Post it to the plug-ins page. It would reach a wider audience and be easier for you (I think).

I think he didn't have a registered, fully enabled compression utility, so he had to do it that way. Thanks for sorting it out.

True enough. Good point.

Yeah, what does ".cpt" stand for anyway?

i think .cpt stands for compact pro, which is a completely crazy encryption utility. It is kinda nice that you can cut a single file into pieces of equal size, but it sucks cuz nobody uses it, plus it seems a little corrupt, so I wouldn't take the chance of encrypting anything with it. o well

P.S. The hell of it is, is that it was put into .cpt, then it was encoded with stuffit. o well

I figured out how to change the stars. But I think I have figured out a way to change the background another way. It involves replacing one of the resources in the actual EVO program file. I'll see if it works once we get the plug-in to a testable point. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and if it will work?

It sounds feasable, because there's gotta be code in there somewhere to tell the program that the background is black, so if you find the pict file, or code, it seems possible to change it (that is, if it's the right thing!)

Y'know, I think I completely did it wrong. The "ppat" resource in the EVO game is a 64x64 image of black with white stars on it as pixels, and I just created one that's solid dark blue. But I think that's something else entirely. I think assuming it had anything to do with the background was absurd on my part, and that as soon as someone who knows more about this than me reads this, they're going to be laughing for a very long time. I think I'll head over to the Developer's board and ask what the "ppat" resource is really for.

Yeah, entertaining. At this point, it would probably crash instantly, since I've replaced most of the default starting resources with blank, undefined ones. At worst, it would be almost the same as the normal game.

The ppät resource handles interference on your radar. In the EVO program there is a couple of pictures that make up the backround. This will actually be a complete conversion plug and you will have to replace the EVO program. I changed my backround once so I was just flying through total black, no stars.
