'Azdgari, we welcome you to Horosk Prime. For your perusal, a list of our technologies ahs been prepared for you. We believe an alliance between us would be beneficial, and Carrier Task Group 22 has reported that it is ready to assist you against the Akrahd. What do you have to say?'

      --------
      Var'Neth
In the Var'Neth system, Azdgari sensors picked up a disturbance near their collecting fleet. A single Horosk Frigate appeared from sub-space fold, and transmitted a message to the Azdgari, voice only.
'The Horosk are ready to assist the Azdgari in battle. We are ready to take the fight to the Akrahd. When you signal for the battle to be commenced, we will be there with you. We will transmit data on the Akrahd fleet soon, so that you may be prepared.'

With that, the Frigate vanished from sensors, going back into sub-space fold. 50 Frigates had already been sent to the Sheago system, with orders not to leave sub-space fold, and to collect data on the Akrahd fleet, so that the Horosk fleet would know what it faced, and what to target first.

      Lavrii Technologies

      Lavrii Shielding
Lavrii shields are different in several aspects to standard shielding.
Their shields are extremely weak, but recharge very quickly. As a result,
Lavrii ships are destroyed when they are targetted by overwhelming
firepower, and not by multiple encounters. Enemies who have attempted to
take on the Lavrii one by one have been quickly destroyed. Another
important note is that an attack which would usually destroy a Lavrii ship
tends to only destroy the shielding - the armour is unaffected. This means
that in general, at least two hits will be necessary to destroy one of
their ships, but if the damage is three or more times greater than their
shield capacity, this rule does not count.

      Lavrii Shield Regenerator
Since Lavrii ships tend to trade heavy shielding for lightning fast shield
recharge, they quickly realised that when targetted by very heavy weaponry,
they would be at a serious disadvantage; and would likely be destroyed
before their shields could recharge. As such, the Lavrii developed an
add-on to their shield system, which draws their vessel‚s fuel and
instantly recharges the ship‚s shields. As a result, Lavrii shields are
able to stay on the field in critical situations.

      Lavrii Stellar Navy Weaponry

      Polaron Cannon/Battery
The polaron cannon is the Lavrii‚s basic primary weapon. When they were
attacked by the Akrahd, they quickly realised that their standard weaponry
(which was before a type of thoron laser) would not be effective against
such large numbers. They thus designed polaron weaponry, which as well as
damaging the enemy, would also reduce the functuality of communications and
sensors on their target. When under heavy fire, many Akrahd vessels are
unable to detect anything beyond their ship, and have thus been completely
unable to fire with any accuracy.

      Armor Damage: 25

      Shield Damage: 10

      Reload/Speed: Phase on both counts

      Polaron Wave Emitter
This weapon emits waves of polarons similar to that in a polaron cannon.
They make use of the „side effect‰ of the polaron cannon more than they do
damage, although the wave emitter can also be useful for it‚s 360ş
simultaneous fire. At relatively close range, wave emitters can disrupt
both sensors and communications being sent through another ship‚s shields.
Lavrii interceptors are known to enter Akrahd ranks under cover of heavier
ships and completely cut off the Akrahd‚s ability to make tactical
decisions. However, the waves must cover all sides of their target to have
effect, and thus it is impossible for one Lavrii ship to disrupt another
ship - it takes at least two (but a hundred can disrupt another hundred, if
they are not destroyed first). They also have the side effect of bouncing
away enemy ships quite a distance

      Armor Damage: 5

      Shield Damage: 0

      AS Torpedo
The anti-shield torpedo is one of the Lavrii‚s oldest technologies - before
they encounted the armour based Akrahd. Only their older ships actively
employ this weapon. When it collides with shielding, the torpedo scramble‚s
the shield frequency. The result of this is that the enemy cannot fire
without damging their own shields, until the effects have worn off, after a
minute or two. Against the Akrahd, these weapons have mostly proved
effective at halting enemy fire, rather than being very useful to damage
      the enemy.

      Fusion Dart
The fusion dart is a recently developed Lavrii munitional weapon. They are
much smaller than their earlier AS torpedoes, and to make their small size
inexpensive, they lack guiding systems. Fusion darts are launched out of
Lavrii ships extremely fast - several times faster than the speed of a
standard freefire rocket. They are thus capable of greater accuracy.
However, the darts only effect armour, so beyond the Akrahd they would not
      be of particular use.

      Armor Damage: 45

      Shield Damage: 1

      Reload/Range: Javelin Rockets (EV)

      Polaron Heavy Laser
The most powerful single weapon employed by the Lavrii is the polaron heavy
laser. Only the heaviest of Lavrii vessels are capable of directing a
discharge, although the energy of smaller ships can be drawn into the
discharger to amplify the damage. The laser itself takes some time to
charge, and at a minimum three interceptors must supply their energy. On
average, if the four ships all keep together, the polaron heavy laser will
fire every fourty seconds. The effects, as usual, scramble communications
and sensors over a wide area, and when the target‚s shields are
down they can scramble in-ship communications as well. They also have a
second side-effect; it will immediately disable an enemy ships weapons for
10-20 seconds, much like the Anti-Shield Torpedo does.

      Armor Damage: 300

      Shield: 100

Reload/Range: 40 seconds if link is maintained / munitional range

      Polaron Disruptor
Designed to help retreating Lavrii ships, the Polaron Disruptor shoots out a
ball of compressed polaron energy in an ion lattice. Once the ion lattice
degrades and eventually disappears, the polaron energy is released, creating
an area of disrupted polaron energy. Weapons detonate when going through it,
and homing weapons going near it are jammed, though communications are not
really hampered. It is quite useful for retreating fleets, for anything that
touches it is damaged or destroyed.

      Armor Damage: 50 per second

      Shield: 50 per second

Reload/Range: Range and speed of a pursuit missile, with a rather slow
      reload

      Limpet Mine
The limpet mine is one of the „afterthoughts‰ of a battle involving the
Lavrii, and usually the Akrahd. They take special care to eliminate the
shields of as many targets as possible before destroying them, so they can
fire tiny robots known as „limpet mines‰ at the target‚s hull. The mines
begin to tear apart the hull slowly, even after the battle is finished.
They are virtually impossible to detect, and can do some serious damage.
Eventually, they run out of power, and stop functioning. However, if an
Akrahd fleet was to go into hyperspace, the chances are when it returned to
realspace it‚s armour would be severely damaged.

      Armor Damage: 2

      Shield Damage: N/A

Reload/Range: Firing; defence pods, primary range, In effect; damage per
      second, contact range

      Vaesk Warfleet Weapons

Polaron Tractor Beam - Disables a ship slowly and has a very very powerful
tug; almost impossible to escape from. The Vaesk use these a lot when trying
      to board enemy vessels.

Proton Scatter Gun - Fires lots of balls of proton energy everywhere. Good
melee weapon. Inaccurate, but fairly powerful. Average range.
      Shield Damage: 45
      Armor Damage: 45

Concussion Blaster - Fires supercompressed balls of polaron energy at
target. The impact power is something like 5000. Takes a while to reload.
      Average range.
      Shield Damage: 60
      Armor Damage: 60

-S-D-1 will be supported by the T.R.S.T. when its completion will occur. The constant flow of supplies will permit to create a nice outpost that can be moved as we will slowly but surely. The head researcher for the dock had came from Talchul to announce specifications about it.

-Thank you. Now, we have to discuss the matter of its defence. I propose three divisions that would constantly protect the system in which it is, and two that would patrol the bordering worlds, talked Sir Pa.

-As you know, we cannot supply any more divisions strictly to S-D-1, we have to wait until our weekly ship building level increases. There fore, I propose to train each Heart division in Talchul one at the time so that any pilot will know what canbe and what cannot be done near it, said Psack. We only have two hundred fifth thousand ships at our disposition. Do not forget to increase the amount of surveillance in NSI-4200.

Sheagi OCC: RMA, I presume you meant Sheagi when you sent your fifty frigates to spy on me, not Sheago.

-Commander Fri Eag, strange sub-space disturbances have been recorded on the enemy’s exit point hyperlinks. It is the first time we actually sense these kinds of things here around.

      -No it is not.

-Sir, the Azdgari have no cloaking devices of some sort, nor the capacity to disturb the sub-pace environment except by hyper jumping.

-Their old neighbours, the Horoth did have some kind of abilities of these kind. However, the Edien’s wrath made them suffer a lot. Either some have survive or some of their knowledge has been transmitted... Send this to Parliament Hill:

      Message to Parliament Hill coded

A recent sensor pick has demonstrated an unusual present in the area. It is a deformation of the sub-space, which is not possible without an hyper jump, however, not ship entered Sheagi. I therefore presume that either the Azdgari have developed a new system or the extinct Horoth have reappeared, which is highly improbable.

I precipitated the ordered of sending an upgraded-fighter to be sent to Sheago with a message by a day.

If this action is not right, I am ready to face the consequences.

      Commander Fri Eag

A Message from Commander Eag from Sheagi

The pilot, Ralph Vigom in his enhanced fighter was sweating a lot as he started his hyperspace course toward Sheago. To be alone, not escorted by a partner, without a squad, no squadron, no division that can save your rear if you blink your eyes too long... He left Sheagi and started the recording/sending device.

      Sheago

As pilot Vigom came out, he was surprised by the amount and diversity of the present ships. OCC: what ever they are, I don‘t know, but they are known now... He opened the communication link:

-I am ace pilot Vigom from the Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan, here to bring this message:

The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan accepts a Ťsmallť land military presence on Sheagi to promote the Azdgari culture as well as a Azdgari force. However, the Teh’Rak Space Assault will remain master of the system, using whatever number of ships is necessary.

The pilot got prepared to hyper out from Sheago in direction of Sheagi...

Fleet Admiral Torath looked over the comm interceptions the Horosk had been performing, and saw that a new race had made itself known in the LMC, calling themselves the Lavrii. He decided to send a report off to Horosk Prime with details on this species.

      Sheagi
The commander of the Horosk Frigate detachment growled. It looked like the Akrahd had detected them on entering the system. Fleet Admiral Torath would not be happy. Luckily it appeared that the Akrahd had no idea where in the system the Frigates were, and unless a sub-space fold device failed suddenly, it would remain that way. Even then, shield grids remained tuned to stealth properties.

-These damed Azdgari, they cannot remember events that took place a week ago. How can I work this out, the Akrahd Teh'Rak Clan is not surrounded by allies, not by enemies. It is surrounded by immature and childish dummies. We hold our position, no matter what happen, we totalize more that two hundred and ninety thousand vessels located in the Four Arms, but we cannot lose one of them. Recall that fighter, they do not botter at all. I am pissed, such diplomates, politicians as they call themselves just think that they can trow the ball back and forth. No.

-Sir Psack? Do we continue as planned?

      -Absolutely, head towards Sheagi.

      Sheagi

On a stall, high enoughso that the Azdgari in the back of the room could see him, stand Nedeja Psack. The image and sound was transmitted all through Sheagi and a coded link to the AIR.

-I am Nedeja Psack, leader of the Akrahd Teh'Rak Clan. Today, I reiterate last week’s proposal that I have sent to all of you.- look at previous post -

What has happened in the past week is special for all of us and it is only the beginning of a prosperous future between the Azdgari community of Sheagi and the Teh'Rak people that have already settle in few number. We will live together in harmony like all Azdgari and Akrahd have lived in the past, with the difference that we will live together here.

I shall remember to all of you that the military presenve here above is to preserve the Teh'Rak from the unusual behaviour of the Azdgari leader and his many different responses to a single proposition. Soon, the land defence of Sheagi will be endorsed by the Azdgari, but until then, the T.R.T.A. is in charge of the security with units of the police.

The eventuality of letting the Azdgari leave Sheagi still stands. If the AIR accepts to let our civil transporters leave Sheagi with Azdgari to either Sheago or Var’Neth, everything should be fine.

I wish you a good day.

      Thank you.

      Later

-Now, we have to wait for their communication with the other side. I sincerely hope that they will tell the truth on how they were treated: well, since nothing has changed aside from the Ťrestrictiveť hours of social commitment.

-A message from the Akrahd Valanor Clan, Sir.

-Are you kidding, there was some electromagnetic jamming over Korellian II or what! Send them this:

Message to the Akrahd Valanor Clan coded

Your response is one of honesty and shall be treated with honesty. The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan desires to kept its independency for it feels that the Akrahd blood is not yet endangered. In a case that would promote the fall of the Akrahd people in the Large Magellanic Cloud, such consideration could be taken.

Also, we know few things about your Clan, it has been quiet for the last decade and all of a sudden lightens up. Therefore, with this pact I would have to assist you no matter the risk involved and since I know little about your external relations, aside from last Clan meeting twenty years ago, I refuse to vow to Ťassist you in any dilemma encounteredť.

However, I accept a pact of total none aggression between our two Clans, but I do not open our prosperous gates to you.

We shall discuss soon our mutual military assistance more in detail to reach a beneficial agreement that will satisfy our two great Akrahd Clans.

      Sincerely,

      Nedeja Psack

A Message from the Akrahd Teh‘Rak Clan

-Has Ralph Vigom come back from Sheago?

-No Sir, but it should not take long, if he is well.

      --------------------------

In the Warpgate X'el system, everything looked fine, until something went very wrong.

Without warning, their was an energy buildup from somewhere inside the mysterious structure. The Shar'Nadda began to panic as the energy increased, and suddenly the warpgate itself began to glow bright magenta. In a flash of purple, the infestation on the surface of the warpgate was vaporized out of existence, and the energy ready gradually dissipated.

The Shar'Nadda were left to wonder what on earth triggered the strange reaction from the alien structure...

As Espona, leader of the Valanor, finished up writing a message off to the Teh'Rak, one of his cheif advisors entered the room. His name was Akelar, a long-time Valanor warrior and a sly politician. As he looked over Espona's shoulder at the message, he growled then grinned deviously.

"A non-aggression pact to the Teh'Rak?" he asked, beginning to walk around the room. "Giving up a VALANOR base to these people who do not act like true Akrahd? We can't let these people push us around. We are the VALANOR! We are the powerful ones! We are the ones who will bring the end of the Tronoak! We are the ones who will crush our foes! You can't just give away our bases. We rule through intimidation. Show the Teh'Rak what you are made out of. They want a base, they can give us something for it. NEVER be intimidated by a smaller and lesser race, Espona. NEVER back down."

Leaving Espona to contemplate his words, Akelar walked off...

    • Grunadulater was getting angry at the object in Warpgate X'el. He told about 500 fighters to look around the surface for any sort of opening. After hours of working, not one had found even the smallest scratch. It was as if this thing was perfectly smooth. even when a Latcher tried to grab it, it almost slid off. Suddenly, a Latchre reported that it had found a small round blemish on the ship

The Latcher shot plasma at the scratch, but it only slid right off. Then it very carefully poked the spot with one of its claws. The blemish began to go inward, then spreading along the surface of the ship. When it stopped doing this, it seemed to have a rather large hole, perfectly round, on the side of the thing. The Latcher carefully flew in, and the hole closed behind it.

Inside the Gate, there was a large chamber and then a long corridor. The Latcher crawled into the corridor and walked, for what seemed miles, before it got to a wall. There were nine indentations on the wall, all positioned so that it was a 3 by 3 dent square. The Latcher turned, thinking it went the wrong way, but behind it there was only a wall. Walls on all sides. The Shar' Nadda got out and pressed the middle dent. It came outward so that there was no dent anymore, just smooth wall. Then, behind it, there was no wall as there had been when the Latcher first entered the room. The pilot climed back into the Latcher and walked down the corridor. It finaly came to a room with a seat and a control panal. The Latcher pilot got out, and walked over to the controls...

Prime Minister Kyala and Military Corps Commander Lasin sat together in a private meeting room in the residence segment of the government complex. Lasin's message had sounded urgent, requesting an immediate meeting with Kyala. Now, less than ten minutes later, they sat, ready to discuss whatever was the matter.

"We in the Military Corps are increasingly disturbed by the Akrahd clans and their continued threat," Lasin said. "Though we have the advantage of being insulated from the Akrahd border by the Strand League and Azdgari, our space could still be vunerable if one of the the Strand League or Azdgari systems we're helping to protect is taken. We need to have a strong border, and be able to supply our allies with help in defending their front lines. As the refugee races, we will stand or fall together."

"And what do you propose to help us do this?" Kyala asked. Lasin was of the older generation, the one which had been in power when the first wars with the Akrahd had broken out almost a quarter century ago. Kyala was of a younger generation, one which was far less militarily oriented. Understandably he was skeptical military motives.

"We need a military base in Ver'Hath," Lasin replied. "It will help keep one doorway to our space closed, and will give us a staging point to coordinate defense to help protect Strand League and Azdgari bases. It will strengthen the defensive position for both us and our allies."

Still Kyala looked skeptical. "Every military corps officer I've asked is in favor of this," Lasin said, "and I already have the approval of the Senate. All I need is your go-ahead. Will you let us do this?"

After a few moments, Kyala relented. "Okay, but keep in mind that this is a purely defensive measure. You of all people should know that our code of conduct, not to mention overwhelming public support, dictates that we can't initiate a first strike."

"Of course, Prime Minister," Lasin said. "Our objective is to keep our space safe and to increase our ability to help defend our allies. You will not regret this decision."

-Sir, another anomaly in the jumping sector of NSI-9002. It is quite large when I compare it to the recorded anomaly that occurred in Sheagi.

      -Send this to Teh’Rak:

Message to Parliament Hill , coded

While patrolling NSI-4200much larger incongruity has happened. Strangely, it had been present for the last seventeen hours. We have no way of saying what it is, a scouting squadron has been send in the area, with no results. We will remain here waiting has planned. Admiral Rialto is supposed to join us to patrol the system to protect Sheagi from any backyard incursion.

A Message from Patrol Battalion PB.12.3, Admiral Rialti

      T.R.S.A. Dangerous , Sheagi

-Inactivity is dangerous... I remember an Ytalyan play in which at each silence between a verbal fight, a dramatic event occurred, I said to Fri Eag.

-Sir Psack, I do believe we should do a preventive strike to measure their abilities again, when they do wait after us.

-You might be right, but you know how stretch we are... We have more than three hundred thousand ships to defend our self. We face a six hundred thousand navy, with alliances, a sleepy one and a shadowed one. Then, there is this report about the two anomalies, one really large and always there in NSI-4200.

      Later

-All right, you have convinced me. The T.R.S.A. has to be rearranged from the heart: no more divisions as a system to protect the systems, but battalions of composed of the same amount of ships as a division. With this system, we can use little over thirty thousand more ships. These battalions are the same as the ones that form divisions, so it will not matter to train them differently.

-You should have thought about this earlier, it might be too late.

-But our shipyards are now ready to mass produce ten thousand ships per two weeks instead of six or eight, they will be trained enough when they will be called.

-Affirmative Sir, I leave you with your advisors.

-The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan awaits your victory! Back to subtle foreign politics.

Message to the Akrahd Valanor Clan , coded

I apology for responding so quickly, our northern border faces some forty thousand ships of the Azdgari Imperial Raiders. We accept the total cooperation between our two nation for the best of the Akrahd blood. However, we shall come to more profitable

Therefore, we would accept the military presence of ten thousand Valanor ships in Korellian that would be used in coordination with the T.R.S.A.

We accept to give to you the blue prints for the anti-matter weaponry of some ships designs. The eleven divisions of Korellian II are reduced to seven.

I hope that we can reach an agreement.

      Nedeja Psack.

      Now the hardest one...

Message to the Pirate System of Dilgu , coded

I demand your authorisation to pass by Dilgu without being attacked.

The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan will pay the sum of eighty million credits and give you the blue prints for the anti-matter weaponry.

A Message from the Akrahd Teh‘Rak Clan

      Sheagi

-Gentlemen we are ready to act. Unsafe all weapons and warm these motors. Do not attack the Pirates.

Seven of the eleven divisions moved towards Dildu, totalising twenty thousand seven hundred and twenty ships.

      Dilgu

      A moderator shall decide

      Sheago

The seven divisions moved towards the AIR ships with an effect of carnage. The Azdgari were attacked from all sides the long range Storm hit the packs of Azdgari with some crude effect and the Hail missile crippled the squadrons of Aradas. The rail guns damaged under a continuous fire the Igadzra and carrier of the enemy’s navy. The fighters pursued the Laziras and the Missile Boats used their anti-matter battery to blast await the Azdaras. Then the core of the T .R.S.A. crashed into the core of the AIR. The thorium and heavy thoron beams ripped right through the hull of the ships.

      New Technology: Polaron Scatter Turret
With the completion of the Polaron Scatter Gun, work has begun on the Polaron Scatter Turret. Simply a Polaron Scatter gun mounted on an auto-tracking coaxial turret, the Polaron Scatter Turret will not take very long as it uses no new technology. (4 posts)

    • Shaego
Fleet Admiral Torath had looked at the sensor reports detailing the Akrahd fleet leaving the Sheagi system, and had decided to play it safe. 250 Carriers with escorts had set course for Shaego, and they had waited.

As the Akrahd chased the Azdgari ships with their fighters, they found easy prey, outnumbering the Azdgari considerably. Then, over 40,000 Interceptors and Fighters swarmed the inferior Akrahd ships. The Akrahd had simply not seen it coming, the fighter craft having hidden under stealth mode and kept emissions to a minimum. The Akrahd fighters simply vanished under the massive fighter swarm, barely knowing what had happened. The Horosk did not intend for any of them to survive.

At the same time, the Akrahd fleet found thousands of rockets smashing into it from behind, causing massive damage. Along with them, thousands of concussion missiles hit, targeted at the Battleships, aimed to destroy as many as possible.

      Horosk Ship Numbers:
      250 Main Carriers
      500 Light Carriers
      4000 Cruisers
      12000 Frigates
      37500 Interceptors
      5000 Heavy Fighters

OOC:Please note that the Interceptors use their AP Beam strips to shoot down munitions, and the larger ships do the same with their turrets. Also note all Horosk ships have stealth, meaning locking onto them is hard, and when you do, they flip the settings over to jamming, which means guided stuff goes screwy. And all carriers are currently hiding in sub-space fold. Other Horosk ships have orders to go and hide should they be charged. They'll still fire weapons while running though. Also note I havent done any loss figures, because I tend to do it wrong, and get shouted at. Luckily I trust my enemy.

Hides a ship under sub-space folds. Essentially a cloak. A ship cant be detected when it is active. Covers a wider area than other cloaks. On all ships bigger than Frigate.

      Energy Armour
Projected armour. cant absorb much damage, but due to its fast recharge rate, acts as an armou dampener, and means ships can easily recover from minor hits.

      Tractor/Repulsor
Advanced Tractor/Repulsor. Used to muck enemy ships up.

Also have Phoenix-class battleships,a nd I cant seem to find the stats at the momen.t It's essentially a supercruiser type ship.
