I would just like to point out that that is actually a bad reason to start up a new board. There are so many out there already that the user base is spread thin, and many are closed for want of sufficient discussion. You're free to go ahead and try of course, but be realistic.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It's not a stupid idea, just an overused one. If you could come up with some kind of original EVO site with a feature no one's thought of yet, I'd be one of the first ones to check it out.

Because (as I stated before) it was just the result of staying up too late one night. Besides, there are already many better boards, like (url="http://"http://pub101.ezboard.com/bstarbasedelta")Starbase Delta(/url) (okay, you already know about this board, but advertising it a bit more could help it).
