      RULES:
      1. No single post battles or major events.
      2. No controlling of other people's characters.
      3. Moderators retain the right to deny any post, without explanation (although an explanation will probably be given).
      4. No supercruisers are allowed. The Garland, Ragnarok and Savior are all BASE ships, and otherwise the limit is dreadnought. A supercruiser is generally any ship that can enter a battle against an entire fleet and win, or any ship where you'll actually actively talk about it - i.e. the Excalibur does this, the Excalibur does that, whereas Dreadnoughts or cruisers are just referred to as "the ships moved forward and attack".
      5. BASE ships cannot engage in battle, but have no size limits. It must be understrand these are like flying stations or planets - near impossible to defeat.
      6. Technology must be stated when it begins, and any moderation on technology must be accepted. Moderators retain the right to moderate a technology as late as when it is first used, if they did not understand the capabilities. You are encouraged to add how far into development a technology you are researching is.
      7. Please try and be fair in all your posts to avoid moderation and stalling of the game.
      8. Specifics are not required. Economy reports do not exist, but you are asked to keep track of when you'll be low on money.
      9. No time based technologies or otherwise invincible technologies. Also, the realms of sub-space are to be avoided (any technology that allows you to leave and re-enter the universe)
      10. No killing anyone else's character.

      HISTORY:
      The Plot

_It all started out in a typical EVO world. Every race was the same, each side with their same emnities. But much happened, as the reign of chaos began.....

The UE, Miranu and Zidagar formed a great alliance of worlds, becoming strong. To show their strength to the galaxy they placed mighty space stations in the UE-Miranu gap. The Imperium Alliance was formed out of scientists, and it was defended by technology and the mighty space stations they lived on. However, the Imperium Alliance ignored their creators and went their own way, sworn enemies of the Miranu and UE, seeking power.

Then, from beyond the galaxy we know of came the Odine, an insightful, incredibly advanced people. They came through a warphole the Miranu had made. The Odine were not invaders, nor were they an entire race. They were the remnants of a race, a race desperate to escape the horrors of a galaxy beyond where thousands of races are in constant war. The Odine had less than a hundred ships, but they were so far advanced that the danger they posed was great.

The Azdgari met them and allied with them, and at the same time the Voinians met and allied the Imperium Alliance. Voinians, Igadzra and UE become tentative allies against the Azdgari-Odine co-operation, but then the UE betrayed the Voinians and Igadzra, sending word to the Azdgari to fight with them.

Sides were drawn, and tensions grew. The time for the battlefield was now.

In fact, so little happened at first glance. Each race researched technologies to make themselves strong, and the UE poured into the Voinian worlds with their supercruisers. The U.E.S Paladin, the U.E.S Excalibur and the new, deadly sphere shaped supercruiser - the U.E.S Sephiroth.

All went wrong, however, and the UE were turned back. They were crushed, and their supercruisers destroyed. However, the U.E.S Sephiroth, badly damaged, was merged with the U.E.S Garland, it's brother ship still in creation. The U.E.S Garland was ready, as was the colony ship the Lost Hope.

UE space was set to destruct, freighters, stations, all now traps. The UE leader, Paladin, was prepared to lay down his life at Paaren Station, but the mercenary Carnotaur saved him. Carnotaur went to Zidagar land, that was near collapse also, and saved Rima.

Paladin and Rima went in the Garland and their other ships beyond to the new galaxy, and Carnotaur stayed behind to form the Mercenary Alliance that would keep everyone else down while the UE and Zidagar recovered.

Paladin and Rima's goal was to go to the new galaxy and steal technology, then come back much stronger. However, they do not know what they must face.........

Meanwhile, the other races were forced together by power to make the Galactica Empire, who control all of the galaxy._

From there, several key points happened in the ten years between.
() The UE and Zidagar became a lot stronger in the other galaxy, and the Zidagar built (improved) the Savior. Both races made a small force of advanced ships.
      (
) The Council was crushed, and Crescent Station destroyed.
() The I'ase, from beyond the Crescent, are in existance and know of the Azdgari, but no-one knows of them.
      (
) From the galaxy the UE and Zidagar went to are the all-powerful Prylak, to be brought in by moderators at some time.
(*) The Galactica capital at F-25 was made, a huge station.

    • Paladin smiled. He stood at the deck of the Garland, his incredible supercruiser, as they closed in on F-25. Over three hundred warships that had been built over then ten years, known as Dragons, escorted the Garland, and number of smaller Drakes and Wyverns came in the flanks. The Zidagar, at their supercruiser the Savior, and a fleet of advanced Zidagar vessels flew by the side of the UE fleet.

The time was nigh. Finally, the UE and Zidagar would return, and take back their homes. First, they would enter the old galaxy at F-25, and then they would make their way out to find what awaited them. Nothing could stop them. Paladin knew that. Both armies were significantly more advanced than they were ten years ago. Paladin, now an aging man, had never felt better in his life. He swept his long gray hair away from his face, and turned to the officer piloting the Garland.

      "Time?" Paladin asked.

"Three minutes now," the officer replied.......

      ---------------------------------

The two fleets leapt out into what was beginning to become known as the F-25 system. They were shocked to be confronted by a huge army - an army bearing magenta colours, an army of Galactica. From an enormous station orbiting F-25 sat Battledoctor, leader of Galactica. His orders had been sent out when scanners detected the fleet coming, and over four hundred Galactica cruisers were in the system.

The battle was inevitable. The three armies moved forward, without any need for speaking, and attacked. Both sides were amazed at the technology and power of each other, and the battle involved many mistakes. However, as huge as it was, very little interesting happened. The Garland merely moved forward steadily, incinerating everything in it's path.

Within less than an hour, Battledoctor was forced to flee F-25 in his Galactica Dreadnought, untouched by the battle. Dozens more cruisers came with him, but many had been lost. The UE had lost almost fifty Dragons in the battle, but already the old Galactica capital was gone. The UE and Zidagar had their first victory, but how long it would last no-one knew.

Both fleets settled down around F-25 for the time, worn out. Galactica could not strike back just yet - not so early - so for now the UE and Zidagar had to try and get ready........

    • Rima tried to ignore the excitement in the air. Her people were running around making sure every single thing was ready. They had all looked forward to getting home but now they were more focused on making sure every ship was in top shape. The Humrugar fighters she had created long ago still lived with the new technology in them. They buzzed about Savior even though they were only a few of them. Rima walked about Savior looking carefully around to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed too. The youngest of the crew could barely keep to their stations. Everyone wanted to jump away and look out at F-25. To look at part of the home galaxy. She realized everything was great but the crew could not be kept away from the windows. She laughed and went to the bridge and relayed a 5 minute break for everyone. The whole crew pushed and shoved to the windows.Only a few of the older ones laughed and waited for their turn. Rima smiled and kept watch on all the ships moving about. A few humrugar were now on patrol on the edge of the system. Rima went through all the ships to make sure everyone was fine. Rima sat down after seeing everyone was fine. So far everything was good.

    • Since I, the Prylak leader, and my race in Reign of Chaos II, are not going to be in the game for a while, I shall simply activate research.

The first research project will essentially be two, combined into one. The Prylak cloaking device, and the Wraith fighter.

Even though Esponer has already told me how long this should take, I'll post the exact stats of the fighter, as I wish it to be more powerful than Esponer thought, and therefore needs more time to research. I believe that fifteen posts should be sufficient, in this case.

      Weapons:
      -Primaries:

      • Two Swivel Photon Cannons

      • Two Swivel Plamsa Cannons (this was made a primary for this one ship)

      -Secondaries:

      • 8 Pilum missiles

      • Four Dumbfires

      -Specials

      • Two Fission cannons

      • One extra slot

Shields: Roughly equivalent to the Arada.
Armour Roughly equivalent to the Helian.

All movement: Roughly equivalent to the Crescent fighter.

      -Campbell

PS-If I'm just going to continue researching, do I simply post things such as '{research continued}'?

PPS-Should I put all my tech onto a webpage, or is Esponer or someone else going to do that?

    • All of a sudden, all the officer's on Rima's ship, see a lone Galactica fighter buzzing about. The Humrugars attack it, but the lone fighter is able to evade them with its speed.. it slows down, with 5 humrugars on it's tail, turns around, fires it's P. missiles, and disables a few, uses the inferno cannons, disables a few more, obviously showing off. The fighter sends out a hail to the Savior

Greetings, Rima. I can only hope that this is you, I recognize these fighters from a design that was really something a while back. I see you upgraded them well. Welcome back to the Galaxy, do you remember a renegade named redchigh? he died in a battle, he left me a message to find your govt and join you. He left me pictures of our ships, and detailed scans, which you seem to match. I'll get to the point, I wish to work for your govt. I stole this fighter, and upgraded it heavily. You wont see any other galactice fighter move like that. I'm good at infantry, and hacking, and a decent pilot, though not very good at strategy. my stragegy is usually just to shoot. Anyway, I'm looking for a govt to work for. So, will you hire me?

    • Techs:
I bet UEC knows why I'm using these (they work well don't they)
      Ships:
Azdgari Warship-Same as in EVO, but upgraded to scale
Azdgari Nova-5 million credits, light warship with heavy secondaries and 2 nova turrets (has 20 SAD's, 20 stalkers, 10 dispies, 8 plasma mines, and 10 torpedoes).
Azdgari Wasp-2.5 million credits, an Azdgari Arada variation, carries stalker missiles instead of dispies and has 2 nova turrets and 3 swivel nova cannons.
Azdara Bomber-An improvement on Azdara, it has 2 swivel nova cannons and 4 plasma mines. These are meant to replace the azdara but the older designs will possibly be brought back.
      New Weapons:
      PRIMARY
Nova cannon/swivel/turret- A higher powered phase weapon, better against shields.
      SECONDARIES
Stalker Missile-improvement on pursuit. Its faster, stronger, and harder to jam.
Phase Torpedo-A new weapon made for the azdgari nova, slow but powerful, made for taking out larger ships.
Plasma Mine-A ball of plasma in a round container, dropped from a ship. Does huge damage.
      SPECIALS
Shockwave missile-remember what happened to earth? Well they're back. These are ultra-powerful weapons that cause a shockwave capable of cracking a planets crust. little explosive damage though. Also, Planetary shields are not a defense, because the shockwave would still travel. They use FTL speed for cruising so as to evade enemy fire and gain the power for the impact. Hard to avoid or destroy. Multi system range. Problem is, I only have 2 of them, and building more is exceedingly difficult.
Base Nova turret-A weapon installed on a planet, fires from stellar's shields. Hard to kill, and can help in defense. Many installed on all my stellars and stations.

First moves are yet to come...

    • akk, my post got deleted becuase I enetred my pass wrong. So this is just a summary.

Galactica fleet at F-25 has arrived at Galactica Prime. They entered through it's primary shield grid for repairs.

My ship, the G.S.N. Triumph set off in the general direction of UE space to do things.

Patrols where sent into the Ji Nebula to keep a track of UE forces. Galactica forces are congregating in the systems just beyond the choke points to the Ji Nebula, with backup fleets in the systems behind them, ready to enetr to provide fresh forces. Anything that does try to get through will get seriously pounded. The fleets are arranged so that they cover the hyperexit points for fleets, with primary weapons on autofire. Anything that does come through will enter a rather large hailstorm of weaponry.

      ------------------

    • Yoo Oe, a high rankng officer in the remnants of the Azdgari Navy, walked onto the bridge of his warship with a cryptic grin on his face. He looked at a screen showing the latest quantities of ships under his command, all built in secrecy.
      <Ship listing for: Yoo Oe>
      Warship = 500
      Nova = 800
      Wasp = 1500
      Azdara Bomber = 2500
      <End>
His smile grew. It was time.
"Captain, assemble the fleet in orbit of Veltes. I am leaving on my personal ship, I expect to meet the entire force there in one hour."
30 minutes later a green streak of pure speed jumped into the system of Azdgari. The wasp settled into a low orbit, observing the assembled fleet. He was glad Galactica patrols of this area were laxed, usually only once or twice a day were their ships seen in the system.
He sent a message to the commander of each AW task force (1 AW, 1 Nova, 3 Wasps, 5 bombers):
      "Follow."
The 5000 ships broke up into their groups of 10, Flying in tight formation. The other 300 Novas formed up around the single small ship that led the force.
He jumped to tollb, then on through emnin into Mark. 'Good' he thought, as he saw very few ships in the area. They were too stunned to do anything as they saw such a massive force approach them, coming from nowhere.

The fleet left as it had entered, although it left a system full of scrap metal and a planet covered with the slagged remains of the once-proud cities.
The fight for freedom has begun.

Also, start researching a carrier type ship, a cheap way to transport many azdaras.

    • "Twenty seconds to air!" a voice said as Thunder, cheif reporter and head of the Galactic News Network, sat down behind the anchor desk. Taking note of the signals from his crew, he turned toward camera 2 and waited for his signal. On a monitor across the way, he could hear the introduction, "... News from across the galaxy... This is the GNN daily update, with your host, Thunder"

"Good day, everyone, and thank you for joining us for our inagural broadcast. Today's report is extremely special for all of us here at GNN - our headquarters here in beautiful metropolitan Kayia are finally complete, and our broadcast equipment set up to reach across all of Galactica space, and beyond - there is nowhere in this galaxy that our signals do not reach, and nobody who will not have access to our information. We here at the GNN will work as hard as we can to bring you the news that matters from across the galaxy, with a fleet of aradas and three beautiful crescent warships to bring you live, on location reports from across the galaxy. Whether it's a natural disaster on Tumni or a space battle in the Ji nebula, we'll be there to bring it all to you.

Our top story tonight, and what a top story it is - There is evidence of a massive battle between Galactica forces and unknown invaders in the Galactica capital system of F-25. Initial reports indicate that the invaders are none other than the UE and Zidagar, who were exiled from this galaxy almost a decade ago. From the transmissions we've recieved, and the traffic in the region of space surrounding the Ji Nebula, it appears that the UE and Zidagar forces were successful in capturing the system. Casualty reports are not available at this time, though we will do our best to bring them to you as events warrant. We have already sent five of our GNN aradas to investigate these incidents, and they are already en-route to the Ji nebula. Of course, the effects of this invasion will be massive, and we will have more on these implications in a special report later this evening. In the meantime, stay tuned to the GNN and we will keep you up to date on these amazing events. Now, I'll turn things over to our local science expert, Dr. Kylan Gecin, for an update on the meteor storm in the region of New Mira."

Thunder waited for the signal that he was off the air, and looking over on the monitors on the wall he could see the tall Miranu scientist standing beside a graphic explaining the meteor storm and it's effects on trade routes in the system. He stood up and exited the room, heading down to the operational headquarters two floors below the studio. Inside were dozens of busy GNN staff, ranging from interns to news veterans, all working to gather news and reports from all across known space. When Thunder entered, a young Kayan (he was most likely an intern, most of the interns were locals to Kayia) "Have you seen this?" he asked, handing Thunder a datapad detailing the latest news about the UE and Zidagar return. "I think the GNN is about to be in very high demand...

    • Things galactica is now researching:

Advanced Cloaks. Current models of cloaks have been rendered unusable by recent advances in sensor tech, as well as the appearcne of advanced UE ships.
As a sub-division of this, work is to be done on Stealth Fields, which will be to confuse enemy sensors. Minituarization of old closks is also to be done with modern technologies, which shouldnt be too hard.

Construction of stations in Pust, Isled, Avann, and Dogover begin. The planet in DSN-9418 is stripmined for the materials. building these stations will take a while, but the primary power core and shields will be up quickly, with weapons and primary hull to follow.

      ------------------

    • MOD: AradaPilot, those shockwaves are.... Out, sorry. I don't think they did very well (well, they did, but they ruined the game a bit) so I'm afraid I can't let you have them. You may research a weaker version of them, if you contact me about it. Also, no one post battles! How many times will I have to say that...

RMA, please understand you can't move all those ships that quickly. The UE can easily slip a fighter through before you get in position, or indeed slip a number of ships through as a decoy. Also, building four stations will take a huge amount of time and money - I'd advise against building them all together. If you do that, it might be as long as 20 posts before you have them all up and running, perhaps even more.

Going by the amount of ships Galactica has, their would already be a large number of ships their. You dont actually have to move ships all the way across the galaxy to get their, just do a domino effect. Move ships a system. Move ships in that system another system, and ships will be in posiiton very quickly.

As for the stations, I really just wanted to check something. One in Avann is cancled for now.

    • "Fasen Two and Four, power forward batteries and fire full on the lead vessel. Fasen Three you're with me on the rear Lazria." Hawk sat at the helm of the Zephyr, his personal Arada. Hawk was Kisani, born to Zachit parents who followed the Zacha ideals. He had lived with the Zacha on the Raganok, a huge cityship that served as the Zacha's main base, home, shipyards, for a decade or more. When the last leader of the Zachit, a Miranu named Arden died in a renegade raid, Hawk had stepped forth to claim the title.

Right now, he and three other Zachit Aradas had followed up on rumors of a building rogue fleet left over from the old renegades of years past. It contained little more then three Lazrias and a stolen Zidara with her fighters. As of now, both fighters had been destroyed along with two lazrias.

Hawk made gestures with his hand and lights and images flared; it was a unquie interface that allowed for greater things for his ship. The Zephyr split off from the two ships, followed by a second Arada as they headed for the remaining lazria. Both ships headed in for the kill, flanking the renegade ship so it couldn't manuver.

"Fasen three, focus fire on forward weapons array and fire when I do." "Understood, Zephyr."

Hawk tapped two fingers on the interface and targeted the engines of the lazria, then opened fire on the ship, his phase cannons ripping through the shields and hitting the engines. At the same time, the phasers of the other Arada hit the forward turrets and rocket launchers. The ship was totally disabled nd helpless. "Fasen Three, the kill is yours. I repeat the kill is yours."

Hawk made another gesture and the Zephyr fliped 360 degrees, and veered off for the Zidara. The Zidara had just finished it's dogfight with the two other Aradas and was fleeing to the outer system and hyperspace. One of the Zachit ships engaginig it blew up, the pilote's pod ejecting, while the other veered off, shields down bare. The Zidara was heading Hawk's way; the Zacha leader smiled and ran course under it, strafing with phase fire across the hull. Two seconds later, the Zidara was disabled.

The Zephyr came back around and stoped directly above the disabled Zidara and Hawk opened a link to the lead ship. It seemed only ten people were onboard, small considering the ship's size. "Rogue vessel, you have broken the rules of the spacelane. You've raided and plundered merchant ships and are hereby to be destroyed. Surrender your ship and eject, and we will let you live. You have thirty seconds to respond."

Ten seconds later, three pods ejected from the ship and where quickly intercepted by Fasen Two. Fasen Three had already destroyed the lazria and retrieved Fasen Four's pilot, a human named Jordan. Hawk smiled and ordered the three remaining ships to take postions around the Zidara. After a bit, Jordan was depostied on the Zidara and had the engines up in less then twelve minutes.

"Fasen Squad, prepare for jump. Let's go home."

With a new ship in the Zachit's control, they jumped into hyperspace, ready for the two day jump back to the sytem where Raganok was currently postioned at.

    • Hawk stood in his office, overlooking the commerce outside Ragonok. The ship was nearly three miles in length and served as the Zacha’s home, docking port, and military base. With great defenses that could put to shame a dreadnought a hundred fold, it was a shinning beacon in the night against those renegades, pirates, and marauders left over from the renegade threat. Raganok was home to over 400,000 people, Zacha and civilians alike. A few merchant ships moved away from Raganok while others moved closer. Zacha ships, Aradas, fighters, and a few of the renowned Kaelnir Frigates swirled around, on patrol for anything funny.

Hawk turned around at the beep coming from his desk. Ever since his return eighteen hours ago, he had been up to his ears in reports and requests from governments. He had taken care of them, and focused his attention on the captured Zidara; it had been refitted and its weapons replaced. The phase turrets and phased beam had been removed for other uses and two phaser emitters installed along with a sensor cloak and upgraded engine maneuvering, speed, and acceleration systems. Work was still progressing on it, but within the next day or so, would be completly integrated into the Zacha fleets. It had been given to Jordan as he had lost his ship.

Hawk walked over to his desk, his Kisani features showing even when irritated. It was his deskcomn beeping, apparently an message from one of his officers. “On viewer.” Sure enough, Lt. Konsi, a Marina in charge of communications, appeared on the screen. His expression was one of exhaustion, apparently having pulled a double shift. “Sorry to bother you, Hawk, but there’s something you should see on GNN. It looks big.”

“Thanks for the tip, Konsi. Aside from that, get some rest, man. You look like the Fates drug you through space and back. That’s an order.” Before the Miranu could protest, Hawk switched off the monitor. “Computer, find GNN and display.”

GNN or Galactic News Network was the major source of news in the known galaxy, covering every major and minor event worth describing. “GNN on now.”

It popped onto the monitor. Thunder, the head of GNN, was on describing some event. It caught Hawk’s attention.

Hawk shook his head. “Fates help us. Off viewer, and keep me on notice about anything concerning this event.” “Understood. On another matter, you have just received one message.”

‘Display now.” A message came up on the screen, and Hawk read it, his attention on it. From BattleDoctor of Galactica requesting our services.

      (Message, Gamma-5 encrypted)
      To: Hawk, Zachit
      From: BattleDoctor, Galactica
The Galactica Empire is currently looking to hire the Zachit for a large scale and possibly quite dangerous job. We are willing to pay you very well for your work, provided it is satisfactory. Due to the senseitive nature of the assignment I cannot divulge the specifics at this moment. Send a message in return if your organisation is interested.
      (End message)

This can’t be good. But it could prove useful for a plan.

“Computer, record this following message.” “Standing by for recording”

      Hawk nodded and recorded:

      (Frequency Gamma Five encrypted)
      (Receiver: BattleDoctor)
      (Sender: Hawk, Zacha Commander)

BattleDoctor of Galactica, I am interested in your proposal. However, if this has anything to do with the attack on F-25, then I may have to decline. My people walk a very fine line in alliances, and we dare not upset someone who could do us major harm. Therefore, our price is not cheap, considering what is at stake. My price is of one of these two options: A system to call our own, perhaps the system of Sirabor or one ship to replace the ones we would lose in this offensive. I ask for the system of Sirabor as a first, so please consider this one first.

      Hawk of Raganok

“End recording and send.” “Confirmed, message has been sent.”

Without another word, Hawk turned back to his window to view the open space about Raganok.

    • As BattleDoctor finished reading Zacha Hawk's message, he was not entirely sure how to respond. No, the job he was offering the Zachit was not directly related to the f-25 incident. However, the job would have the potential to be very dangerous, and the Zachit could lose many a ship, a thing which they had expressed concern about. BattleDoctor decided to send the Zachit a full description of the mission he had for them, and then let them send their response.

      (Message, Omega-10 encrypted)
      To: Hawk, Zachit
      From: BattleDoctor, Galactica
From your response to my previous message, I am uncertain how you will react to the mission I have for the Zachit. So that you can better decide what to do, I am prepared to give you a full mission description:

In the short time since the F-25 incident, the Azdgari have become increasingly hostile towards the Galactica Empire. I assume they see our defeat at F-25 as a sign of weakness, and so Azdgari raids and other hostile activities have been on the rise.

At the moment, the Galactica Empire needs to concentrate its military resources on the UE and the Zidagar, which could present a serious threat. Ships and personnel from all parts of the Empire are being diverted to the North Tip and other areas surrrounding the Ji Nebula. At present, we haven't the time to deal with the Azdgari.

All that I want the Zachit to do is keep the Azdgari busy while the Galactica Empire deals with the UE and the Zidagar. I would suggest that you make a series of hit and run attacks at their borders, forcing them to concentrate on the home front rather than attacking the Galactica Empire. However, the Zachit may do whatever they deem necessary to keep the Azdgari from attacking Galactica.

Most importantly, you must not show any connection between your attacks and Galactica. If the Azdgari find out we are behind your harassing of their borders, all of your efforts will have been worthless.

Do not attempt to contact the Azdgari. If we find out that you have told them of this plan, there will be dire consequences. To keep your mouths shut about this, I will wire you 1 Million credits shortly after you receive this transmission. The money is yours whether you accept the mission or not.

    • Note to Espyd00d:
      a. It took about 8 shockwaves to destroy earth, I only have 2...It's not as big as you think.
      b. Sorry about the battle, but I think that there isnt much he could do to defend against a surprise attack with all of 5 ships he might have had there...

The emperor was relaxed at the controls, happy about how well the strike had been. He was at the moment accompanying a group of transports as they steeled down to the surface, under careful guard by the fleets above. He set the ship down for a smooth landing, acting as though flying was an instinct he was born with.
He stepped out and strode over to the colony commander.
      "Good afternoon, officer."
The young man saluted as he snapped to attention.
      "Yes, sir?"
"I was just greeting you, no need for formalities."
The officer stayed at full attention.
"And I greet you with utmost respect, sir."
"Bah. Well, tell me, how is the construction going?"
"Well, sir, the last group of ships that you just brought in, they contain the colonists. Most of the buildings are complete and ready for inhabitance."
      "Good, good."
"Also, sir, if I may I suggest you look at the latest GNN reports."
"Something important on that show for once?"
"Yes, I believe you will find it important."
"Sir." The emperor replied with a smirk.
      "Yes, sir."
They parted, Yoo Oe going towards the control center to listen to the news.

    • BattleDoctor sat in his office as he pondered what to do next. He had already ordered several of his Fleet Admirals to send the bulk of their ships to reinforce RMA's blockade of the Ji Nebula. However, there were still many ships not currently doing anything, and he was worried about the Azdgari.

"If the UE and Zidagar break through our blockade, we're gonna need all the ships we can get," he thought, "but for the moment I think I can afford to send a few fleets to take care of the Azdgari."

He pressed a buzzer on his desk. Over the intercom the clerk's voice said, "Yes, sir?"

"Find me someone fit to command a battlegroup of, say... 35 ships."

Within 10 minutes a chubby Igadzra was standing in BattleDoctor's office. The marks on his magenta epaulets indicated he was a Vice Admiral. BattleDoctor quickly instructed the Igadzra to take a group of 30 to 35 warships to eastern Galactica space and strengthen the defenses surrounding the Azdgari. Now, the Azdgari wouldn't have such an easy time taking systems from him.

      --------------------------------------

Mira is the Galactica Empire's center of Research & Development. 6 years ago, they designed the Inferno Cannon and they upgraded the Pursuit Missile, for Galactica use. However, the Pursuit missile is now hopelessly outdated, and the Inferno cannon could use an upgrade if the newly returned UE and Zidagar are to be defeated.

The plan for the Inferno Cannon is to revamp the power cores and develop a more efficient targeting system. This will increase their effectiveness manyfold.

The plan for the Pursuit Missile is to keep the missile's shell but replace all the internal components. A newer drive, better targeting, and more compact fuel systems will be added, as well as a fusion warhead which will increase damage greatly.

These projects will both take a while, but a refit of the fleet will be relatively quick as the R & D department has many fast ships at its disposal.

    • Across the galaxy, regular GNN programming was interupted by a flash bulletin. The image on the screen cut to Thunder in the GNN studios on Kayia.

"Good day, everyone. I apologize for interrupting scheduled programming, but events speed ahead and we're recieving our first reports back from our ships in the region of the Ji Nebula. Though there is a blockade in place, and no non-military ships are allowed to enter the nebula, we have been able to confirm that the invaders who attacked F-25 are indeed the UE and Zidagar. This long range scanner image, taken by one of our aradas, shows a large ship of some sort in orbit of F-25. At this distance it's difficult to identify without military issue scanners, but judging by it's sheer size we believe it to be the U.E.S. Garland - a powerful supercruiser which fled the galaxy with the UE and the Zachit when they left a decade ago.

What you are seeing now is a live feed from our arada Observer 5, showing a large buildup of Galactica warships in the Hrekka system, just outside the nebula. It's as close as we're going to be allowed to get to the action - whatever that action might be. In the time that our ships have been present, we've seen at least two scouting patrols of what appear to be Zidagar ships, perhaps checking out the forces gathered to meet them, but neither time did the ships stay long enough to confirm their identity." A blurry image of a purplish ship appeared behind Thunder. "This is an image of one of the patrolling ships - it was entering hyperspace even as we shot this photo. Our aradas will continue to patrol the area, and we'll bring you an update if and when any action - or battles - occur. It does not appear that a war has broken out at this time, but the standoff is tense, and could erupt into fighting at any time.

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled programming, but be sure to join us for tonight's daily update when I will be joined by our cheif Azdgari Politics correspondant, Arae Kytan, to speak with us about the effects on the Galactica - Azdgari border of the events in the Ji nebula. Activity along the border has been growing, and there are reports of several recent skirmishes between Galactica and Azdgari ships, and even reports of a large Azdgari attack. Again, I caution all our viewers not to panic; a war has not yet broken out, but violence is increasing and we do not reccomend travel in any systems near the Azdgari border. We have two ships en route to the Azdgari border to confirm the reports of skirmishing, and we will bring you further updates as soon as we get them. For now, goodbye, and thank you for your time."

    • Scanners buzzed as two ships jumped into the Mark system.
The 300 Novas on planetary guard moved into attack position, and the patrolling flights (described in attack post, 1 AW 1 AN 3 Wasp 5 Bomber) closed a circle around them. Yoo Oe raced to his ship to investigate the duo of aradas in his new system.
As he approached and saw the weak piloting, he could tell they were not combat vessels. "Oh great," he thought aloud, "The press is here."
The emperor then flew a few quick circles around the GNN vessels and radioed them. "Prepare to die, evil reporting scum!"
He watched as the untrained pilots jittered the ships, trying to turn away as he tailed them. He radioed again a single word: "Heh."
The reporters soon realized he was kidding and returned to normal but choppy flying.

OOC: Note to thunder, you now have some limited info on happenings in the Mark system. However, this is VERY limited.
