I know that you ALL may have heard of me, how I always pester you people about this same problem... but I still cannot perfect it! I took your advice, and after grueling days of fighting and killing, I brought my combat rating to dangerous. I went to station phybin, but there was STILL no nebula exploration mission... what am I doing wrong!?! Please help me... I'm becoming desperate! Thanks...

I haven't heard of you yet, and I'm not sure exactly what you've been told before, so if I cover the same old stuff forgive me. First off, I believe you need to be a member of the Miranu Trading Corp. to get the nebula missions. I'd guess you've tried visiting Pybin Station multiple times, but if you haven't, give that a shot, making sure to visit a different system/planet in between visits - important missions won't show up every time. And I'm not sure if it is a factor or not, but you may have to explore the whole galaxy if you haven't done so (pure conjecture on my part this).

Dangerous isn't as good as Deadly. I only got the nebula missions after I blasted a billion Voinans and even dominated one of their systems in the push back Voinans string.

First piece of advice I will give you is. Don't stress over the game. Relax and enjoy it. You'll get good and then the missions will come. I've played both games for years. I got the original with my computer for heavens sake(1996). It's an amazing and addictive game to play.
Now about your little problem. First make sure your a good boy with the Miranu. Then I'm pretty sure there is a mission where the Trade Corp. asks you to ship some purple eel things to some Igadzra colony. You'll recieve something in return. Now, after this I'm pretty sure the Nebula Exploration string will begin. Hope that helps.

I have the power to destroy some voinian ships... but don't the miranu get mad at you for killing them... or anyone? The last time I killed some voinian ships, the miranu all gave me criminal records! Right now, I started a new game... in one of the miranu systems, I'm a pillar of society... but I don't want to ruin it. Is there some way to kill the voinians without losing my legal standing with the miranu? Thanks... and I'll try to relax!

Try killing Voinians on the UE-Voinian Front, away from Miranu space. That way, the only legal status changes that you should experience will be the UE and the Voinians. And besides, your legal status in Miranu systems is a Pillar of Society, I doubt killing a few Voinians will bring you down much, if at all.

Ummm, if you're worried about legal status, just about everyone enjoys it when you kill renegades. And since they're almost always mad at you anyway, renegades are a pretty safe bet.
As for the eels, I'm pretty sure that has nothin to do with the Miranu, except that it starts on Kirrim. That mission is the beginning of the Igadzra string.

Well, obviously the Miranu DO indeed care if you kill the voinians because when I destroyed one of the voinian ships, my legal standing with the Miranu dropped to criminal. Also, my combat rating is only deadly, so I'll try to bring it up to Ultimate. Third, my legal status is currently (w/the miranu) pillar of society in Tmidor. It eventually spred, so I'm pretty much a upstanding citizen throughout miranu space. Finally, i've heard that the mission was only available @ priat. BUT, i've considered your advice and have decided to try it. I'll get back to you when I get some results... thanks for your help.

Hey everyone! I got the nebula exploration mission! I'm currently at the proxima nebula and I have to eliminate the renegade threat in the Mavs system. Can anyone give me tips or strategies to kill them? I tried it once before and I died... there was quiet a few of them! Anyway, thanks for everything!

You'll need a decent ship. I did it with a freighter courier with 2 phase turrets, a neutron turret, and dispersal rockets. (it also had dospect and bronev armor which helped quite a bit because I played for the Voinans in that game) Get the engine (top speed) upgrade somewhere, i think you can get it in mirava. Then just use monty python on the warships and fighters.

Use Dispersal rockets, they are made for killin' fighter-type craft. Get something guided for the warships, and leave them for last.
