    • Not a single person voted for the poor helpless Voinians!! Well, I started out doing missions for the Voinians instead of UE since I wanted to buy one of their Cruisers. And I did the missions and got to buy one, and could capture nearly any ship I disabled and took time to board. And about this grammar thing, 'a' would be correct for both UE, USA, United Earth, and United States. Why? Because, the U at the beginning of all those words makes a sounds like 'you' and when a Y is used to make that sound it's not considered a vowel, therefore making it incorrect and making it sound incorrect to use 'an' for the above words and various other words that start with U. Now...back to the subject: I also agree that it was the Voinians who started the war by attacking humans without warning or provocation. This is a valid reason for dislaking the Voinians, plus the fact that they've enslaved God knows how many innocent races, and nearly completely destroyed the Emalgha. But they do have good ships, and they come in handy when you max them out with Neutron Turrets and some dispy rockets when you wanna blow some Crescent ships up for fun. And yes, the UE have much more maneuverable ships and have long-range guided weapons, but their ships aren't as durable as the Voinians, and they don't pack quite as much as a punch. The only real other problem with Voinians is that you can't purchase Interceptor Bays!! If any ship with the amount of space could fit one on, the player should be able to fit one of the bays on that ship if he/she chooses, and other fighter bays that are unpurchasable (yeah, I doubt that's a word, but what do I care?) should be able to be bought/sold by anyone who has one or can carry one! And that's all I'm gonna say.

P.S. Has anyone other than me tried fitting a CF Bay on an Arada? It works since an Arada has the right amount of space (as in EXACTLY the right amount) for one. And of you got like a Mass Expansion or something you'd have enough room for 4 swivel phasers after you sold the 4 ordinary ones!

    • Sorry ESPilot but I prefer the UE. Their cause is just (and that matters a lot to me) just like the Emalgha (see I'm learning) whereas the Voinians seem to conquer, kill and enslave people. Also though I like dospex (sp?) and love Bronlev and I seem to be one of the few people who like rocket turrets I can't really stand the Voinian ships. The frigate looks pretty good but only handels well(ish) with about 4 million on upgrades. The V. cruiser - lets not go there. Tough as a rock (fun in the crescent) but oh so slow. Set speed to 225 and his Caps Lock but its still painful. Granted the Carrier isn't much better but I flew that seriously once. UE Destroyers and Cruisers are more my style (when I'm not in my crescent ships).

    • Arrgh. VOINIANS. Have you ever bought a Voinian Cruiser and outfitted it all the way? I have taken down quite a few UE CRUISERS in one battle with that. The only problem with the Voinian Ships is that they don't come with full Weapons. But hey, you can fix that in a few minutes of outfitting.

When you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?
The Person who misspells "Voinian" knows not of the 50 gigaton nuke coming at their cranium.

Oh sure. No argument here. Anyone who wants possibly THE toughest ship shoud go for a Voinian Cruiser but I find them just too slow. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great ship but in my opinion (which is what the topic asks) I like UE better (though the UE Cruiser handles like a pig too. Just a healthier pig.)

    • Wow. So we've resolved the grammer crisis. Yeah, completely shagadelic.

Now that I've registered my incredibly humorous handle, I'll repost my vote...still for the UE. Hah, and I even killed that darned Dreadnaught, too. In my Ahem handy, fully upgraded UE Cruiser. Yes, my friends, the Blockade Runner made short work of that mile-thick Vonian armor.
But wait, you say! Why is the UE better? You never told us!
Right. The UE's better because of several reasons. Because I said they are, which is more than enough. And because their ships are plain ugly...quoting another board "Gray geometric shapes don't appeal to me." Also, UE ships, despite what the game may say, are still stronger. Watch an AI vs. AI Destroyer against a Vonian Frigate. Look, the Destroyer wins. Even without player piloting and outfits, the United Earth's fleet is just plain...cooler.
      So there.

      Do-spect armor? Hah!
I Do'spect that you're going to die, mister Vonian.
Intercepted from the UE Cruiser Blockade Runner, during attack of Dreadnaught.
