      I'm new to the boards, but I've been a loyal EV fan since Escape Velocity 1.1, and I know how you guys feel, what with the transition anxiety and all. Truth be told, I think Nova is too far away from the first two EVs. I mean, there's no scoutship, for chrissake. Everything is different and weird, and the hefty non-regristration penalties pissed off even honest shareware users. I don't really understand the story, either. I think EVO is still alive in those who fear change.

      Bah, I stopped EVO after a couple of days, not because of the stupid story and lame graphics, but for the fact that Hector stole my money after playing for a few hours. That pissed me off, and I didn't register it for several years. You have to realize that Ambrosia isn't in the business of making people feel good about themselves, they're in the business of making money. The penalties are in there to get people to buy the game, which they have. I'd say that they were pretty successful.

      Okay, it's been awhile since anyone's posted here, and I've noticed everyone's got this fatalistic feel about them, saying this board is dying and whatnot. It may be dropping off a little, but have some hope, people! There are many new members on the board, including myself. Just because Nova boards have more attendance doesn't mean Override is forsaken! Nova is like the new restaurant in town: evryone's gonna try it out, but eventually go back to their favorites.

      The thing that really crushes us, NeonSoldier, is the loss of the oldies who really defined this board. Many have gone, and others can't post very much now. As well as that, you've got to understand that we've all eaten everything on the menu now, and we can't think of anything else to make. Everything on this board has already been done. There have been so many kicked-off-from-EVO webstories that it's getting extremely dull now. The problem I'm facing is where to put anything non-EVO related. 🙂 I'm actually surprised EVula didn't come along and remind me that RoC is now so far off-topic that it should be locked. 😛
