...and I have this problem. looks around sheepishly Apparently the last time I played, I only played long enough to get a mission to defend station Raelion or something from all these Azdgari raiders, but not long enough to beat the mission. I have now completely forgotten all my old EVO skill. Any tips for dealing with a screen full of azdaras that, under the improved AI, kill me in literally .005 seconds in my massively upgraded Crescent Warship?

hey, haven't seen you in a while. try cloaking really really fast. that or get a cheat plug to use just that one time to run away.

I found it best to get the azdaras in some sort of a strait line; vertical or diagonal.Then i would unload on them with my dispersal rockets while holding down a for allign and firing my turrets at the same time. Turreted rockets also work pretty well. This would normally take about 2 or 3 out at a time.

And of course if you have to you can always use the forklift cheat.

Hey, I'm just coming back too. The best way fro dealing with Adzaras is to get 3 defence systems, manuver so several of them pass under your ship at once, and then blast em'. I've taken out 6 at once that way. But ushally I only get 2 or maybe 3.

Hmm, try to think of how to deal with Adzaras... Tractor beams suck... Monty Python sucks, even if it doesn't work on Adzaras... Damn, I can't remember any of my old meathods for dealing with those pesky things. And the defence pods don't do you much good if you can't get off the station.

In my Zidara I use afterburner to get away. They all come in a line and my phase turrets and phased disrupter beams finish 'em off. Or if I'm with the Izdaga (or whatever) I use the Plasma siphon. Problem solved.

...by getting version 1.0.0, where they don't give almost every enemy infinite afterburners, and then buy a Crescent Fighter and upgrade it fully. Then you're faster than them, and the problem is solved.

If I'm lucky, I can afterburner away from the station... But with EVO if I get one wimpy shot in the tailpipe while fleeing, all additional thrust gained by my afterburners is lost and I have to re-accelerate at which point I've been hit again rendering the afterburner almost useless for doing much in a swarm of Azdaras...

Guess I'll be trying some of those non-cheat strategies when I get the chance.

Okay, I did this a really cheap way. I bought an arada, put as much of the usual upgrades on it as I could fit, bought two rear phase turrets (the max you can get) and dispersal rockets then went out and Monty Pythoned everything to death. I also got really lucky and found no Azdgari warships when I went to beat that mission.

The basic technique I used was tapping the afterburner very quickly in a rythmic fasion so as to stay ahead of all the little ships that were faster than me, even with engine upgrades. Doing it this way coupled with fuel scoops lets you stay ahead of the pack almost indefinately.
