Ok, since the "Turrets of Override" topic has been somewhat of a success (atleast for the phase turret. :)), here's one for the cannons.
Blaze Cannon
The blaze cannon is one of the mos popular weapons you'll find in human space. Although its distance is limited, and it has a terrible reputation for being inaccurate, the weapon does boast an excellent rate of fire. When carried in numbers (take the United Earth Fighter for example), the blaze cannon proves to be a deadly wave to any fighters, and even a few capital ships. Cheap, lightweight, and maybe even made in the USA! 
Phase Cannon
Phase Cannons are perhaps the most popular weapons in Override. They are found everywhere throughout the strand worlds, and every fighter making patrol runs around the crescent is sure to carry them. Many would agree that the phase weapon is the best forward-firing cannon in the game. Having an excellent rate of fire, very good range, and above-average damage rate, the phase cannon pleases all.
Neutron Cannon
_Being the Voinian's chief energy weapon, the neutron cannon is the deadliest weapon of its type. Though the turreted version of the weapon is found sluggish and heavy on human vessels, this is not the case in the Voinian Empire. The Cannon version has extremely long range, at the cost of a slow rate of fire and extra weight. However, any ship that has the room to carry three or more of these weapons can easilly destroy any ship twice as fast as using any other energy weapon.
Emalgha Cannon
Since the Emalgha are a small and primative race, the only close-range weapon they have access to is this cannon, which fires large shells at short range. Although the Emalgha cannon performs as well as any other average energy weapon against shields, armor is a different story. This cannon was designed to do a great deal of damage to armor, and the Voinians live in dread of the weapon. The downside to the Emalgha cannon is its rather large size, short range, and slow rate of fire.
Well, that's all of them (all of the basic cannons, that is). After carefully deciding between the phase and neutron cannon, I'm going to have to throw a vote for the infamous Voinian menace, the neutron cannon. Great range and punch, just what I like. Come on and throw your vote, and give a reason or two if you like.
