    • Out of fuel!!

Hey, I made a rookie mistake while playing EVO and ran out of fuel. I know that usually you could just ask someone to help you, but I am investigating the lower nebula on that mission. I forgot about my fuel and landed on the planets their. I can't refill on fuel and I can't reload my pilot file since it saved when I landed on the planet. I was wondering if there was any way I could get more fuel without having to start over. I am pretty far along and have invested many hours into this pilot. I have a rudimentary knowledge of ResEdit and would use plug-ins. If anyone is able to help please reply. Thanks!

    • Most of the plugins to add fuel I have come across involve cheater plugins to make unlimited fuel tanks and whatnot that you can buy at a planet. I don't know of any pilot hacking files that can increase fuel for EVO, just EV. Maybe somone should write one. You may however, be screwed. Good Luck!!!!! In the future, you can bring along escorts, then release them and either ask them for help(really fast) or then attack them and take their fuel.

    • You'll probably have to hack the data file with res-edit and make the planet that you landed on inhabited, that way you can refuel when you land. Afterwords you can change it back, no harm done.

Spöbs have lots of flags to deal with, it'd probably be easier to increase avgships in the s˙st resource, so you could disable/bribe one of them for fuel.

So go on the internet game sites and bash all the PC users!

    • Or you could just download ACE from cnet and load up your pilot file by dragging it over the ACE application and put a few hundred more units of fuel under the fuel title.

Or atleast give the player's ship a higher fuel capacity...

That won't help much, because he's already out of fuel.

    • If you wanted to cheat, just use the pilot file editor available at the EVO addons site. Very easy user interface. If you don't want to cheat, your kiinda screwed. Why didn't you use the fuel scoop anyway? Never need to refuel again with that 5 ton device. Another way to cheat is to add the Fuel scoop to your ship.

    • You could activate your escape pod. The pod will make its way back to civilisation... it depends how much money you have and how many unique outfits such as Zidagar Mods or the Cloaking Device you have. Could be a very costly mistake. Almost better to start a new pilot file.

If you don't have an escape pod (and why not?) then perhaps you can blow yourself up, which will take you back to your last port of call. Have a space mine launcher along? No... didn't think so... Are you registered? Perhaps Captain Hector will show up and obligingly start firing at you if you leave your Mac running long enough.

That's all I can think of right now.

    • I think your pilot is messed-up permanently and you next time you should duplicate( command + d ). Sorry but that is all I can say.

    • If you ran out of fuel in all the way in the lower nebula, how did you manage to get all the way back here to make this post?

That won't do any good. His last port of call was an uninhabited planet.

    • Just as a general tip, find a bounty hunting mission (from either UE or the Zachit) and DON'T COMPLETE IT. You will be followed by a small renegade fleet, which you should be able to disable and get fuel from. This saves a LOT of time...

It's easy to be wise after the event. Unless of course you're King Charles the First, and the event in question is your decapitation.

    • if you download "the Docks" off the EVO addons page there is a option to make any type of ship's fuel regenerate automatically. I've never turned it on myself though.

    • oops... I thought that first post screwed up when my internet disconnected...

    • I have not bothered registering EV Override yet, until I actually have money to spend, but, if you don't won't Cap'n Hector to steal your money. Duplicate your pilot file and when he robs ya, throw out your original file and use you backup. I do it all the time.
One more thing about Cap'n Hector, is it possible to delete him someway until I get the money to register EV Override?

I thought escape pods always took you back to earth? And what effect would this have on the mission?
