In the frozen heart documents, it mentioned that there were 7 "ultimate tests" of your piloting skills. Now that I've beaten the game completely, (great game!) what were these 7 piloting tests?

The third van Roth mission (with the raiding of pirate stronghouses, etc.)
Destroying the black hole with the bomb

Disabling and capturing the black hole (I've done it)
Destroying the Rigellian Hunter Killer
Boarding that bloody plague infected speedster
Dominating New Venus

Interesting.
The IMP missiles are keyed at that point to make the mission harder -- most players find that they blow themselves up using IMP missiles the first few times. This is especially the case when fighting a ship that twists around quickly, as the temptation is to get in close and let loose.
IMP missiles weren't part of the original Frozen Heart story (the Hawk section is told as a flashback, but without missiles). I came up with them after experimenting with space bombs for a long time in original EV. I was thinking 'what would make space bombs even harder to use, but also more powerful'. I eventually came up with the IMP missiles, paired against the fast moving stratofighter, and the IMP bomb, paired with the destructiveness of the black hole.
I may revisit in a later version.
