Saraine watched over the Angels Lairs security cameras as the Pirate ambassador came aboard.
The mans a smelly, unprincipled barbarian fanatic from a whole sewer full of barbarian fanatics. he grumbled. Why, oh why , did the Azdgari send him to us? We may have helped the Azdgari in the past, and the rewards are truly awesome, but that does not give them the right to send the scum of the galaxy onto my Lair any time they choose!
Turning to his new XO, he snapped, Grab a free ship -one of the ore haulers here from our refineries in Azdgari should do- shove the Pirate filth onto it, and send him off to wherever the Azdgari call their headquarters now.
But, sir-
Do it! Saraine yelled, thinking, someday I will have to get myself a competent XO.
Yessir!
While youre at it, get a connection to Rasael and Raven. I have an idea.
Yessir!
While Rasael was quick to come online, a connection to Raven ended in her secretary repeating the phrase Raven is currently unavailiable at present.
Seizing the comm, he yelled, Well, find her! Tell her if she doesnt turn up I will personally take away her cherished Archangel!
Yessir.
I am really getting sick of that phrase, Saraine thought.
Raven appeared onscreen, eyes red with tears.
You know something about that House of Jama merc, dont you? Rasael asked curiously.
She shook her head. Its nothing, just old memories.
Saraine cut in; Sometimes old memories are potent motivators. Tell me.
Raven shook her head again. No. My nightmares are my own.
Saraine shook his own head in frustration. Well, so long as it doesnt impact on your command
It wont, I promise.
Good. Now, what I called you to ask is, the Dark Angels need an ally. I know the blasted Miranu, they cant be trusted-
I know. Raven muttered, almost below earshot.
The Azdgari are getting entirely too comfortable with us. They sent a pirate fanatic to my Lair, for goodness sake! That rules them out. But at the same time, we dont want to upset them which rules out the Coalition.
That leaves the Zidagar. Rasael concluded.
Pre-cisely! Saraine answered. Im hoping we can get their hyperspace inhibitors, myself.
Now thats a grand idea! Rasaels eyes twinkled.
We are agreed, then? We send a message to the Zidagar?
Yes. Rasael answered.
Yes. echoed Raven.
Then let it be done. Ill get down to writing it right away.
Write well, friend. Rasael out.
Raven out.
Saraine called up his message systems, and began to dictate.
( message begins )
(message to: Zidagar)
(message fr: Dark Angels)
(message re: alliance)
(Zidagar, we come to you in the name of peace between our peoples. Relationships between our factions have been tense ever since the Battle of The Rock, but now is the time to put that behind us. A new Wave of Destruction is dawning, and we must ride the crest.
So I ask, Zidagar friends; do you require the military aid of the Dark Angels? For adequate payment, of course, we will be happy to help.
Yours,
Saraine of the Seraphim
Rasael of the Seraphim
Raven of the Seraphim)
