Haar stared across the facility, his eyes cold. He looked straight into the Rarkyls eyes, which were dark, and dangerous. He stared down upon what was one of the most dangerous alien races in existance, and grinned, showing his teeth. His grin faded as the Rarkyl continued its deathly stare.
So... it grated, moving its mouth only slightly, ...you finally came.
Haar was silent. He looked the Rarkyl up and down - a greyish being, with no body part designed for anything except combat. The Rarkyls claws tightened and relaxed as the Rarkyl mentally prepared for combat. Haar was perhaps the only being who could stare at that Rarkyl, and be devoid of fear. It was not so much bravery as ignorance, and disability. Haar was a madman, and he both thought and fought like one.
I knew youd come, the Rarkyl continued, its powers probing through Haars mind, revealing secrets long hidden. You are an...interesting...being - the Rarkyl growled softly, his sentence intersected by Haars cold voice.
Talk is cheap, Rarkyl. Make your move, Haar cut in, raising his fists and making a cross gesture. Almost before the words were out of his mouth, the Rarkyl leapt forward, making a buzzing sound, so fast it moved. Haar physically flew backwards, pushing his feet as hard as he could. One claw, belonging to the Rarkyl, smashed through the air, cutting down through the ground as the Rarkyl almost overbalanced. In what to a human would be an impossible manouevre, the Rarkyl kept its balance by swinging its other arm round, and its tail, creating a wind strong enough to keep it balanced. So quickly, it moved, that it already leapt at Haar before he recovered from his frightened movement.
Haar rammed straight into the Rarkyl, taking a severe gash across the left shoulder. His huge hands took the Rarkyl by the neck as he kneed it in the stomach, one of the only places it didnt have spikes, thankfully. The Rarkyl mouth let out a large amount of air, which made an audible sound.
Die beast! Haar cried out, putting all his weight forward and sending them both, locked together, to the wall of the establishment. The Rarkyl crashed against the wall, making a large dent as its spikes scratched the wall. The Rarkyl collapsed down to the floor, even as Haar prepared for another attack.
The Rarkyl, however, was too quick, and too fast. It was on its feet in a second, its claws digging deep into Haars chest. Blood spurted from the Igadzras chest even as the Rarkyl turned its head to gaze at Haar, its red eyes burning.
You are a fool, Igadzra, the Rarkyl stated simply. It effortless pulled its claws out of Haar, who promptly fell to the ground. The Rarkyl brought up its left claw and prepared to slash down across the back of Haars neck.
In dreadful pain, Haar was half paralysed. Somehow, however, he found the strength to wrap his arms around the Rarkyls legs, and he pulled with all his might. The Rarkyl fell to the floor, but its tail cut Haar across the face. From the ground, Haar stared over to where the Rarkyl was, standing up in what seemed like a slow grace. Haar looked down at himself, at the blood pouring out of his chest, and at the blood on his eyes, disturbing his vision. Im over...
Yes, Igadzra. Youre over, the Rarkyl, bringer of death, stated, looming over Haar.
Igg defend me from evil...I repent my sins...Help me! Save me!
Haar cried out like a child, which turned to screams of pain, as the Rarkyl finished him. His last coherent words were a begging for his mother, and for forgiveness of his sins. For his mother, and his father both, had been the first victims to his madness. But before the Rarkyl could eat him, Federation officers moved in, stunning the deadly creature. However, Haar was quite dead - his head severed, his blood out across the floor in an expanding pool of blood.
From outside the large room, Commander Laiors watched, and sighed. The other Igadzra that had come to watch had gone away long before, but Laiors had stayed, silently. He whispered a quiet prayer to Igg, begging Him to forgive Haar. He wasnt a religious Igadzra, but it was the least he could do.
Sighing again, Laiors turned away, to Carnotaur, who stood a few metres away.
He was born an Igadzra, and he dies an Igadzra, Laiors muttered quietly to Carnotaur. But no-one should die that way. What will you do with this beast?
