thats just crazy. Armor scaning is much harder thanshields cause shields have energy tomeasure through the vaccuum of space. Armor is just a large mass.
And also, you said a UEC loses to voinians?!?!?!!? the ue criser is the best wertern ship!
And carriers beat cruisers. It's true. cruisers have 4 worthless fighters, like turncoat's 3 kraits, that are disabled in 1 shot and deal out no damage. carrier has 5 UE fighters which alone give the cruiser a beating. While the fighters are working on it, hunters from the carrier help, and eventually the carrier catches up and finishes it off.

The Carrier is questionable I agree, but whoever it is that really thinks an AI UE Cruiser can't beat an AI Voinian Cruiser needs to have their head examined. The AI UEC RULES.

BTW, regarding the interceptor and heavy fighter, I still believe the interceptor is better. Even if you believe that the only advantage the interceptor has is speed, I think that's more than enough to make it superior. Speed is extremely important; raw firepower doesn't do much good if you're as slow as a space rock. The interceptor is the only Voinian ship that isn't as slow as mud.....

I think you have to think of carried fighters as a kind of secondary weapon. (That's how you launch them, sure, but...) If I had a Voinian Interceptor bay, or a VHF bay, what I'd basically have is a big secondary weapon that I could chose to fire off before closing to gun range in the hope of weakening my opponent.

Think of the Voinian fighter as a fat rocket... it has certain advantages:

• It can cross an asteroid field without detonating.

• It can swing around an engage targets behind you, yet you don't need a turret to launch it.

• If it survives the first pass, it can launch a second attack - bonus!

• It's a valid target. When folks are shooting at it , they're not shooting at you.

• You can bring a disabled one back on board, and launch again right away.

• If you're a disloyal Voinian supporter, you can plunder your allies for spare 'ammo'.

• You can call a fighter back if you launch by mistake, or change your mind.

• You can have them fly in close formation around you, to soak up incoming fire.

• They have infinite range (duration) - normal secondaries have a defined flight time.

I would only seriously consider making use of Voinian parasite fighters if I wasn't paying for the replacements, though! Playing as a UE supporter for instance (yawn), and flying in a captured Voinian cruiser.

the yawn there referred to the boredom of flying a VC, you have time to sleep while trying to get in range of a freighter!
and i would never fly a VC, waste of money, i WOULD have them as escorts to absorb some fire though, cause theyre disposable. and free ammo.

and anyway, i'd rather have a rocket than a VHF. the vhf would die before firing anything. waste of money.

I agree. Although the Voinians may be known far and wide for their slow and powerful ships, the interceptor is quite different from typical Voinian technology. In the hands of a human player, you can easilly dodge the rockets and hammer enemy fighters with the long-range neutrons...

If it makes any difference, Matt Burch has added the display armor percentage feature to Nova. This indicates (to me, at least) that he, and, by extension, Peter Cartwright, did want armor percentage to be displayed, and that it isn't a cheat. Of course, I don't play Override much at all these days, so it matters naught to me ...

Kraits the worst fighter in the game?! not in swarms theyre not. the kind of swarms worked up by a cluster of turncoats will swarm all over a ship not fast enough that they can take em on 1 at a time (a lazira without an engine upgrade for example, would get slaughtered)
IF The krait bay could launch em all at once, and could store a few more fighters, it would be a force to be feared.

I must agree with your view to some extent. During the final assault on Pariah (when the United Earth help you out), those eleven Turncoats and their amazing number of kraits can be quite a pain. To tell you the truth, the final Pariah mission is one of the harder ones in the game, because of the sheer numbers and deadly combined firepower.

But otherwise, the krait is still junk.

Actually, that feature was added in EV Override 1.0.2, but the Voinian ships still don't display their percentages. Especially given the quote in the documentation about how it's hard to tell the status of a Voinian ship, I think that it isn't intended to be used ingame, but was put in for future scenario and plugin developers.

Of course, thirty kraits chasing your warship down could easilly destroy you with such immense amounts of blaze fire. But your chances are that the rockets and neutron cannons of the Voinian Interceptors would wear you down much more quickly.
