The last time I was on this board, the price of dumb questions was really high.

Well, it seems to me that most geeks I know are male. When girls waste time on a computer, it's usually on something other than games. I have 2 teenage younger siblings, one sister and one brother, and they have proven this generalization time after time.

Let's see, I think Jude and Zelda are the only other girls on these boards, I'm not sure but Rima might be female also. You can usually tell if they participate in a webstory... whether they refer to their character as a "he" or a "she."

Yeah, it seems to me that girls don't get involved in videogames as much as boys do. I don't know why...

Actually, Gigi, I know there used to be some girls on the EVO board, back when it was hosted at (url="http://"http://www.escape-velocity.com")www.escape-velocity.com(/url). And my guess is that there are quite a few more who play but don't post regularly. When Martin Turner first released Frozen Heart, he reported that many girls had contacted him asking him to do a plug with a female lead. As I remember, this partly led to Femme Fatale.

So I think there are more female EVO fans out there, but most of them don't spend much time hanging out here... maybe because they also feel that this is a guy-dominated board. Either way, kudos to you for posting with us.

I have had a mac since I was four so I grew up playing video games. Anyone remember Dark Castle, Rouge, or Pyramid of Ra?
Most girls my age didn't have computers when they were little. So while I grew up with it most of them didn't get a computer until middle school. None of my friends find computer games half as amusing as I do. Anyway...

Hmm....I really have no intention to participate in this conversation...Oh wait, posting on this topic counts too doesn't it? Ah well who cares? Most girls I know don't really have good games on their comps unless they're tomboys, and I know quite a few of those. And yes, when I was younger I enjoyed playing Dark Castle and Temple of Ra, and Shanghai, and other antiques like that which you hardly find nowadays. Personally, I think the reason girls don't spend time playing worthwhile games (e.g. EV, EVO, Starcraft, Diablo II) is because they spend too much time flirting and showing off insanely-colored lipstick.

Damn, you think that might be just a tad sexist? I mean both my sisters do this quite a bit, but any girl I actually consider a friend doesn't.

Divine Gigi- I assumed "Gigi" was a pseudonym, it's not an especially common name for guys or girls. It's kind of interesting, though, always nice to meet someone with a weirder name than mine.
