What is the purpose of the council. Are there any missions concerning them at all. Thanks.

There aren't any Council missions; they'e just there to add atmosphere and give plug-in developers something to latch on to. They seem to be some sort of ruling body for the race that makes up the three Strands and the Strandless; you may have noticed that the name of their star system (Gadzair) is made up of the same letters as the names Azdgari, Igadzra, and Zidagar.

The Council's purpose is put in mystery in the game. There are no missions in the game, but there are some plugs that deal with it, one that I know of it Beyond the Crescent. The council also likes to keep the Strands balanced.

One plug-in that made an attempt at solving the mystery of the council was "Universe Next Door". Although it's a large plug, the mission string is pretty short and I didn't like it too much.
Someone said that Beyond the Crescent makes use of the Council. How does it?
