    • the only way the Arada is the best ship is if you just monty python. But, sometimes thats all you can do. But I have to admit, all that weapon space in such a small ship is a nice thing to have.

I feel you have 2 choices, a lumbering hulk or a speedy fighter.

    • Yes, but the Arada can kill any ship in the game with ease if it has a good pilot. Upgrades help a lot, too. It's fast, has enough cargo space for anyone who likes trading (not me, I get mass expansions :)), and has plenty of space for weapons that make it's power equal to a light-medium warship.

Is the answer to this question 'no'?

    • I think there's a middle ground between the lumbering hulk and speedy fighter. Take a crescent warship and slap an engine, rcs, and thrust upgrade on it. That gives you a ship that can outrun pretty much any capital ship while still having enough firepower to toast any fighters that are stupid enough to get near. Not an invincible ship, especially now that everyone has afterburners, and not my ship of choice, but a very solid middle-game ship.

    • Azdgari upgrade will add a nice touch to a CW.

I still stand by my statement of the Arada's superiority.

    • Well any ship can kill any ship in the game as long as it has a good pilot. But a Arada is a sitting duck for long range weapons. Even with its speed it just cant out manuver much. Thats why I say you either need a big ship that can take the punishment or you need a speedy fighter.

    • Here is my evaluation of all major warships in EVO (purchasable ones):

UE Destroyer: Rather good, but weak and only lightly armed for such a vessel.

UE Carrier: Slow, bad turn, only slightly better shielding than a UE Destroyer, it stinks. It's only really good thing is its 5 UE Fighters.

UE Cruiser: Good ship, and tons of room for expansion. However, compared to an Igazra, it isn't as well shielded. My third favorite ship.

Voinian Frigate: Good ship, room for expansion, but its standard weapons stink. Against the UE or Emalgha, it isn't that great. In the Crescent, its much better, but still not the best ship you want to get. In my opinion, not THAT great a ship.

Voinian Cruiser: Excellent ship, excellent armor, and excellent guns. It also is the only purchasable ship in EVO that can carry 6 turrets, unlike the UE Cruiser and Igazra. In the crescent, it is unstoppable. My favorite ship.

Lazira: Relatively good ship, but weak shields and not tons of room for expansion. I've actually never flown one, except for once, but that was only to make a cargo delivery.

Crescent Warship: Good ship for starters, but you really should move on to better things. Although it has lots of room, not extremely powerful, and the UE Cruiser, Voinian Cruiser, and Igazra are much better.

Arada: Good ship for early people, but definitely move on. Although it has good shields, tons and tons of room for expansion, and good armament, you should sitll move on. Thing that people in Aradas usually buy next: Lazira, or go straight to the Crescent Warship.

Igazra: Nice ship, easy to capture, excellent armament, and relatively good room for expansion. Overral, one of the better ships in EVO. Second only to the Voinian Cruiser. My second favorite ship.

But as for the main question; Is the CW better than the rest? My answer is no. Although it is nice, you should really move on to bigger ships.

    • the voinian cruiser is also the only ship you can feasibly put an emalgha upgrade in (and much more worthwhile than their dinky freighter).

    • How come the Voinian cruiser doesn't get much publicity? It's a great ship in the Crescent! It can take on any type of warship there and still have enough armor to take on another 20 or 30, it has plenty of room for expansion, and it can hold the most turrets of any purchasable ship in EVO. Just put Bronov, Dospect, and as many neutron turrets as you can hold and you don't even need secondary weapons!

    • And with it huge cargo space you can easily add more weaponry with those mass expansions. I have more space than I know what to do with, maybe I'll get a Azdgari bay. Right now, it's got 6 neutron turrets, 5 miranu defence dohickies, all the speed upgrades including the Azdgari upgrade, all the armor, and all the other standard stuff and its invincible. Putting the sheild regenerator on it is also quite interesting.

I beg to differ. If you capture one of their enhanced Aradas and upgrade them w/ shield generator, shield capacitors, dospect, etc., they have almost the same recharge rate as an Azdara w/ exp. shield generator. Plus, you get to fit more goodies onto it! 🙂

    • I prefer the Igazra, it is unstoppable for me with the Forklift, hee, hee, hee. Also what do you reccomend for capturing the dreadnought

    • The crescent warship can be VERY good, mes amis!

I like to first strip it down to the bare essentials, leaving lot's o space. Then you go upgrade it with voinian turrets, extra shielding, maneuvarability, and other cool stuff like that, and you'll have a ship with warship class shielding (and armor if you buy it), nearly fighter class speed (I think it can outrun a voinian fighter, although that isn't saying much 🙂 ), and super fire-power, as we all know voinian turrets are the best turrets in the game!

That's what I like to call the S.S. Rasputin

What about the speed? any ol' Lazira does any CW in a pan because it's too slow. In EV:O Universe, speed is everything. (o.k., unless you got a Dreadnought the hard way and really don care about time...) You even fit in a bronev (yessss) layer of armour onto a Lazira. So, how to beat that? In one-to-one-combat I can monty-python the best dreadnought because it's slower. (remember the effect of your weapons!)

    • Yes but with all the speed upgrades on a Dreadnought you can even monty python any capital ship. Or at least keep out of range long enough for your seven turrets to waste it. You can monty python with any upgraded ship. Thats why you should try to avoid doing it. Its way to easy. Took me a while to break the habit.
