    • The problem with a lot of webstories here on the EVO board it that it's all about politics, huge fleet-to-fleet battles, fleet movements, research, and things like that, and there's not enough individual character development, unless, say, you're a lone mercenary or some such, (which is what I prefer to be), and too much 'background development' pointed glare at Carno. Basically, nothing big really happens to you unless you're a government leader or high up on the statistical food chain. I know Carno's EH story is meant to be for character development and minimal BD, but I think he's gone overboard with realism.

And by the way, Carno, it would be possible to fit an anti-matter and plasma warhead on a missile; it just needs to be a big missile. 🙂

    • The expanding debris glittered like the light of a thousand pieces of shattered glass; the image was one of horror, a horror that burned itself into the retina of the young man watching. The sudden burst of fear, hatred, and death screamed out into his mind, and was abruptly silenced. This wasn’t happening, he told himself, and yet somehow, he couldn’t honestly decieve himself like this. As the cloud of released gas and pressure began to dissipate, so too did his life... Rarkyl General Iranavn started in a sweat, the horrible image haunting him again. He couldn’t allow his life to dwell in the past like this; he needed to move on.

Realizing that he’d only been asleep for a few minutes, the General decided to make his way to the bridge, where his fleet would be exiting from hyperspace in just one hour. Iranavn cleared his mind of that last horrible vision, and prepared to bring war to the Federation and their allies.

      ••••••**

Platoons of Federation Marines descended into the tiny bridge compartment of the Rarkyl Heavy Freighter, seeming to overwhelm the two lone occupants.

The Rarkyl archons reached out with telekinetics, confusing and distracting the marines, and the crew from the attached Federation Frigate. With a ripple of thought, one of the Archon’s ignited the payload of expolsives held within the depth of the rather large freighter, incinerating all of the ships inhabitants, as well as that of the connected Frigate.

As emergency ships raced towards the billowing fireball, a set of new ships appeared in the system. Thousands of Rarkyl ships had just dropped out of hyperspace, ready to obliterate any opposing Federation forces.

      ••••••**

“Imperator Volarich,” The tired looking projection said. “It appears that the invasion is going as planned. Are you ready to begin the next phase of our operation?” Supreme Emperor T’esqure inquired.

“Not quite, your Excellency,” the Imperator stated. He stared at the larger than life sized prjection, deep in thought. Somehow, the Emperor seemed wrong. He shrugged it off as the nervous gait of a man weary of assassination. “We still have many preparations to make before this plan can begin in earnest, but I assure you, we will be ready on schedule.”

“Very good, Imperator. I also suggest you begin increasing border defense, particularily in the Corell system. Intelligence has warned me of the increasing threat of a preliminary Horosk attack, and we can’t be caught off guard.” Sul'maoiac T'esqure continued.

“Yes, my master,” Volarich responded, bowing down in a sign of repect. By the time he resumed his posture, the Emperor had vanished.

Ever since the scare with the Ediens, Volarich had noticed that T'esqure appeared to be behaving rather oddly. A post analysis of the Ediens showed that these were beings no longer associated with the disgusting Edien order. What had they wanted with the supreme ruler of the Rarkyl Dominion? Volarich pondered the question for a moment, considering the possibilities. Whatever it was, the pathetic Ediens proved to be no match for the combat prowess of the Supreme Emperor; a living symbol of the Rarkyl’s will to survive and conquer.

      ••••••**

Thousands of Rarkyl gunboats swarmed the defenders, seeming to overwhelm their opponents with too many small targets. The various cruisers and combat carriers charged the Federation forces, pouring Nova cannon fire into every approaching target.

And standing on the bridge of the command ship, The Rarkyl Battleship Behemoth , General Iranavn looked out upon it all. "Order our defending fighters into delta position, and make sure they remain close to the cruisers.” The short General ordered.

The comm officer nodded and relayed the message, and a small swarm of fighters regrouped and headed towards the Behemoth.

The battle seemed to be going surprisingly well for the Rarkyl invasion force. But Iranavn would not let arrogance get in his way. He had seen to many competent commanders wind up dead because of the carelessness of false confidence. These Federation types were clever, and Iranavn wouldn’t put it past them to have a few surprises waiting for the invaders.

“Stay on alert,” the General ordered. “Today is going to be a Rarkyl Victory!” The morale of the entire Dominion depended on their success here today, and Iranavn would not fail.

"Ha! Ait Gai'd!" Kai'asi cried, bringing his revii, the long, thin sword traditionally used by the Lavrii, up into the "ready" position.
Opposite him on the mat his friend Ai'siu, the Arbiter of the Alien Relations, moved her own sword into the "ready" position. Both Lavrii stood still for a second, then spun into a bur of movement, revii flashing in the sunlight. Finally they slowed, Ai'siu with her revii at Kai'asi's throat.
      "Gai'd ta'ai." She said victoriously.
"You win." Kai'asi replied. "Now are you going to send that message to the other factions?"
" My enemy's enemy is my friend." Ai'siu quoted. "Of course. I sent it before I arrived at the training floor, friend. I will give you a transscript, if you wish."
"Indeed, let me see it." Kai'asi said.
Ai'siu extracted a folded printout from her pocket, and handed it to him.
Interested, Kai'asi unfolded it, and began to read.

The combined fleet had enough firepower to overwhelm almost any border defence. And just incase it could not win by itself, 24 massive Pheonix BattleShips escorted them. And everything but a portion of the frigates was cloaked. And sincer the Horosk didn't like to take chances, another 15% of the Horosk Navy was nearby, ready to follow up. "Prime Minister," Thunder greeted Kyala with a smile, which Kyala returned. "So, I hear you have an assignment for me?"

"We've recieved a message from the Lavrii asking us to join them to talk about possible trade between our two races. I realize you've only recently returned from your trip to visit the Horosk, but I believe you're the best man for the job."

"I'm always ready to serve you and the Kayan people," Thunder answered. "I'll prepare my ship immediately."

    • In response to both the Horosk and Lavrii messages, two ships take off from an Azdgari border system, one toward horosk prime (escorted by 4 azdgari aradas and 10 fighters), and one Igadzra to Lavrii space, Escorted by 4 laziras, 10 aradas, and 18 azdaras.

Redchigh screamed. He sped out of his office, to the war room. He hands an ensign all of the proposed R&D; on his desk, with no more than a glance to each one.

He waved to the Telecom, and yelled "Kayans and Horoth!!!" The officers knew what he meant. Angien opened a message, and typed quickly.
      Message to: Kayans and Horoth
      From: KaCe- Azdgari Telecommunications officer
Greetings allies. I speak on behalf of Redchigh himself. Our space has come under attack by a massive Akrahd Teh-Rak invasion. We can likely hold them off, but we will require assistance for rebuilding our defences after this..
      Thanks.
      End

Meanwhile Red walked on, to overview the battle. He talks outloud to his officers. "Ok, now Sheagh is a minor outpost. I say we just give it to them and avoid heavy losses."
A female commander named Angien speaks.."You're kidding. We have to show them who's boss!"
Red rolled his eyes and spoke first.. "Angie, that's a waste. I'll admit there are times when war is best, but this is not one of them. We're going to Evacuate. Even though you're violent, I have to take a break. You command it. I need rest... You're my second-in-command anyway. This is your job."
Red walked off, and Angien has a grin on her face. She walks to the Telecom and begins issuing orders.
"Azdara Defense squadrons 3A - 5C, hold relative positions, engage shield Rams and avoid hostile fire. Igazra Squadron Omega, Launch Shield Drones."She watched the screen as half the Azdaras break off, and glow a bright green as their ram charges up, and she smiles as almost a dozen spheres green and yello striped spheres are launched by a squadron of Igazras. The Spheres drift until they're close to a Teh-Rak Necromancer, then the drone begins glowing, with a bead reaching out from the Necro.'s shield grids and the Drone.. The beads meet as the shields are slowly depleted and the energy is absorbed by the drones. After a minute or two, the drone suddenly explodes violently, delivering additional damage to the ship. This process continues, delivering massive damage to the invading fleets.
While this is happening, Angien was contacting Shaego and Var'Neth space defences, and ordering several squadrons of Igazra and Carrier reinforcements.

She notes that Azdara fleets 3A-5C are being pursued by several fighters and Necromancers, and the Azdaras are glowing a bright bright green. She opens a private hail. "This is where you know what to do. 180 degree turn, NOW! You know the drill!"
Suddenly the Azdaras turn around, and begin to storm straight toward the pursuers.
The small Teh-Rak barely have time to react as the Azdaras storm into the Shield grids...and bounce off. The effect is comical, but it's the Shield Ram at work. With each impact, the Tah-Rak squadron's shields are decreased, with the fighters only taking a few impacts before some azdaras crash through their hulls, elgulfing both in flame... the Azdara shoots out the other side, heavily damaged, but very much alive.
Phase-Neutron strafe over the Teh-Rak hulls, as Transports take off from the planet.. Although several are destroyed, half make it out of the system...Anything below a Lazira Destroyer quickly jumps out, and the remaining fleet launches Shield Drones before they, too, jump out.
Several already-damaged Teh-Rak ships are finished off by the Shield Drones.

Also, something's bugging me about this webstory ... I'm not about to quit, but I join webstories so I can focus on the writing. However, this story seems to be almost purely driven by the plot (fleet movements, ship production, etc.), and that's been about as easy to follow as War and Peace for a 3-year-old. I'm having trouble keeping track of just the stuff that concerns me, let alone the story as a whole. I don't know if this is the way the last two stories in this series have been, but it seems to me that this way of doing it isn't particularly fun for anyone except (maybe) the oracles who get to know what's going to happen. Case in point: in the post that follows, almost everything I'm doing is just reaction to previous events, but I have no room for any character development or anything. Just my two cents, and to reiterate, I'm going to stay in it for now.)

      ---
Shayborg, the newly minted Interim Governor of the Sladerei, gazed at the viewscreen "window" of his office. "Map, Edien frontier." The screen was flooded with a composite image from the southern sensor net, replete with battle histories and statistics. Shayborg studied the numbers for a little while.

The Edien had been a bit more troublesome than usual for the past couple of days, but his commanders had been using hit-and-run attacks, enhanced by the Cloaking Device and the maneuverability afforded by Multi-Kinetic Engines, to full advantage to keep them from massing large fleets. They had lost a few fighters and missile boats when they'd been taken down before they had a chance to recharge shields, but the Sladerei still decisively had the upper hand in these skirmishes. Despite this, shayborg frowned. The rate of ship loss was not negligible, and while at current rates the shipyards were having no trouble replenishing the ship supply, if the Edien stepped up their attacks, the shipyards might have trouble. Something needed to be done about the Edien; he would see to that later.

"Map, Horosk frontier." A similar view of the northeastern corner of Sladerei space came up. Shayborg grimaced; the news here was much more grim. Traders attempting to travel through here were being slaughtered wholesale by Edien and pirates in Asani vessels. A couple billion credits in cargo had been lost in the past standard week, the bulk in the NGC-3776 system. He would need to take action on that later as well.

"Map, northern frontier." Shayborg raised his eyebrows in the closest he ever came to alarm. A new group of pirates, using Asani ships, had been pillaging the relatively lightly defended northern frontier. The existing fortifications had been overperforming, managing to keep the rogues from doing serious damage, but tthis situation would need to be remedied.

"Messages." The computer had automatically filtered all the ones that could be handled by an underling, leaving only the most important for the Governor himself. He skimmed through the messages, pausing on one from the Horosk. Very interesting , he thought to himself, making a mental note to reply later.

Shayborg sat back down and leaned back, deep in thought. With the aid of the Horosk, he could probably make the Horosk-Sladerei trade route safe for merchants, at the same time keeping the Edien too busy to harass the Sladerei forces along the Edien-Sladerei frontier. This would then free up forces and resources to guard the northern border as well. Satisfied with the way things were working out, the Governor started issuing the commands to bring his plan into action.

      Sheagi

Commander Fri Eag reacted promptly to the Ťnewť Azdgari weapon, the shield-drone, and ordered its three-three-square formation to loose the space in-between each ships so that the Azdgari absorption and explosion radius would have less effect on the Teh’Rak Space Assaulters.

Never the less, the T.R.S.A. continued its fearful attack of on the Azdgari forces. The long range Typhoon missile drifted towards the transports trying desperately to evade Sheagi, but many of them could not endure such punishment and many vessels were destroyed.

The almost kamikaze tactic used by squadrons of Azdara were useful against the much slower Teh’Rak fighter, but had to face the anti-matter battery of the Missile Boats, which devastated them.

      Sheagi Battle: ( Final? )

      Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan:

-2500 damaged fighters and Missile Boats + 200 undamaged.
      -1700 damaged warships + 600 fine.
      -500 damaged Necromancers + 100 all right.
      -290 damaged Battleships + 50 adequate.
      Total:
      -4990 damaged vessels + 950 undamaged ships.

      Azdgari:

      - Some less than 1/2 destroyed military ships out of ??? + 1/20 destroyed escaping civil ships. All the rest escaped.

Sheagi is now an Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan system.

      ..............................................................................

      Korellian

The news of the capture of Sheagi by the T.R.S.A. had raised the moral of the troops and could now see that their long training had served their friends. The Vel.I.Div1-2 were sent to Korellian to replace the sixth and fifth Korellian divisions that moved towards Sheagi, escorting a fleet of the The’Rak Space Transport. They would be needed to secure the system and install all the equipment needed to sustain Teh’Rak ordinary life.

      Sheagi

Fri Eag looked at the reports coming from all remaining divisions. Things were not as bright as they had hoped. The drone did a lot of damage to the warships with its strange capacity to suck the shield out of the ship and then explode. Anti-matter battery crew tried to shot at it, but it was too small and when hit, one out of thousands of tries, the energy was simply absorbed by the device. A report was sent to Teh’Rak about this Azdgari weapon. When the first terrestrial assaulters landed, they stormed each building triing to find some evidences that would help, but in vain. The T.R.S.A. ships were repaired using the Azdgari facilities and more ships were returned to their past glory.

As for the Azdgari population, they could work and leave their habitations from seven to seven during the day. The workers and their superiors were paid for all resulting problems from these special hours. Fri Eag would also have to prepare a forum of the remaining Azdgari to explain to them the Teh’Rak standards.

      Talchul

The Space-Dock was now under real construction and one could see every working stations packed altogether, S-D-1 was still small. The Kayan senate has authorized me to send ships to aid in your defense. With your permission, we wish to deploy 50,000 Kayan vessels, 10,000 of which will be defense drones, in each of the systems of Shaego and Var'Neth. An additional 75,000 ships will be stationed in orbit of the Kayan colony on Luk'Nath, ready to reinforce our mutual defenses against a Akrahd Teh'Rak attack. Hopefully when the Teh'Rak see that we stand together, they will back off and give you time to rebuild your defenses. If not, we are prepared to fight to help defend your colonies. I just hope that this conflict doesn't spiral into all out war.

Thunder stepped out of his shuttlepod onto the surface of the Lavrii capitol. His ship was waiting in orbit, as he had decided that it might be more proper to arrive via a non-military vessel. There were several Lavrii around, and Thunder walked over to the nearest and greeted him with a traditional Kayan salutation before speaking. "Greetings on behalf of the Kayan Alliance. Could you tell me where I might find the Tribunal of the Arbiters?"

      Parliament Hill, Teh’Rak

The Provincial Leaders of the Teh’Rak Clan were worried by the reports of Fri Eag that mentioned a heavy build up of ships in the surrounding systems of Sheagi They voted a special motion that would send five more divisions to Sheagi over the week ( between now and next post ) to show them that the Teh’Rak would not accept to let the Azdgari get this system back.

      T.R.S.A. Dangerous, Outpost Nil‘Syria

Nedeja was in his quarters, waiting for a response from the Akrahd Valanor Clan when he received a transmission from Parliament Hill:

-So we now possess Sheagi... I hope that the Azdgari do not value this system too much, because it will serve us as an avant-garde system. What nice words could I tell them... I should have wrote to them before, they did not care much about us, only sending raids of few hundred ships. Well:

Message to the Azdgari Imperial Raiders coded

Though the most recent meeting between our two nation was an unethical one, I sincerely hope that it will not make this conversation to difficult to swallow. I need a guaranty that the Azdgari Imperial Raiders will not offend our nation territory by sending raiders in the direction of either Korellian or Sheagi. I on the behalf of the Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan swear not to offend the Azdgari Imperial Raiders’ national borders once again.

The divisions sent over the week are only a formality to make sure that our attack was not done in vain, for the sole purpose to be taken back. The Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan does not want anymore lives to be lost on either side of our border.

I wish you a good day Sir Red Chigh, as well as no more confrontation between us.

      Thank you,

-It sure looks like the last simulation blow the hell out of our heads, said the security manager! The test of the miniaturized warhead had exploded a millionth of a second too early and blew the sensor equipment.

-Well...at least we can say that the explosives works and very well. This man had been injured, but not severely. So, the calculations are right, this time?

-Yes sir, we can redo the evaluation of the warhead.

-Then start now, we cannot wait any longer.

A few experimentations were performed during the night and the team came back to work after some hours of sleep.

-I reread my notes in my Grooo (a futuristic car) and came to the conclusion that the direct hit would cause a maximum shield damage of 250 and about the same for an impact against armour. As for the secondary explosions, 250 at very short range and 175-200 at short medium range. Still the same against armour, this Survenant warhead is quite versatile...

      Battle of Lakai

The Federation forces were caught off guard, but not for long. As two battlecruisers eliminated the Rarkyl frieghter before it could do any more damage, several huge waves of warships were sent up from the planet.

Moving into a defensive formation in-between the planet and the invading Rarkyl, the Federation unleashed hellish barrages of weapons against the Rarkyl. This was one good thing about the Federation when fighting the Rarkyl; their fusillades of missiles and torpedoes could cause a lot of havoc, and the Rarkyl weren't the best at Jammers.

As the battle progressed, the Federation fleet simply blocking and blowing away any sort of advance the Rarkyl tried to make, the Federation called in more reinforcements, as well as the Federation Dreadnaught Daemon. The only thing the Federation could do was hold off the Rarkyl long enough for the Daemon to arrive along with her escort fleet.

      -------------------

      Fall of the Tronoak

Cheiftan Hezel'kula looked over the vast city of Tharvaeon; the capitol city of the Tronoak, and now the center of war. Just minutes ago, word had reached Hezel'kula that the 'emporer' of the Akrahd Empire and the leader of the Tronoak clan had been assassinated.

"How did it happen?" Hezel'kula asked darkly, his eyes not moving from the view before him.

"The reports say that a group of heavily armed fanatics rushed the palace guards and shot their way into the throne room. The emporer was shot repeatedly, and the guards were also killed. Akrahd Shock-troopers moved in and killed the fanatics later."

Hezel'kula was unmoved by it all. "Do you know what this means, Akkura?"

Akkura was silent for a moment. "No, I don't, sir."

"The end of the Tronoak, Akkura. The end of a legacy of unparalleled rule. It may not be apparent, but it will come. I sensed it from the beginning of the rule of this latest emporer; he was not strong enough. He was corrupt. It was only a matter of time before he resigned or was executed, and only a matter of time before another 'emporer' takes his place; a power-hungry emporer who will bring about the fall of this clan."

"But sir, you know that it's treason to say such things!"

Hezel'kula laughed. "Yes, but soon Tronoak rules will mean nothing. What of the Gamaera, our allies? They will fall defending us from ourselves, or fall honorably defending us from invaders. What of the Arkanok? They despise us for our misdoings to them. What of the Thalleon? We throw them out, despise them, tear their fleets apart, murdur their people. What about the Teh'Rak? They are too far away to do anything, and care only for themselves. And..." He paused as the sky seemed to darken. "...What of the Valanor..." He paused again, his face pale. "...the Valanor..."

Akkura stood silently by his side, looking at the ground. "What of them?" he asked in a whisper.

      "They're coming..."

      -------------------

Cheiftan Ekurra, one of the many ruling Tronoak cheiftans, walked forward towards the podium at one end of the huge room, now filled with warriors from all the clans, but the majority of them were definitely Tronoak. It was time to put forth a new emporer; a Tronoak emporer if everything went according to Ekurra's plans.

"My friends and warriors!" Ekurra shouted as he stepped up to the podium. "Today, our emporer is dead, but we will now have a new emporer; a strong emporer! Who, my friends, do you wish to be emporer?"

"Ekurra!!!" the Tronoak warriors all shouted in unison. The warriors from the other clans said nothing, but many of them muttered cheiftans from other clans, but none dared to yell them.

"Then it is done!" Ekurra shouted.

"It is done indeed..." a dark figure behind Ekurra growled. In an instant, a foot-long knife plunged into the back of the Tronoak cheiftan. Ekurra clutched at the blade as it portruded from his chest, blood oozing out of the huge wound. He coughed up blood, then lifted a tortured face up to the assembled warriors.

"It is..." he coughed up more blood, "...is...done...my doomed tronoak...." And with that, the cheiftan and the last hope for the Tronoak collapsed and fell to the ground, dead.

Immediately, Akrahd shock assault troopers poured into the room and quickly disarmed the present warriors. As Ekurra's bloody and lifeless body was dragged away, a new cheiftan arose to the platform. His name was Azarra, and was not a cheiftan, but a warlord; one of the best and most fearsome of all the Tronoak generals. Nobody knew this, but Azarra was in fact originally from the Derash; the renegade and despised clan. He had joined up with the Thalleon, and then later the Tronoak, and had during his service as cheif warlord had carved a path of nothing but death, murdur, and devastation. He was crazy, some said in secret where Azarra's spies could not here them, and was power hungry to the extreme; everyone knew that.

"I am your emporer now!" Azarra declared. "Anyone who wishes to protest, can step forward now.

Only one warrior stepped forward; a Valanor. His body was painted black and covered with armor, and in both hands he held jagged-edged swords. His purple eyes bored deep into Azarra, and his stare was as cold as stone.

"You may be the emporer now," he said, and as he did so Azarra nodded and the shock troopers pointed their rifles at the Valanor warrior. "but I swear, from this day until the death of the Akrahd, the Valanor will seek to have you killed." He grinned evily. "And I know you're afraid. You're so afraid, you'll have me shot now, rather than duelling with me in honorable combat."

As the shock troopers fired their guns, the plasma pulses ripping through the Valanor's body, the warrior remained still to the end. "I curse you, Azarra.... I curse you and all of your scum..." And with that, the Valanor fell to the ground, and silence enveloped the room. It would not be long before the Valanor's spies learned of what had transpired, and it would not be long before the Valanor emporer and all Valanor warriors knew of the sacrifice of that young warrior...

-Sir Go Aler, what are the reports for the present projects?

-The Storm Torpedo will be completed in a few weeks, six to be precise and S-D-1 two weeks later.

-Are there still seven divisions in Korellian II? If so, add two more from Teh’Rak II, if not, bring that number to nine divisions. Solidify the other three arms with an additional division. Make sure that Sheagi remains Teh’Rak by leaving all personnel on red alert even in their sleep. Please tell me if the ship production has replaced all lots in Sheagi and if the recruits will be trained soon enough and well enough.

-Everything is on my list Sir and will be done as you said.

      -Now leave me alone.

-What about the range of the Storm torpedo, asked the explosive staff section to the propulsion team?

-Using a high efficiency engine and a low cruising speed is able to hit a ship a bit less than 1300 universal length units away. The nice thing comes from its slow acceleration, which spoils less fuel in an excessively speedy exit from the launcher. As for the three axis lateral boosters, they are coordinated to direct in a split second the torpedo in all directions. If it overpasses the target, it can perform a 180 degrees spin in twice that time without stopping, than accelerating to stop its course and then explode violently.

-Have you sent the report to Sir Psack, he is waiting after each of them to better plan our future?

    • Lieutenant Kivan looked on as his Military Corps forces performed maneuvers in the Centuar system. Fireflies and Aradas practiced evasive maneuvers, and Laziras ran strafing and bombing runs on floating practice targets. The system contained a single habitable planet with two moons. The planet, called Trillia, was the focus of a colonization effort by the Engineering Corps. Several crystalline spires, a trademark of Kayan architecture, could already be seen in the new colony, still heavily under construction. About five kilometers to the northeast of the colony site a mining operation was being built, in an effort to get at sources of metal and liquid-crystalline compounds buried deep beneath the planet's surface.

Kivan quickly bored of watching the sights of the Centuar system, fighters running maneuvers and freighters coming and going from the surface of the planet. He turned on his holovid, and tuned in on the MNN - Magellenic News Network - the foremost news source in the New Galaxy. The current story was an in depth look at the political and cultural effects of the Teh'Rak occupation of Sheagi. Kivan looked on with a slightly worried look - he sincerely hoped that the Teh'Rak conflict would not expand beyond the Sheagi system, and hopefully the galaxy would remain in a state of relative peace. His thoughts reminded of his training in the military academy, especially as his glance fixed on a plaque fastened to the wall of the bridge of his vessel, the K.A.S. Amity, containing the motto of the Military Corps: "Peace first, harmony second, violence last." Hopefully, he thought to himself, he would never find himself in a situation where violence was the only solution.

-The eastern Large Magellenic Cloud’s public opinion of the action of the Teh’Rak is not one of contentment. I will show to them what the Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan people really are.

Message to the Azdgari Community of Sheagi: free of encryption

I am Nedeja Psack, leader of the Akrahd Teh’Rak Clan for the past forty years. Unfortunately, I cannot come a salute you at the present moment, for I am in a distant location and discussing an equally important matter for the Teh’Rak Clan.

I offer to the Azdgari Imperial Raiders that could not leave Sheagi to leave aboard Teh’Rak transporters to Sheago and then be transferred into Azdgari transport for the rest of the trip to the planet. The other option, is to create a parallel government that will be allowed to govern Sheagi under the Teh’Rak eye. The every life of the Azdgari people will not change and they will choose their leaders among themselves. The police forces will be Azdagari, but the military will remain Teh’Rak.

Regrettably for you, Teh’Rak settlers will be sent to lower the risk of a revolt. However, they will remain in distinct quarters until both sides become less hatred.

I will come to Sheagi as soon as possible.

      Nedeja Psack

    • The fleet sent to the Lavrii jumps into a border system, emitting the universal diplomacy beacon.
"This is ASS Swift and Guard Squadron B, we were sent a message about a possible economic opportunity and tech trade... where do we go?"

A small fleet finally arrives at Horosk prime..
"This is Commander Piscopo of the ASS Fox, with Inpatrol 3-S, requesting homeworld landing clearence..."

Angien looks over the latest reports, glad to finally be free of Red's "peaceful criticism". She noticed the message from the Teh-Rak.. she cringed. They have got to be kidding...
      She walks to the Telecom..
      "Kace, get out of there"
"Angien, you know that you're banned from this area because of the time you..."
      "Get Out!"
Although Kace had a sidearm, and even though Angien was unarmed, the Telecom officer knew better than to get Angien mad.. She could often knock males twice her size out cold, from a single hit above the nasal ridge. She watched angien sit down and start typing.... "I don't know why Red puts up with you..."
      "What?" Angien snapped
      "Oh.. nothing."
      "That's what I thought."
Angien began typing again, and Kace began speaking her insults a little less audible..

Message to: Teh Rek at Sheaghi
From: Angien, Second in Command and Co-Commander of Azdgari Raiders
You've got to be kidding. You barge in and conquer a system, only to ask for peace after our defences were more than you bargained for. As bad as the Akrahd have treated us, we will make one deal. We assume you need land. We will grant you a few continents of Sheaghi for colonization and privacy, however the military and police force will all be Azdgari. We will not intrude on your designated continents except to enforce our planetary laws, and even then, to send convicted criminals to you for prosecution.
Deal? If not, you won't have Sheaghi for long.
      End

Angien pressed send before she notices the Horosk message... "Even better.." she thought to herself..
      Message to: Horosk
      From: Angien, SIC of Azdgari
We will welcome any military support, especially in taking back Sheaghi, pending peace talks with the Teh Rek. You're welcome to rest in Sheagho.
      End
