We have all seen it. The UE destroyer that runs around the universe, assisting people in peril. According to the EVO manual, the UES Incontrovertible was the flagship of the UE fleet, but was destroyed by Voinian ships while escorting a freighter convoy. That leaves a very interesting question. Why does the Incontrovertible still roam the galaxy? I would like to hear some other peoples ideas and thoughts about this supposed "ghost" ship.

I think Matt Burch just had a little too much to drink when he developed the Incontrovertible for EVO. No seriously, perhaps they simply made another ship with the same name and didn't bother to add the usual number suffix to the end.

Yes, that sounds reasonable. Alternatively, maybe the destruction of the original was just a rumour! A trick played on the Voinians to have them think they were getting the upper hand?

Now now, the story goes that way so you have a mystery. Much like if there was a fire and you found a body with my ID in it. LIKE I FAKED MY DEATH. The same deal iwth the Incontrovertible, the idea is that it is presumed destroyed but is actually still running around. Also, it is presumed dead in a frieghter convoy attack.....what kind of attack was it?!? That ship is so strong it must have been attacked by several dreadnoughts. Sheesh.

My assumption has always been that the ship WAS destroyed, and is now a ghost ship, roaming the galaxy watching over the UE's interests along the fringes of known universe. Eerie.

I never read that the U.E.S Incontrovertible was destroyed.

However, I assume that perhaps the crew of it revolted against the U.E, agreeing
with more violent ideas and disagreeing with the UEs freighter trade idea.

The UE said it was destroyed to cover it up - as if the ship was known to have
converted it could take a large portion of the UE after it to support it - and now
the U.E.S Incontrovertible roams around, still violent to Voinians but tied by
earlier oaths to the UE to not attack them.

I think that many dreadnaughts attacked it, disabled it, and boarded it. Now, it's flown by expert Voinian pilots, posing as part of the UE fleet, really trying to sneak their way deep into UE space where they can blow up Sol in their super powerful ship, the UES Incontrovertible.

I heard about that ship, but never seen it. Are we talking mystery here, or is the Incontrovertible really around?

I've seen that guy too, and I BLEW THAT B*TCH TO KINGDOM COME TOO. Read about it in MOPAA 1 if you don't belive me. And yes, the U.E.S. Incontrevertible is possibly a 'ghost' ship, possibly. Suppose that the Incontrevertible was totally overwhelmed by Voinian vessels, and he activated a Cloak, or some other means of escaping the battle. And then say he hyper-jumped out just as the Voinians started attacking the convoy he was guarding, and the Voinian leviathans wouldn't be able to get to him in time. This is merely my theory, you can agree, or disagree, but it won't change my opinion.

In my latest pilot Inconvertible destroyed the dreadnaught.Along with a carrier and 4 destroyers but the other ship couldn't have done it without him.I know I've seen 1 carrier and 5 normal destroyers try.

I met the Incontrovertible twice:

1. In UE space, playing as UE. I attacked it anyway, in a UE Destroyer, I think,
and got beaten to a pulp.
2 In Miranu space, playing as UE. Angered now, I attack in my Crescent Warship.
The battle was slightly longer - it got tiring though, as I was too timid to go all
out and bring its shields down, so I kept spearheading it unsuccessfully.

Some interesting ideas there. A lot of them are pretty believable and logical. ElGuapo, I especially liked your whole story, although it took me 1 and a half hours to read through completely. Weird definition. Perhaps some type of Irony? I have my own therory (Or do I?) which should appear in my story that is actually on the chronicals. I think the first part should show up within two months, and the plot settles around the Incontrovertible. I must warn that my therory is not realistic. (But then, it's just plot devolpment!)

I don't believe the Incontrovertible was destroyed. I think the manual said contact was lost, and it was presumed destroyed. I kind of like the idea of a legendary ship appearing every once in a while to save one's butt, only to disappear again into the depths of space before you even have time to thank it. I don't understand why UE command discourages belief in the Incontrovertable , it seems such a belief would boost morale, if anything.
