    • Which planet or station offers the best service?

I'm wondering which planet, moon or space station the EV:O community think has the best outfitter? You could take into account the range of equipment offered, its usefulness, the prices charged and perhaps the location of the outfitter, for instance being somewhere that's not too far from one of your regular shipping routes, and not located in hostile territory.

I'm assuming no munchkin plugins are used.

    • Well, Pareen Station is great after you do the missions, and renegade worlds always have interesting outfits.

    • Mirava always has a load of stuff, and Xarnes/Veltes, whichever one has the outfit shop, is always nice ((url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard4.html#azdara")Azdara(/url) bays :D).

I didn't know you could buy an Azdara bay! Then again, perhaps that isn't so surprising... The relationship I generally maintain with the Azdgari could best be described as 'target practice'. Still, a UE Cruiser with an Azdara bay... that'd be nice.

Anyone else have a favourite outfitter?

    • Igadzra, after you've done thier missions. Otherwise, Mira has all Crescent technology.

      What's a munchkin plugin?

You'll die for saying that, once some sort of evmp is out.
anywho, all the moons in the azdgari system. They each have a specialty (ships, strand tech, azdgari tech)

    • I have to go with Paaren Station. Once it's complete, you can buy UE, Voinian, and Crescent technology there. It's also conveniently located for UE players.

    • Pareen Station has Crescent tech? What mission do you do to get that?

I didn't know u could buy strand techs at parren station.. i thought is was mostly UE with neutron weopons, dospect, and ammo for the rocket turret.
My next plug will give it all voinian techs...

    • Wasn't that done already? I think I remember doing the string for it.

Well, not Crescent weapons. But you can get the IFF decoder and such things there.

    • On EVO, I'd say the best outfitter would be Mira (no strings done) but with the mission strings, Paaren Station with all Voinian techs would be pretty good. In EV my favorite outfit station is (hey, I happen to be working for these guys) Pirate's Cove. It has everything from missiles to Tritanium, Space bombs to shield upgrades.....even Lightning Bays! In other words, 'the works'.

It involves midgets and chains. Other than that you probably don't want to know.

As for my favorite place to pick up something in EVO, probably Mira or Fridion.

    • Actually, he probably meant one of those funny little plugs that allows you to buy everything anywhere or something similar. Most likely a cheater plug or a plug-in which provides you with very powerful weaponry for some reason.

'Munchkin' is a derogatory term a lot of AD&D; players used to employ, describing typically a younger player, who wants the best of everything. A chaotic good paladin/magic user half elf (half dwarf) at level 18, with a +20 sword of Slay Anything I Damn Well Like.

They don't realise that this ultimately makes the game pointless and dull. In the multiplayer context of AD&D;, it also frustrates all the proper players who like to earn their rewards properly and exercise their brain a little. Finally of course, a character's power doesn't really have anything to do with enjoyment of roleplaying; playing a role... not necessarily that of a demigod.

So in EV:O, a munchkin plug would be one that gives you something that makes life too easy, such as giving you extra money, solving puzzles for you, speeding up your jump time, making the player's ship better or the AIs worse... or whatever. You know the kind of plugs I'm talking about.

Yes, you would need something like a UE Cruiser to hold the 180 tons of space the Azdara bay requires... 🙂

    • Ah hahaha, I remember the munchkin term. Heh, never could get me under that, I loved being a merchant.

As for best outfit? I tend to lean toward homeworlds.
