    • Another quick question:
On the human renagade missions, I've just taken on the alien renagade station (Mavs?) and returned to freeport. In the bar I get the next mission: to destroy attacking alien renagades. Now the thing is, the human renagades are attacking me a well... Any idea why?

      They are? Where?

    • Hey guys, I just started playing EVO again(it's been at least a year) and I completely forgot how to join the Adzgari.
Can anyone help me out? Thanx. -Deadlock

    • To join the Azdgari, you need to go to the South Tip Station in the Akrayek (Sp.) system. If you have built up you combat rating and are friendly with the Azdgari, an Azdgari guy should come up and ask you to get some cargo. You will need a ship that can jump in one day for this mission.

As for the Human Renegade problem, that happened to me to. I just did the mission trying not to kill any of my own guys and than kept on going. I guess that they didn't want anyone to know that I was working for them...that's a pretty dumb guess.

I'll put it down to "bug" then. Trouble is, my Freight-courior hasn't got much of an Iron ass, and is getting whipped.

      Ho hum.

    • Try getting an Arada, those are fast and so you could easily outmanouver the needle missles and kraits are just a pain. The crescent fighters might be a problem though. You might want to do the voinian string (since you aren't great friends with the UE anyway) and get yourself a Voinian frigate, or, If you've got the money a Voinian Cruiser. Crescent ships do basically nothing to my Cruiser.

    • why wont it let me register in the web board? or why are they not accepting any registering right now?

    • Thanks much for prior help from this gang with the nebulas! Now, unfortunately, I have a different problem...

Why don't the Emalghans want me? I've been trying to get the Hinwar missions, which, as I understand it, require me to help out the Emalghans first. But, much as I hang out in the Emalghan bar, they never invite my assistance. I'm late in the game for most of the other strings, I've got an Ultimate combat rating and I'm hated by the Voinians, but that doesn't seem to be good enough for those picky Emalghans. What am I doing wrong (or not doing)? When I've played in the past I haven't have problems with them asking for help -- what am I missing this time?

    • Well, have you defended the system a few times against the Voinians? You need to do that several times to get the mission string.

...and that's my problem -- I can't seem to get the Voinians to attack when I'm on Emalgha. Are they trembling at my combat prowess? Or do I need to do something else (or not have done something) in order for the mission string to start?

    • Try hanging around in the Emalgha bars. You can get Emalgha stellar defence missions there. After you've completed a few, your legal record should be good enough that the 'forbidden' moon allows you to land, and in the bar there you can get a mission to establish diplomatic links between the Emlagha and Earth.

It runs on a performa (A pretty heavily upgraded one at least), but I have to put it on maximum speed, and keep caps-lock on.

Currently Evil Zin is also stuck on the Raid Outpost Alpha mission. That's kinda why I started the renagade thread. Oh, and Aradas annoy me.

    • Thanks for all the help from folks with getting the Hinwar missions rolling. I'm currently in the midst of them.

I do have a question about "postponing" missions -- is there any penalty to accepting a mission without an explicit time limit and then putting it off? Almost all missions have an implicit time limit (e.g., presumably support fleets for attacks on particular systems wouldn't wait around forever for you to get to that system), but unless there's a specific time limit attached, this doesn't seem to matter. Is that true?

I kinda feel guilty that there's some UE task force out there impatiently waiting for me to finally show up and take on the Voinian Dreadnaught...

Also, what is the best strategy in terms of gear or tactics to take on those nasty Voinians? I'm not too proud to Monty Python the suckers, but I often find I end up with a big clump of five or six Voinian cruisers all together, rather that nicely isolated for Pythoning. I'm currently kitted out in a Lazira with blaze turrets and pursuit missiles -- is there better gear to kill those suckers with? And what sort of escorts would be helpful?

      Thanks much.

If there's no explicit time limit coded into the mďsn resource, there's no penalty no matter how long you take.

    • Neutron weaponry works ok given its good range, if you don't feel like getting all
cozy with them. A rocket launcher and at least 14 tons empty space is a MUST have...
you can easily reload by capturing the ammo on voinian fighters and interceptors. You can
kill the dreadnought this way, if you wish, by going through the stores of all its
      escorts.

    • I am playing the shades of evil plugin, and am having problems. I got the mission to "make a fake attack on the knox system and then go to ariane to join in the real attack, then return to new Voina" My problem is that when I went to knox, there were only the usual ships, which I killed, but no huge defence fleet or anything. Thinking that a little odd I continued on to Ariane. There, there was a huge fleet that I completely destroyed. I then returned to Earth. Nothing. I looked at the map, and the red arrow was still on knox, I returned there, and still nothing. I aborted the mission and tried again, exact same problem. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's just a bug.
