Is this a known bug?
Played through the Igadzra missions - jumped an escape pod to reset my status. Have started the UE mission where I have the cloak and bought a carrier. BUT...
The carrier had NO standard weapons. Not a thing. Cost 6M and it was empty!
So I start buying stuff. I can buy 5 fighters but I can't launch them. The secondary weapons list never brings up fighters. I can use rockets - after I bought them. And have the neutron turret. But no fighters.

Well, to launch UE Fighters you need a UE Fighter Bay. That's supposed to be standard on a UE Carrier, but in your case something glithcy happened and all the standard weapons were wiped out, including the Bay. And since you can't buy the UE Fighter bay, (Without the help of a certain plug-in whose title I can't recall,) well... maybe you should get another Carrier and hope for the best. Then you'd lose your cloak... that must suck. :frown:

Sounds sensible, Samurai. I suppose what I was looking for was a tip. Yes I have backup files that I could go back to that were before I bought the carrier. Problem is, what introduced the bad mojo? Maybe the last file is already poisoned - working progressively back through succesive generations of data files sounds tedious and too much like my day job on a bad day.

Get a plug called EVO Enhancer. It'll let you buy the UE bay. It'll also let you buy your cloak back too, i think..

Whatever you do don't listen to Redchigh. 
I'd avoid plug-ins like that, as they will lead you to the "mass problem" topic
that has been posted at a similar time.
My advance? Get a new ship, and I suggest don't get another UE Carrier - do the
missions for the UE Cruiser first (best done in a Crescent ship) - and use one
of those lovely cruisers.
At that point, a cloak won't even be needed.

cloaks rock.they make the game more funny like when you cloak and sit on the dreadnaught also same thing happened to me except i had everything but the bay and i soo want some fighters other than kraits.
