    • first of all this idea has been shot down time and time again and for shot fired there is someone to back me up
i like all the ideas here and i am not a programmer so i have no idea about the amount of work envolved but i would like to see you able to branch of from the original game aspects and be able to build your own star bases and colonize your own planets. for the strategy buffs like me it would add a whole new gameplay. why you could equip it with technology reserch your own and even send warships to protect it through a enhanced escort control interphase or maby in the future the gods of ambrosia could do a cd version that would be the same way only an enourmes galaky pople respond to this post with ideas

Um, actually you can do most of that with creative use of mďsn bits. And for GODS sake, would you please proof read your grammer/spelling!? It's almost impossible to read!

Where are we going, and what's with this handbasket?

    • The one thing I would really like to see in EV3 is better control over escorts.
      1. You should be able to have merchant fleets that can trade on there own without your interefering.
      2. You should be able to "give orders" (pre-program) each ship in your fleet to attack only certain types of ships.
      3. Like someone said before, the ability to outfit each ship in your fleet.

Also, it would be cool if you could own more than one ship at a time, and pay docking fees to have the other own stored on a planet or at a station.

      ------------------

    • When will the new EV be available to us in the general public? Just wanted to know so I could mark it on the calendar and count down the days.

    • Some good ideas already mentioned (maybe for Ev4, if there is one?)
      1. Many more ships, and ship companies that make certain types (something like Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagon, etc.)

      2. Better control of escorts (have them just disable a target), and the ability to outfit them like you can your own ship.

      3. However impractical, it would be cool to be able to paint your ship and escorts. Just a thought.

      4. Yes, it would be cool to be able to colonize planets, or do research, or have your own personal government. Don't know how hard that would be either.

      5. I like the idea of a 3d map.

      New ideas?:
      1. Maybe have things happen at certain dates, just like things happened in our world history. You know, Voinians capture Pax, new laser turret developed, colonization of New Greece started/finished, etc. And be able to use the things that are happening (buy the new turret, land at New Greece when colonized?).

      2. Have things have a certain random factor built into them, such as whether or not an outpost will fall (ever) to a different race and/or be reconquered, and have your missions affect the balance of the randomness.

      3. Hmmmm... It'd be cool to see an uprising happening, such as help a UE planet(s) break off and join a different faction, or start it's own government.

      4. Lastly, have someone offer you a choice in a mission, such as "We need your help. Would you rather defend New Greece or Pax?", with different outcomes.

I don't really think any EV series games would be good 3d, the 2d helps it be simple and makes it cool/different.

Also, I have a PC that I play often and am writing this on, and love PC games, but love Ev/o as much or more than any of those games, especially since you do whatever you want. There's no set agenda or mission, and that makes Ev/o special. Sniff*** Now I'm all emotional...

Anyway, I think there'd be a market in the PC world.(but who asked me, anyways).

Keep up the good work, guys.

    • i like idea #4, that would make for a VERY interesting storyline.

be forewarned all, ev3 is going to be a complete overhaul of ev as we know it! everything, i mean EVERYTHING except the 2d factor is different!

love for the game! love for the life! 😉

    • All of my friends love EV and EVO. We all also don't have macs only my Grandad does and when we go over there we get into fights on who goes first. We usually play homeworld of rouge spear but when we have the chance to play EV or EVO we fight and fight. That is how much we love the game and if you could make it on PC we wouldn't have to beat eachother up to play and we would tell everyone about it. So please to make life pleasant and peaceful for my grandpa and grandma you could make it on PC, We would also m,ake sure to pay the fee and we would make sure that anyone we know that has pays the fee too. Thank you for your time and please consider it. You could make millions of people happy.

    • My god man, you dug up a year old topic just to say that? Anyway, no, Ambrosia will not make EVN for Windows. It's an announced fact that they have said time and time again will not change. I can't blame whoever asked this, it's a year old topic after all. But why/how in the world did you just dig up this incredibly old topic for do say that Jester? LoL.

Even if they wanted to, it would be an incredible amount of work to port it. EV relies ~very~ heavily on the Resource Manager, which is nonexistent on Windows. Therefore, Matt Burch would have to write the Resource Manager ~from scratch.~

As WarBeast said, this is a ~very old~ topic. To anyone here, don't rely on any of the information or speculation you see above. If you want to learn more about Nova, head on over to the official (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum;=EV+Nova+web+board&number;=26&DaysPrune;=2&SUBMIT;=Go")Nova Web Board(/url), read the current threads (especially page two of the Shame on Aurorans topic ;)), and post if you have any more questions.
