The "Rescue Vonian Defector (#2)" mission is the one I'm stuck on! I spent an hour killing the Vonian fleet, so it wouldn't be in the way, and then one stupid Renegade Krait blows up the shuttle! Is it possible to beat this mission? If it's possible, how do you do it? If it's not possible, well, I expect this answer anyway. I've got a UE Fighter and two Scoutship escorts and two Transporter escorts. I have killed the fleet like this, but couldn't board or jettison the shuttle! What am I doing wrong?

Don't bother with the Voinians. Just go straight for the shuttle, board it, take the defector, then run for Paraan.

When you try to board it, the general appears in your cargo

Keep in mind that the Voinians will be far more interested in attacking you than in the shuttle. In my experience the only times the Voinians have actually destroyed the shuttle were when they fired rockets at me and just happened to hit it.

With a UE Fighter, you ought to be fast enought to board the shuttle and leave with no problems. But if you have trouble, just lead the Voinians a little away from the shuttle and them swing back past them to pick up the defector. Another way to know that you've boarded it correctly is that you will instantly be at a complete stop if you had been drifting slightly before boarding.

I tried again and again and I still couldn't do it. Finally, I got the defector and then... THE STUPID COMPUTER CRASHED! :mad: So, what I am trying to do is make a plug that changes the mission to a win:win situation. I am using Mission Computer, and I copied the mission's file, and then changed the mission bits to the winning bit on both sides (win and lose). I put the plug in the folder, but I still fail the mission? What is going on?

In the event that you are wondering why I didn't post this on the developers board, I didn't want to start another new topic.

1. Start a new Pilot
2. Trade/Plunder/do Frontier Express/Steller Corp missions untill you have 9,000,000 Credits.
3. Head to Miranu space and buy a Crecent Warship.
4. Blow up a lot of Traders/Pirates/Anyone who pi**e* you off until your Combat Rating is at least "Average."
5. Go to Pax, enter the bar, and start the Voinian Missions, because they have better ships, better Weapons, and get to blow up more stuff.
6. Finish the Voinian Missions, and download Reign of the Voinians: Magma as well as the MAGMA and MAGMA Subwoofer plugins.
7. Have a ****load of fun.

Not when I went through that mission. The frigates targeted the shuttle and destroyed it everytime I jumped into the system. Eventually I figured out that I had to distract them with a few missles so I could lead them away before boarding the ship.

I had a hard time with this mission too. The dang Voinians kept blowing me up before I could get to the ship. If you have the cloaking divice from UE then use that as soon as you get into the system with all the ships, get yourself all lined up so you can board the ship, uncloak, board the ship and jump away. I know this may sound like a cheap trick, but it worked for me. If you don't have the cloaking divice then I just recomend pure speed.
