and some final wiring needing to be performed. Anyone who had seen the Azdgari Supercruiser on the news would roughly recognise the shape, although the ship appeared more bulky, it not being meant to land on a planet unlike the Azdgari version. It would soon get its first taste of combat against the Horosks enemies.

    • Yenn opens up all the freighters cargo holds and unloads the rockets.

"The rockets are perfectly good, don't waste them! And the freighters are robotic; they will follow any instuctions givin to them. You may have them, if not, I want them back. The reason I came into your space with all this was because I was on a mission for the Teh' Rak. Now that their government is destroyed, though, I'm rather pissed at them because I spent all this money. I will work for you if you were willing. All I want for the pay is a few million credits and an assimbly line for my "private" needs. I will only need the assimbly line for a short time, but when I am done, it's memory will be erased. You don't need to see what I make; it's my buisness." Yenn pauses to breathe.

"Oh, yeah, I also would like a Crescent Warship with all the upgrades avalible." Yenn seemed to consider something and spoke before the people in front of him could talk.

"On second thought, I don't need an assembly line. I can get what I need strait from the manufacturer."

    • Kyala recieved the message from the Horosk with happiness, and quickly typed out a reply. He was in a good mood this afternoon, as he'd also just recieved word that the Shield Ram Firefly prototype had been completed and was ready for a test flight within the week.

We gladly accept your gift of an energy matrix computer. We will put it to good use to increase our shipyard construction and to aid our research efforts. You have our word that we will not attempt to duplicate it or share it with any other race. You have our thanks, and your ships, as always, are welcome in our space and on our worlds. Welcome, friends, to the New Galaxy.

A heated debate had broken out in the Military Corps complex on South Tip Station. After recieving the message from the Lavrii, there had been great debate as to whether or not the Military Corps should accept the offer for a trade. To do so would help to solidify Kayan friendship with the Lavrii, as well as helping another friendly race defend themselves against the Akrahd clans. Some military officials, though, were not keen on giving up the plans to the Enhanced Defense pods, and though they were the minority, they had made themselves quite vocal about their point of view. The result was a deadlock; neither side had the authority to make the decision. The arguments raged on for days, and finally it was decided to put it to a vote, and allow all military and diplomatic corps officers to vote on whether or not the trade should go through. Commander Lasin decided it would be best not to keep the Lavrii in suspense, and wrote a communique to them to inform them of the situation.

###Point of Origin: Military Corps Headquarters, South Tip Station, Galactica###

This is Commander Lasin speaking on behalf of the Kayan Military Corps. I'm writing this to inform you that your offer to trade for Enhanced Defense Pod has been a great source of debate amongst my colleagues. So great has the controversy been, in fact, that we've had to resort to a vote open to the entire Military and Diplomatic Corps - such is life in a democracy.. Our initial predictions are that the trade will be approved, but we cannot say for sure. We will have the results by three days from now (OOC: next post), and will inform you of the results as soon as they are in. My apologies that I cannot tell you more at the moment, but this is all that I know for now.
