    • Gauron (sp?) mission

I've just tried to do the mission to drop marines of Guaron(sp?) station. I took out all of the Voinians, as instructed and landed, but nothing happened. No disembarking and I presume no uprising. When I took of I was surrounded by frigates - and the Marines had gone. AND the mission is still listed as active. Of course the game had saved with all my escorts destroyed and my ammo gone.

I presume if I were to go back, rearm and try again the there would be a nice Voinian reception committee - but I would have no marines to land.

Am I gonna have to abort (and presumably lose my Pillar of Society status 'cos they think I'm chicken) or is there a way ro recover the situation.

Thanks for any advice (and I was feeling so smug having totalled the dreadnaught)

      Oh, I'm using version 1.0.1

    • Ahh yes, the Capture Gualon Station mission is notorious for confusing many players - the problem is that you haven't destroyed all of the Voinian ships -related to the mission-. As it's a Voinian system, you can expect that there will always be Voinian ships in it when you arrive / take off - but only some of them will be part of your mission - and unfortunately you can't really tell which until you have them disabled and find you can't board them.

The first time you land at the station during that mission, the marines go about their business and disappear from your cargo - but nothing will be said if you haven't destroyed all the ships - presumably one or two hyperspaced out of the system subtlely while you were killing their fellows. Just keep on killing them is all I can really say - land and take off a few times to get an idea of how many important ones are really there :).

    • Oh Well. I had a deep dark sense of foreboding even as a posted my query. So will the 'relevant' ships I've totalled (about seven frigates) stay destroyed?

On second thoughts, I think I know the answer to that...

    • The answer of course is yes... 🙂

"How can I make it go faster?" -Me-

    • OK, I am now officially frustrated. I must have tried to complete the mission a dozen times or more. I can toast everything in the system, 4 frigates? No sweat. Two cruiser? Piece of cake. But can't find any unboardable ships. It's,um, getting a bit dull. Been in and out. Landed a good few times, wasted a million or so credits on ammo. The marines have just disappearred.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please. Pretty please.

    • I hear ya - fighting Voinian ships is taxing on the patience at the best of times :). I think you might have to abort and go back to pick the marines up all over again - if that is an option... I'm not sure :frown:.

    • It rather looks like it. Can't remember where I got the marines. Gamma?

I just did the liberate Huron string and had a similar problem with the renegade battle (I suspect that merely disabling enemies is not enough). Aborted and got it at the 2nd attempt.

Shame about Admiral Tzu, tho' 😄

    • Oh, how rude of me.

      Thanks for your help.

    • Whoa... Never disable any enemies unless you´re told so. You fail so many missions in that way.
I remember the first time I took on the Dreadhought......and left there disabled
