*Updates
A lot of things have been done recently, and none of them have been sufficiently explained.
1. Ne Demord Jamais, take your Strand League ship figures and multiply all the shield figures by 2.5 to start with (it was like that from the beginning.)
2. Upgrades to ZSN ships:
Zirada
Despite the peace between the Azdgari and the Zidagar, the rivalry for the most effective fighter continued. The ZSN poured their effort into trying to make the Zirada as powerful as it could be, and their most recent upgrade shows their effort. Ziradas are extraordinarily well shielded for a fighter, and their firepower is considerable. In recent tests, the Zirada beat the Izar nine out of ten times, despite the size difference.
Designation: Heavy Fighter
Weapons: 2 F.Q. Duelbeams
1 Kyhdron Beamer
1 TT Rocket Launcher - 8 AF Rockets
Shields: 200 (4-layered Turbophase)
Armor: 25 (Tritanium Hull)
Zidara
The Zidara has not been in need of a replacement since the very dawn of the Zidagar. They are a work of art, and have shown no signs of waning. These pocket warships are surprisingly fast, and after deploying their pair of Ziradas, they usually fly along with them, using the combined firepower of four Kyhdron phase beams to tear apart their target quickly. The Zidara is not intended to be in battle for a large time, and its shielding reflects this. However, they tend to dispatch their targets at blinding speeds.
Designation: Destroyer Escort
Weapons: 3 Duelbeam Turreted Systems
2 Kyhdron Beamers
1 Fighter Bay - 2 Ziradas
2 Rocket Launchers - 25 Redfire Dispersal Rockets
Shields: 1100 (15-layered Tachyonic)
Armor: 15 (Tritanium Hull)
Zira
The Zira escort cruiser is a newly developed vessel. They are the best defended of all ZSN vessels, and can take serious damage before being destroyed. They are heavily armed, although can not stand up to the Izagra in one to one combat. It is with their complement of Zirada fighters that the Zira shines as a powerful vessel; the Zira is able to support up to five Ziradas, a force powerful enough to destroy many light warships in itself.
Designation: Escort Cruiser
Weapons: 6 Duelbeam Turreted Systems
3 Kyhdron Turreted Beamers
2 Fighter Bays - 5 Ziradas
3 Rocket Launchers - 40 Redfire Dispersal Rockets
Shields: 4000 (45-layered Tachyonic)
Armor: 15 (Reinforced Tritanium Hull)
3. The Izirion:
Izirion
Izirions were designed to complement the Strand Leagues favoured tactic against the Akrahd; light raiding, never commiting too much ships to the battlefield. Izirions evolved from the Zirada, although they are actually lighter vessels. Typical Zidagar fighter engineering is shown in their construction, coupled with the Igadzra desire of mass production; the Izirion is universally easy to produce. They are fast fighters, with near instant acceleration from thoron engines, and mock their enemies with their manouevrability. They are also very well armed for short periods of time, with three kyhdron beamers built into the vessel, and an easily interchangeable secondary weapon. Wings of Izirions are extremely difficult to damage, especially within the opening of a battle, and they can thus deal damage quickly and disappear before they come under much threat.
Designation: Raider
Weapons: 3 Kyhdron Beamers
1 TT Rocket Launcher - 6 AF Rockets / 1 Particle Railgun
Shields: 100 (4-layered Turbophase)
Armour: 50 (Tritanium Hull)
4. The Anti-fighter Rocket:
Anti-fighter Rocket
It was the fanatic attempts at developing a fighter that surpassed all other fighters that created the anti-fighter rocket, described as the perfect fighter-to-fighter weapon. Anti-fighter rockets do not harm their parent ship, but their blast radius is sufficient to hit between four and eight targets simultaneously, scattering them in the process. As well as their blast radius, AF rockets are fast and deal a very heavy punch, even to a single target.
Shield Damage: 375
Armour Damage: 250
Korellian 4
Of course, "The Red Blade" and "Hand of Iga" weren't heading to reinforce Harnath, as may have seemed apparent. Lariat had instead sent them on a special mission to attack Korellian 4 and make a strike into the Teh'Rak, hopefully penetrating deep into their core worlds and crippling them. It would be one of the Strand League's proudest moments.
The two armadas entered Korellian, defendedby approximately thirty thousand Teh'Rak ships (OOC: I worked out your average, which is quite a bit less than this. I hope this is a close approximation of your border defence, if not, we'll see to it) , once again with all carried Ziradas deployed. Only in cases of very extreme munitional fire did ZSN tend to hold back their fighters for specific moments in battle, rather than risk losing them in the opening of battle.
As they were attacking a well defended position, the IGNA:ZSN co-ordination was somewhat different from the usual supported reef. IGNA were perfect for eliminating stationery defences such as stardocks or, theoretically, Kayan defence drones, due to their armanent of particle railguns. IGNA quickly formed a reef with the ZSN, Ziradas laid out at the head to mop up the bulk of munitional fire. As Ziras and Zidaras now had point defence capable weaponry, they were also near the front line.
The initial target of the IGNA stand-off armada, the Hand of Iga , was the Teh'Rak's station (Star-Dock) in the system. Thousands of railguns targetted it and overwhelmed it with firepower from out of its range, while the entire reef moved backwards, meaning that all missiles fired by the enemy had to travel further, thus having a lower chance of reaching their target.
Railguns also took heavier Teh'Rak targets with Scarab discs rather than aiming for fighters, as the anti-fighter rockets now outfitted on ZSN vessels needed a trial. In this battle, ZSN served as IGNA's back-up, using duelbeam weaponry to stop missiles and anti-fighter rockets to pull down as many as eight fighters at a time in a lucky situation, while IGNA made use of railguns and discs from an extremely long range. The entire force was moving backwards (while facing forwards, inertia), and would very soon be out of range of the Teh'Rak missiles and railguns, while particle railguns and Scarab discs were within easy range.
OOC: considerable damage to your fleet and damaged or disabled star-dock on your hands, NDJ {before you state the TEP on your star-dock, just check to see if it can negate 50,000 damage - 5 seconds fire from 1000 railguns, a tiny amount in my railling powers of over 100,000 railguns. And no, that's not Res-Edit scale)
