    • Is Crescent warship worth 9m?
      No.
Should I get a Lazira before I buy a crescent warship?
      No.
Should I buy a Crescent warship (I want one :)!)
      No.
Was it worth it to buy an Arada?
      Yah.
Is a Rapier better then a lightning?
      This is the EVO board.
Am I asking to many stupid questions?...
      Yah.

My usual sequence is: Shuttle, Scoutship, Clipper, Corvette, Kestrel, Cruiser (Rebel or Confed). This is good for a trader who doesn't mind some fighting. However, depending on how you play, this might not be the best setup for you.**

Kestrels suck, don't even bother getting one.
      go:
      Shuttle
      Scoutship
      Argosy/Clipper (preferably Argosy)
      Corvette

The corvette is the best ship in the game. Don't bother with those slow, ****ty, expensive kestrels and cruisers. Cruisers make good escorts, but they're horrible as personal ships.

I am more of a trader type. I like the extra cargo space. If I wanted to do more fighting, I would stick with scoutship.

Umm, Scoutships havve 5 tons more cargo space than clippers!
Clippers are slightly faster & have more shields & weapon space...
      duh!

What ship should I get to destroy the Voinian Dreadnought? I've tried several times with my UE destroyer with one turret changed in for a Voinian turret and a layer of Voinian armor and I die each time. Any hints?

Get an Azdara and upgrade it:
      5 Emalgha cannons
      4 shield capacitors
      1 shield generator
all preformance upgrades (If you have the $$$)
      ECM system

fly around it in circles until it wastes all of the turreted rockets, then use the monty python maneuver. Since your shields recharge faster than its armor, you can just withdraw for a second or two if your shields ever get low.

    • I like Battleship Yamato type. 😉

    • You can get it from Touki on Diopside system.
I have one. Its 46cm3 Ts are very dangerous!
It has a lot of crew.
      46cm
3 Ts can destroy a Crescent fighter at one shot. (url="http://"http://www.linkclub.or.jp/~daisuken/lib/EVO_Plug-in_Augite_250.sit.hqx")http://www.linkclub....ite_250.sit.hqx(/url)

Hey, ask Ankh Starruner about killing Dreadnoughts. (To Ankh: 😉 😉 ;))
Think ya' could kill a Dreadnought with a krait? :D**

Heh, the ONLY way to kill the vonian dreadnaught without cheating is to use the monty pytomn maneuver. It takes a lot of piloting skill and time, not firepower. The BEST ship you can get for that is the Azdara, outfitted with 5 phase cannons. (Do NOT use blaze cannons or Emalgha cannons because their range is too short.)

**Note to the beginner: It is not necessary to buy every ship in the game. You might as well skip the scoutship and argosy - argosies suck, no buts about it, and a scoutship doesn't solve enough of your problems in the beginning so you might as well set your sights a little higher. Therefore, a courier, for the simple reason that, as I have already mentioned, it gives you something you can use to get yourself someplace.

      ARGOSIES DON'T SUCK!

I can easily take out a confed cruiser in a well-outfitted Argosy. And they have plenty of cargo space for plundering pirate ships! Argosies are the second best ship for being a pirate (after Corvette)
      F--- kestrels, they suck

    • Hey y'all! 🙂

Until I can pay for the game, I'll just keep on using my good ol' Frog (I call it Kermit).
Why? Because until I can pay up, I need a ship that can withstand Hector's attacks (he acts more like a pirate/renegade than just someone that turns up from time to time). In EV, I liked the Kestrel, particularly the Condor version (it's as big as a rebel cruiser!). I don't like having to cheat, but I used to use the Forklift, and now I use the Mass Flare. The Mass Flare can take out the Voinian Dreadnought in one shot!
I use the Mass Flare for the "bigger" ships. I reserve my primaries for the small fry
      (Voinian Fighters/Heavy Fighters/Interceptors/Supply Ships; renegade: Kraits (Crates?)/Crescent Fighters/Aradas)
The Frog may be considered an "invinci-naught" by some (and it just might be), but I use it just the same. It's small enough to not be seen as a threat, while also being seen as "fresh meat." Guess again! This Frog bites back! 😄

    • Yeah, but sometimes it's more fun to dredge up old posts. Newer ones tend to be more questions about the game.

P.S. I have never MP'ed the Dreadnaught, I just grab a Cruiser, go swipe some Turncoats (Hey, 6 of them is a force to be reckoned with!) and merrily blast away.

Pity I hate the UEC. Crescent warships are more than a match for anything, save Voinian fleets (the emalgha REALLY need a new cannon) when I use my pretty blaze cannons.

P.P.S. Does anyone have a plugin to change that lame phase graphic?

      Battler of the unjust Forklift.
And still blowing them all up, 'cause the Aggies still haven't given him the new shield generator.

    • Quite honestly, every ship has it's good qualities, except for the Voinian fighters and the krait. They just suck any way you look at them. Personally, I fly a UE destroyer, because it's more maneuverable than a CW and just works well for me.

I disagree with you. The Voinian fighters are deadly killers against capital ships. Imagine 20 VHFs coming straight at a UE Carrier...

Now, Kraits are pretty sucky on their own, but if you take a swarm of thirty of them, and sick them on any ship, they can inflict massive damage. By comparison, thirty Kraits have ninety blaze cannons. The UE Cruiser has five.
