Because I want everyone to play Galaxy's Edge the way it was meant to be played. Look, GE is 10.7 megabytes stuffed. At 4k/sec, that's 45 minutes to download.

In case you never noticed, you don't actually have to be sitting in front of your computer in order for it to download something. Next time you're having lunch of watching TV (or sleeping!), download Galaxy's Edge.

True, but with a disconnect every 20 minutes, it gets extremely aggravating. I did manage to download it, with a and guess what? I got an error message about "please increase EVO's Memory" I doubled the default, and tired with and without Virtual memory, still wont work. I messed around in resedit to see whats up, and the startup music "was not found" so I deleted it. I tested every single aspect of the game i could, but it still didn't work. Whats up?

IE5 lets you resume downloads if they're in cache.

I had the same error, but I just had to increase minumum and preferred memory size to get to work. The only problem with the game is that I have to either buy a new ship or force-quit EVO to get out of the stupid shipyards. Very annoying. ALso, I can't find where the missions for any of the major govts like China, USA or Russia start.

Try reading the readme. All you have to do is press return; all buttons in EVO have a keyboard equivelent.

China, USA, and Russia's missions begin on Divinity Station, either Truman Station or Mars, and Luna, respectively. You need to have a decent combat rating first tho.

The Earthlings don't give you all that many missions though; they just let you join their privateer services, which means that you blast other Earthlings for them. Though later on they do let you help with some attacks on other stations.

The three big mission strings are those of the Galaxy Federation, Starlight Corporation, and Kaitran belt government.

I've had several problems with the plug-in. There was one of the Galaxy missions where the planet was being attacked by Starlight forces. I was in a relatively crappy ship with not nearly enough fuel to power the lasers to take out all the ships, so you can imagine my annoyance when, after what must have been several hundred tries, I finally destroyed all the ships with the help of some allies, and then I landed on the planet and the mission didn't complete. Blasted off, checked again that the sector was empty, landed, nothing. Same thing happened with a mission at Ganymede, defending the planet from a Von Neumann swarm.

This problem effectively prevented me from continuing in the Galaxy thread, so I started over and tried the Starlight missions instead. However, there was a Starlight mission that was also impossible to complete. On the first "Destroy Convoy" mission, I calculated the time it would take to get out to the convoy and back, and it turned out that it would be impossible to do without running out of time in the ship that I have (200-ton miner, 3 days per jump), even if the convoy ships didn't have this annoying behavior where they would only stay in the sector for a second or two at most, causing me to have to keep warping in and out of the sector to blow them all up. At this point, I became frustrated, so I edited the plugin to remove the time limit. This worked, but when I got back to Rhea after blowing up all the ships, it didn't acknowledge that I had completed the mission!!! I edited the plugin to let me just complete the mission by landing on the planet, because I was getting extremely frustrated at this point. This worked and allowed me to finish the mission. However, on the second "Destroy Convoy" mission, the briefing text started with, "Good. It's a (error) convoy..."

Perhaps if a new version of the plugin is released that fixes the bugs, I will try it again.

I am deeply sorry that I did not test my plugin as thoroughly as I'd intended to towards the end. I was in a rush to release it because I thought that EVN was gonna come out any moment.
