I'm attacking Borb Station in the Vionia system. How long should it take to dominate the station?

Not as long as with Voina, but still insanely long. I'd arrange for someone to get you cups of tea during the interval. About 5 minutes with near instant kill cheats (so what, I was bored) and a LONG time without...

Taking anything within the Voinia system is a total waste of time. I managed to capture every spob in the Sol system in Escape Velocity years back, but it took pretty much forever.
Leave it be, that's the best way...------------------

If you're talking about Escape Velocity, try Rebel systems. They tend to be easier to take.
But in both EV and EV:O, capturing stellars is a big no no, for the most part. Lots of hard work, and bounty hunters constantly pestering you. Need I add that to take Voina, you need to have your best ship outfitted in your favourite way already, so there's no need for the money?

Yeah, but it is kinda cool for the Voinian empire's core homeworld to be paying you tribute...
The quickest way I found to dominate systems was to get a UE cruiser, get a Krait bay and get something like 30 krait escort fighters...
To do this you have to disable turncoats before they unload all of their fighter bay and steal their krait ammo...
Then just send out all your escorts (this takes a while...) and dominate away!

Ack, dominating ain't easy..
I usually just get some really big, but fast, escorts (UE destroyers) and then retreat to the far end of the system, letting my escorts do the work for me..
