Two cloaked Odine Destroyers enter the Zidagar system. In "silent" mode, they have ceased all radar traffic and are drifting toward the planet. They manage to slip through the Zidagar sensor nets and land undetected on a remote area of the planet. The destroyers are cloaked and concealed in a rocky alcove. The Odine crew steps out onto the surface, and enter an old Aligned Crystal shaft which has been deserted for many years.

"Readings are strong here. Let's go to work."

The Odine plant small devices all over the shaft. These devices filter the air and retain any Ulbrium Carbonite that enters their area.

"Now, we wait. We'll check the filters tommorrow and see if we picked the a good spot."

The crew sleeps, taking turns on the watch. Once, a few Zidagar came near to the shaft, but luckily they walk away. The next day comes, and the Odine check the filters.

"Excellent. We got a good amount of UC, and it's fairly pure. Take one of the Destroyers back to Azdgari space with the UC we've collected today, then return every few days to pick up the next shipment."

"Yes sir."

With the appearance of the Odine and the IA we must combine our forces properly.
I suggest you concentrate on developing an advancement of the phased beamer.

Meanwhile, we are fighting the Voinians and the IA. The IA are still timid - they need
a good ruler before they can fight properly. I am organising a mass attack on the Voinians.

Try and send us 40 or so Zidaras - we will take care of retrofitting them with blaze
weapons and rockets.

Also, the Odine will try and strengthen their situation. After we have sufficiently
weakened the Voinians, I suggest we mass a large force against them - 70 of our cruisers,
and the number of destroyers, carriers and fighters I have to that ratio, as well as
your 40 Zidaras and another 50 should be able to handle them.

Esponer reconsiders his position. He begins work on the U.E.S Paladin, the most
powerful warship ever to be under UE command. It will be nearly 7 kilometres long,
with enough firepower to destroy a Voinian Cruiser in a few seconds. It uses phase
turrets, but has a number of Miranu Couriers that follow along behind it and retrofit
it with Blaze cannons when necessary.

It will also be equipped with a fully functional cloaking device, a cloak detector,
and a mass of long range missiles called STS missiles (stellar to stellar) that
can just about fire across a start system.

Work on it will take a long time.

I have begun work on the U.E.S Paladin, and have cancelled the attack on the Voinians.
However, send your 40 Zidaras over, and I will send 15 UE Cruisers and 50 UE Destroyers

"Well, we have heard of your appearance, and your strength. I hope you understand,

By the way, the U.E.S Paladin is easily a match for an Odine warship. If you want to
destroy it, you'll need a very heavy attack, as it is quick in hyperspace and fights
hard, with lots of shields and armour.

Samurai boards his personal Odine Battlecruiser, the O.E.S. Blackshade, and strides up to the main weapons deck.

"How's the installation of that Tachyonic Laser coming?"
"We're almost finished, sir, should be only a few more minutes."
"Great. Prepare to move out of orbit, I feel like testing some of these other races."

A group of eight Zidaras is on a raid into Azdgari space. Suddenly, the O.E.S. Blackshade uncloaks behind them and attacks. One Zidara is destroyed before it can even launch its fighters. The powerful Odine Battlecruiser crashes into the Zidara group, firing Ion turrets and devastating blasts of Dark Shrapnel. The Odine Fighters are causing widespread confusion among the Zidagar Fighters, cloaking and uncloaking, firing powerful Ion blasts. Soon 5 of the eight Zidaras have been destroyed by the O.E.S. Blackshade, and the Odine Fighters have toasted all of the Zidagar Fighters. However, one Odine Fighter was lost in that little scrap. The Tachyonic Laser powers up and lances out in a purple beam, causing devastation among the Zidaras. Soon all eight Zidaras have been obliterated. The O.E.S. Blackshade is at 15% shields, and one Fighter has been lost.

"Darn it, we lost one Fighter. Ah well. Withdraw to Veltes, we can probably get a new one made there. By the way, the test of the laser has been eminently satisfactory."

Luckily, the Zidaras were not able to send off any transmissions during the fight (they were jammed) so it will seem to the Zidagar that they were destroyed by Azdgari.

Esponer leaves the United Earth temporarily in command of certain under generals and
informs them that he will be commanding them for Zidagar space.

He then boards the Z.S.S Topaz and begins the long travel to Zidagar to observe the
Odine and aid the Zidagar against enemies. 5 UE Cruisers go with him, as does one
Crescent Warship- his personal defence fleet.

An Odine Fighter is spotted travelling south of Miranu space, obviously scouting out
the area. Esponer hails it:

"You don't stand a chance against us, Odine. We suggest you surrender and I'll
confiscate your ship and supply you with a Scoutship to get home."

The Odine Fighter replies; "Why should I fear you? 2 Odine Destroyers and five more
fighters are in cloak around here." As he says those words the ships appear, guns
ready.

A fierce fight breaks out. The Z.S.S Topaz targets one of the Odine Destroyers and
spearheads it, but soon loses it's shields. The Odine Fighters are met by dozens
of hunter missiles and a fleet of fighters, and although the UE suffer many fighter
losses, the Odine Fighters are destroyed.

The Destroyers fight back to back, fending off the 5 UE Cruisers, the Crescent
Warship, and the weakened Z.S.S Topaz bravely. Suddenly, Rima's Zidara hypers in
(can I please say that, Rima), together with several Zidaras, and they destroy the
Odine Destroyers.

Esponer continues on his journey, after leaving his Crescent Warship to salvage
whatever possible from the wreckage.

Esponer steps out of the Z.S.S Topaz after a very long ride.

One of his UE Cruisers was destroyed, the others seriously damaged, by Azdgari
hit and run attacks, and his Crescent Warship reported no equipment could be salvaged
and has returned to UE space.

Now on planet Zidagar, Esponer looks around. "What a depressingly meladramatic place."

"Sir, the UE cruisers U.E.S Imperial, U.E.S Aurora, U.E.S Wolf and U.E.S Hood are
being repaired on Tumni. They are also being retrofitted." one UE cadet reported.

"Good. I must speak to Rima to discuss the current situation, but first, how are the
Miranu?"

Controlling a different player is not allowed, UNLESS, that government is vital and
no-one has taken control of it as of yet. Thus, I make the following command of the
Miranu. If within 1 day someone becomes a Miranu leader my command can be revoked.
The Voinian leader may do this with the IA or Igadzra if they wish.

"The Miranu have informed us that they have begun work on the new prototype." another
cadet replied.

"Excellent. Soon not only will the U.E.S Paladin be ready, but the Miranu will have
the new prototype out. We will be unstoppable soon enough. Tell me, what are the Miranu
called this prototype?"

"The Trident. It is a heavy fighter with a long range laser beam that works as a tractor
beam, called a Pulse Laser. They use excellent cloaking devices and will work in packs
to quickly destroy large targets within mere seconds using their pulse lasers and SAD
modules."

"I know that, you idiot. Now get on with your work." Esponer snapped, and walked away
from the Z.S.S Topaz. "And don't let those Zidagar engineer freaks even touch my
Zidara."

Back at the UE headquarters work on the U.E.S Paladin is getting along well. Not quite
1/2 way yet, but it won't be very long. The model has also been improved - it will carry
Trident fighters instead of UE Fighters. This will make it a devastating weapon on the
battlefield, as it deploys it's fighters before the battle, has them cloak, and then
it's fighters appear to wreak havoc when the battle ha started and there is little
chance for the enemy to reteat.

On Vlagos Rima,after getting the message from Esponer tells the scientist to concentrate on the Phase beam. They look thoughful and were righting things down as she left.

Here are the Zidaras you asked for.I would also like to propose that we share all our technology.If we can combine some of our technology we may come up with a weopon that can hurt the Odine.

Everybody, I'm Esponer, okay? I changed the name because I was bored of it.

So.............

Paladin receives the Zidaras gratefully, and sends 20 UE Carriers, 10 UE Cruisers
and 20 UE Destroyers back, using fuel scoops to traverse the huge distance.

Paladin and Rima discuss the situation. They agree that they should share technology,
and the first ships to be designed for both of them are the 40 Zidaras Rima sent
Paladin, the 50 ships Paladin sent Rima, and Paladin's elite guard of UE Cruisers.

With work on the phased beamer, soon the Zidagar ships will be ultra powerful, and
the U.E.S Paladin, with its complement of Trident fighters, will lead the UE to
the planet of Zidagar, where they will crush all opposition.

Back at home the U.E.S Paladin is getting along well. A single Trident flies down to
New Taranto, where the U.E.S Paladin is being made, bearing the message "we rushed
the first fighter so you'd get to see it's strength".

The skeleton for the U.E.S Paladin is complete, and the phase turrets are lined up
and ready to be installed once the ship's insides are completed. Rendering it with
armour (standard armour - everyone has it) and designing the various levels and such
will take time, although the plan has already been sorted out.

40 Zidaras are looked over. They are fitted with the UE armour, which is stronger
than Crescent armour if not a match for Voinian armour, as well as some stolen
Voinian armour that is sold at Paaren Station. The armour means they'll have an
advantage over other Crescent ships, if not the Odine.

<don't worry, Voinian leader guy, the only UE mission carried out is the Paaren one,
and you've destroyed Emalghia already, so it's still fair>

Paladin talks to the workers over a comm. line. "Good. Send the Zidaras back now.
They're ready for combat up here now. I'll ask Rima to continue this pattern -
within a few months all our ships will use both our technologies."

On getting the Ships keeps there armour and weopons but also gives them each 2 phase turrets and at least 1 phase beam each.She gives the cruisers 2 beamsShe gives all of them fuel upgradfes and when they start to run oput of room she tells some one to get a scientist to make more room.A scientist fixes up the ships and there's a lot more room in them.Then she takes a rocket to Vlagos.She goes up to a head scientist named Shalck.She asks shalck if it's possible to put Phase Beam energy in a rocket.Shalck looks thoughtful."It's possible but It will take awhile to get some protypes and a new launcher."Rima nods and sends a heavily encrypted message to Paladin about what she's doing.

certainly prove a powerful weapon to be used on almost enemy ship.

Paladin wheels his Zidara around, firing phase shots at an Azdara. His Z.S.S Topaz
has already been fitted with armour, and Paladin feels safe using it against
Azdgari. The Azdara explodes violently, knocking another Azdara off course.

A third is destroyed by Paladin's phased beamer, and as two more come into range one
takes a dispersal rocket and another a barrage of phase blasts, both blowing up.

Two more Azdaras come within range, backed up by an Azdgari Arada. The Topaz takes
heavy fire until it disengages and flies out, whipping the Azdaras off at first,
keeping ahead of the Arada with it's advanced engines. The Azdaras catch up and are
destroyed by rockets, and the Arada is easily smashed.

The warship takes longer, but soon all that remains of it is a burning hulk of rock.
Paladin hypers out of the Terapin system and returns to Zidagar. His UE Cruisers that
form his personal guard have had similar successes working in groups.

After sending the message Rima gets aboard her personal Zidara SilverStar. She had managed to get a thing of dospect armour and had a SAD launcher on it.It was also equipped with a D.launcher.She had all the regular weopons and a Zidgar ECM.She flew to Plogok and destroyed some Azdgari ships that had managed to get in.She had put 2 of the destroyers here and a Cruiser.She ordered Her pilots to Take it to Vlagos.Then she lifted off and jumped into a Azdgari system and destroyed a few ships.

I'm sending Anna Balashova herself, as well as some other workers who have volunteered - they are all very excited about seeing your people and planets. They will come in one of the fleets of ships I'm sending for retrofitting regularly, but with some cloaked guards as well to ensure their safe arrival.

Also, I'm relocating over to Terapin. There are more battles there, anyway. Good luck with the phase rocket. By the way, the U.E.S Paladin is getting along well - I'm half way through fitting all the armour on it. After that comes the insides of it. It'll be armed with SAD modules, I've decided, as well as the STS missiles, as STR missiles aren't quite as accurate, although they are very powerful. I think 8 SAD launchers and 1000 SAD modules will be enough - and a huge number of phase turrets, of course. We have 3 Tridents on it now - the goal is 20.

The Tridents will take longer to complete than the U.E.S Paladin itself, I believe.

Paladin comes out of hyperspace to arrive at Terapin. There he is shocked by the appearance of 2 Igazras. With the help of 8 Zidaras, Paladin destroys the Igazras, and decides that the Igadzra must be up to something. After stopping at Terapin, he sets out to observe the Mark system while under cloak, with fuel scoops compensating for the energy loss.

Sometime in between then Paladin issues a message to the leader of the Azdgari, Arada Pilot:

Hi! Nice to see you! Have you noticed a dent in your fleet? My dear Zidagar friends and I have been casually blowing a couple of your ships into the sky. You know, you should really give them better shielding. Shield recharge isn't very useful when you get blown up before your shields get a chance to recharge.

Anyway, getting to the point, I was just thinking to myself, don't the Azdgari and the Odine have a lot in common? I wonder if maybe they're friends. Well don't get arrogant, pirate scum, because we are much stronger than anything you can throw at us.

On a friendlier basis, the Igadzra must be up to something. They don't have an organised leader, but they can no doubt smell in the air that we will fight in a great battle soon. I invite you to aid me in a raid in Igadzra space - the system of Mark, perhaps? Bring no reinforcements. I'll remain friends until we leave the system - you may turn on me if you wish.
