    • Zachit mission problem

      Ok, here's the situation:

On a mission for the Zachit, have to go trash a renegade fleet at The Rock. However on jumping into the system, I am confronted with 7 to 10 cresent warships who imediatly lock onto me and release their fighters. This means I have 21 to 30 fighters trying to kill me!! I have tried every weapon combination I can think of, nothing works. Not even having an azdara bay helps. How do I complete this mission?

      I currently have:
(mine) Cresent Warship: Cresent fighter bay, Azdigari, engine, RCS, and thrust upgrades, 2 phase turrets, 2 nutron turrets

      Renegade Lazira (captured) as escort

    • ask them nicely

    • Two Words:
      Monty Python.

If you are unfamiliar with this technique, it involves flying away from the enemy at a speed equal to them while keeping them just within firing range. As long as they don't get too close, they won't fire. While your turrets/cannons eat away at their shield and ultimately, destroy them. The problem with this technique in your situation is the fact that they're fighters, and you're a warship.
If you haven't done so already, head over to the Azdargari home system and buy all the engine, acceleration, and turning upgrade. They'll help you here, and just about everywhere else in the game.
Even though the fighters will most likely be faster than you, even with the upgrade, give the Monty Python I try, it could work.

Oh, and btw, they way I deal with Crescent Fighters is a combination of phase turrets and afterburner. Lock onto one, and fire on it until it's dead and lock onto the next. Afterburner away from the swarm when your shields/armor drop too low.
Try to get more fighting escorts, too. The strand Aradas and renegade Aradas made pretty good escorts.

      Good Luck.

    • I am agreeing with Wedge here. This mission actually clued me in to how wonderful afterburners are on capital ships. After a half dozen tries, I bought an afterburner for my large orange censored, otherwise called an Igazra. As soon as I jumped in system at The Rock, I turned around and fired the afterburner. Once I was good to Monty Python them, I just hit the "closest target" key continuously while my phase turrets rip them apart as two by two, they caught up to me. After that, with Dospect and Bronev plating, the Warships were no trouble.

And even though you were before my time, Wedge, welcome back! It's always nice to have more Star Wars fanatics on the boards! 😄

    • That is about the hardest confrontation you face in the stock EVO missions - and especially with the computer-ships-have-afterburners feature of v1.0.2, the Crescent Fighters cause serious problems. IMO your best bet is to still have the UE cloaking device on board, but as that is highly unlikely, what has been suggested is the way to go. You could try doing the North Tip Renegade mission string as well - that way you won't be attacked by the renegades at the rock, and, if I remember correctly, can just wait until they leave. Just in case, that string begins in the bar on Hizdriar, and you need to be an offender or worse there - but don't finish the string before you finish the Zachit one, as the Renegade string ends with destroying Outpost Zachit :).

    • the forklift might help but you may be like me and hate the da*n thing.
