    • Well, I guess I ought to contribute some stories of me own...and believe me, there are plenty of 'em.

It all started out when I signed on with the Azzies in the Strand War. I got myself a beautiful Azdara and was proud beyond pride when I took down my first Igazra(with a little help). I then went on to complete all the missions all the way to the final mission to destroy Outpost Terrapin. I got there and the Enhanced Aradas and Azdara were nice enough to clean up everything but the Igazras for me....oh boy. It was me against four Igazras all of which were undamaged for the most part. The enhanced ships couldn't get enough fire on a single ship to do any damage so it was up to me. I charged in on short passes firing five phase cannons the whole time, waiting just enought for shields to go above fifty percent before charging again. I would have easily won if it wasn't for those SAEs. I easily took down the first one and was well into the second when they got smart and launched SAEs. I hid behind asteroids and did my best to avoid them while still taking down more Igazras. I was down to the final one and it had around 10% shields when I was hit by several SAEs in a row. My shields were down to nearly nothing and I was inches from the Igazra. Needless to say, I beat a hasty retreat until my shields recharged. After this, I went back for it and destroyed the Igazra. There is one good lesson that I got out of this fight. I'm bringing some Voinian Frigates next time.

    • Good story, Ubermann. However, I was pretty sure the Azdara could outrun SAE modules...It's a pretty fast ship. 🙂

    • Wow, I am surprising myself with this story. So, does anybody have any alternative information you want in the story? If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the parameters on page 5.

There are a few, I think I need a new name for, ESPilot, you haven't been on in a while, but you have contributed to this topic, I would like a different name, but it's not necessary. I just think people shouting "Hey ESPilot!" sounds a bit weird.

Anyway, check out the stuff on page 5.

Oh, I almost forgot, I have given up the chase for the Disco Bison. Why? Many reasons. I couldn't find him, hey, I spent like over a year searching for the idiot, in EVO time. And I'm in an Arada, so thats 365+ warps! Also, I have entered the Crew of One challenge, I'll post my status in here, if you guys want.

    • Well I guess when you want something you get it sooner or later Stud. 😉 Looking for Disco Cow are ya? I saw him mainly in Emalgha and Miranu systems, and once in a southern Igadzra system. And if you're wondering where I was, I was on vacation, a very expensive vacation that is, to Hawaii. So I basically don't have any stories at the moment. But I'll be sure to come back with more for ya!

      ------------------

    • Ahh, I see. Jealous I am, I wouldn't mind going to Hawaii! Welcome back.

I'll always be on the lookout for the Cow, but I am not going to madly hunt him anymore.

BTW, ESPilot, do you have an alternative name I could use for you in my little story? I was thinking ESPilot could be your codename, but, do you have another name I could use? If not, it's ok, but I thought maybe it would make it a bit more realistic. 😉

    • Yeah, Hawaii was fun. In the UE universe I'd have taken a trip to New Rome to see all the neat wildlife. And all these stories were pretty good! And, for your collection, if you're gonna use a name for me other than ESPilot, make it be Nick Starr, or Starr for short, since one of my pilot files is named Colonel Starr. I could tell some stories about battles on that file, like when I took on the V.E.S. Emylsium or something like that, as well as 2 Voinian Frigates. looks up at the sign saying 'Saalian Brandy: 0' If you can get from here in Hizdriar to Zachit Station, steal their Brandy, and come back here and give me a bottle I'd be glad to tell ya the story.

    • Since I started the "Crew of One" challenge, I've been around renegades a lot.....killing them ofcourse. I've seen a few amusing, and interesting battles since I bought my Crescent Fighter, which by the way is a FUN ship to pilot! I reccomend all of you try it out! Battlign with Kraits is fun! Not because they are easy to kill, but because you can dogfight with them a lot!

Anyway, I've seen a few interesting activities with my Crescent Fighter...

I was in the Chorca system, where I usually go for killing renegades to get some money, this time, I saw a Turncoat, two extra Kraits, and a Helian. I go after the Kraits, and dogfight with all of them, and have a good time. Ofcourse, they didn't have a good time...because they died. Anyway, I went after the Helian next, disabled him, boarded him, stole his money, blew him up, and went after the Turncoat. I fight him for a while, circling and dodging blaze fire, and get him disabled. Now from my EV and EVO experience, I've develped an involuntary routine of which buttons I hit when I board a ship. I don't think about it, I'll ALWAYS push "Credits" "Capture Ship". So I took his money, and with that nice 1% chance of capturing the Turncoat, I get ready to go after the krait that had just warped in before I boarded the 'coat. I don't go back to space, I see "use as my ship" "use as escort". Thats right, I somehow was able to take down a crew of 101 renegades by myself. Don't ask how, I just did it. I am playing with the "no escorts" rule, so I put him as an escort, and let him go. Now, I am used to my Arada still, so I didn't pay attention to my shield level, which was at 2% or so, at the time of letting the turncoat go. I started to fight the Krait, and he got a few rounds on me, and then I hear the klaxxons, and realize "Oh CRAP! I HAVE NO ARMOR!". So I blew up, and learned the importance of armor.

ANother time, I was in the huron system, watching a militia krait, and a renegade krait bash eachother with blaze. The militia krait had gotten a few extra rounds in on the renegade krait, so he began to run off. The militia krait then fired 3 shots at the renegade krait. I didn't have the guy targeted, so I didn't see his shield percentage. 2 of the 3 shots missed, and 1 hit the krait. The krait blew up. Thats right, a single blaze cannon shot hit the krait and he blew up. I thought it was pretty amusing.

In the Hatuli system, the U.E.S. Incontrovertible took down 3 Turncoats without any help, aside from his fighters. Because I am with the UE, I didn't want to fight him and lower my reputation. I could take him on any day!

Orders another round of brandy for the group Share away guys!

I guess renegade ships will be pretty scared of you now - 1 vs. 101? Man, they'll be quaking in their boots. At least they didn't turn against you when you released them again :).

    • I am also participating in the Crew of One challenge. I just fought the Dreadnought (No Pythoning Allowed!!) in my UE Fighter. Listen up.

I entered the Vorik system, ready to take on the Dreadnought, in my UE Fighter, the Avenger. She carries three up-front Neutron Cannons, and a kit of Dospect Armor. My four UE Destroyers warp in, and then the Dreadnought follows, looking like a big wedge of gray and red cheese, located about a foot from me. Only a quick spurt of afterburner saved me from being pummelled by insane amounts of Neutrons and Rockets, and I had a batch of about six Interceptors after me (the other four were entertained by the Destroyers.) I cut to left, firing a diagonal barrage of Neutrons which disable the first and second Interceptor. The next one is nearing me, when I hit the brakes and he goes past. I follow quickly, taking him out with Cannons, but that little manuever put me a little too close to the next Interceptor. He hits me pretty hard before I can take him down, but his pal is disabled by are dogfighting. The one remaining interceptor comes right at me, so I cut off course and strafe him. Boom. I target the Dreadnought. He's at 54% armor, so I take it the Destroyers did some damage while I was gone. I accelerate by, strafing him with cannons, and it's going fine till a Rockets nails me on the broadside. For some reason I was knocked the wrong way by that Rocket, directly through the Dreadnought. Luckily, I wasn't hurt. A UE carrier jumped in, and attacked the Naught, and with its help I won.

I suggest you get a CF, they are better overall, and if you slap on some dospect, you're fine! Thats what I did anyway.

I'll get right on the Dreadnought myself...........after dinner. Chinese food! 🙂

I'm still here, Stud. 🙂 I've been putting a lot of time into a plug I'm developing, thus the reason why I have been absent at the boards. I was just catching up on reading all the stories...

    • Heh heh. I took out the Dreadnought in my own UE fighter, no monty python-ing included also, in case you didn't read it on this topic like you should if you haven't. Crew of one challenge...I read that, and it sounds interesting. I hafta try it sometime!

      ------------------

    • Skyblade - Would that plug be the Dreden War? I am anxious to see that! 🙂

Speaking of plug-ins, hey Carnotaur, how are your plugs coming along?

ESPilot - It's fun! However very challenging, and I miss my Firebird. However, the Icewind Falcon has been good to me, and just a few minutes ago, I took out a Voinian Cruiser! Nothin big happened, I played dogfight with the fighters, stupid rocket-launching-rocks. I took them out, and then went after the big guy. A UE Destroyer was busy attacking it, but got destroyed, but not before putting a dent into the armor of the big lug. So I went to work on him, he didn't seem to want to move much, because I could stay in one place for a few minutes without getting return fire, or even a rocket thrown at me. Maybe I awoke him from sleep? So I hammered his hull with my 4 Swivel Phasers, and along comes another UE Destroyer, with the help of him, the boulder went down. First Voinian Cruiser I've taken out yet in this little speedy fighter! However, I don't like fighting Voinians in a Crescent Fighter. A few rockets and I'm down to armor. Also, rockets send me flying. I don't like that. I got thrown around in my Arada, but I could absorb the hit easily. I think I'll stay on the renegade end with this bird.

    • Ok, I'm making up for my long-term absence from telling stories. 🙂

(This story occured using the "Galactic Scourge" plugin.)

I had just destroyed the Confederation Cruiser "U.S.S. Hannibal," and had returned to the Rebel capital of Pashlife. There, I was paid for my devotion to the Rebellion, and I was granted access to the Rebel Destroyer. Previously, I had been flying a new Rebel vessel, the "Sentenial." The Sentenial was like an extrememly heavy fighter / light warship, and I had even seen them take out Confederation Frigates with there emense firepower. The Sentenial were armed with six mass drivers, one proton turret, and a generous supply of missiles and torpedoes. I now upgraded to the Rebel destroyer, and outfitted it for my next mission, which wasn't going to be easy. I bought plenty of upgrades, which gave my "Triton Corsair" a speed of 450 a.u, an excellent turning rate and acceleration that constantly saved me from the waves of Confederation missiles that often came my way. I fitted the "Triton Corsair" with three proton turrets, extra fuel tanks and ramscoops, shield capacitators and generators, and two torpedoes launchers, which had a somewhat rediculous supply of one hundred torpedoes. Torpedoes were my favorite weapon, and were crucial in the destruction of capital Confederation vessels. I was now ready for my next mission: Destroy the "Battlegroup Four" flagship, a Confederation Battleship. The Confederation Battleship is about two / three times the length of a Cruiser; It carries fourteen neutron turrets, which will tear even a Rebel Cruiser to pieces in a small matter of time. In addition, the Battleship carried about twenty "flea" class interceptors, which were extremely fast, and armed with twin proton cannons. In numbers, these vessels were dangerous. When I arrived in the system where I was to destroy the "Battlegroup Four," I was greeted by the ship's flea interceptors, and three Confederation Light Destroyers, which were the equivelent of the Rebel's "Sentenial." (The Light Destroyers also carried three flea interceptors.) So now, I have 29 Flea Interceptors chasing my ship as I attempted to escape their combined proton firepower. Had it not been for my excellent speed, the fleas would have instantly destroyed me. However, using menuvers such as swift circling runs, I was able to pick them off one by one. I had destroyed about ten of them while receiving light damage, so I decided to give them a rough firefight. I slowed my ship down to settle this chase, and fleas began to fly off in all directions, flaming and exploding. I was beginning to take proton fire, but there weren't enough fleas to finish off my reliable Rebel Destroyer. For about ten minutes, I fought the fleas, and by the time I had finished the last one, I was on my armor. Fortunately, I had fitted "Durasteel" and "Armaplast" to my ship, so my armor offered tough resistance. I was relieved I had finished the fleas, so I head for the Light Destroyers. The Light Destroyers looks somewhat like a Frigate, only smaller, with clipped wings, and stabilizers attached to the wings and hull. The Light Detsroyers were really cool ships: I hated to blow them up...BUT, they were Confederation, so I had no problem with doing so. 🙂 The Light Destroyers were armed with twin proton turrets, so primary weapons engagements with them weren't too dangerous. By the time I reached them, my shields were almost fully recharged from the long journey towards the capital vessels. By the time I actually saw the Light Destroyers on my radar, I had fired off ten torpedoes, which finished off one of them. I then made a charge right toward the duo, spraying them with proton fire. Their shields began to dip, in which one of the Light Destroyers exploded before he hardly began firing. The other Light Destroyer came right toward me, and we battled it out. We made three passes on each other, with my shields depleted to half-normal status by the time he was destroyed. Now, I could finally complete the actual meaning of the mission: Destroy "Battlegroup Four." When I saw the ship on my radar, I wasn't too excited, but I was extremely excited and happy I had such a large supply of torpedoes. Once on my radar, I began firing off torpedoes as fast as my twin launchers would allow, keeping an eye on the flagship's shields. I made circles around the monster, staying out of range of the extremely dangerous red neutron turrets. I kept firing my torpedoes, in which I was surprised at the Battleship's shield recharge rate and toughness. Each torpedo normally reduced the shields by one percent: far less then I wanted. By the time I had given the Battleship all of my 90 torpedoes, his shields were at 2%. I now had to finish off the flagship with my proton turrets, and fast. I made a "kamikaze" assault at the ship's back to avoid heavy rockets, and gave him all I had. My shields were rapidly falling, and I held out as long as I could. Atlast, I was on my armor, which was also falling very fast, so I quickly headed out of range of the Battleship's turreted death. My armor began to recharge, and I was about to give up hope of destroying the ship. Here he was, about five times the length of my destroyer, waited to kill me. I was wandering wether or not to leave the system, when my prayers were aswered. A Rebel Cruiser had enetered the system... Having my hope restored, I joined up asside the Cruiser and made the approach toward the Battleship. My shields were now on low / medium status, and the mantas made their assault. The Mantas, as expected were, quickly torn to shreds by neutron fire, so me and the Cruiser went in to finish the Confederation menace. We began to fire proton bolts rapidly, while fortunately the Cruiser took the bulk of the neutron fire (which I couldn't afford to take). For about 10 seconds, be fired away in a desperate attempt to finish off the thick layer of Tritanium armor. Finally, I let out a shout of joy as I saw the ship's status dip from "Shield's Down" to "Disabled." It took about five seconds to actually destroy the Battleship, even with seven proton turrets firing. I watched as the Battleship exploded, which took about 15 seonds...The ship drifted, began giving off small explosians all around the ship, before it actually blew. So large was the explosian that the Rebel Cruiser's shield status dropped from 28% to armor. My shields went to half-armor also, but aleast the Rebel's worse enemy had been destroyed: "Battlegroup Four." The Battle had been a fun and extremely tense one, but I didn't really feel like going out and seeking another Confederation Battleship anytime soon.

So did you like the story? All this took place last night...I've been generously giving my time to the Rebellion cause, and enjoying every moment of the Rebel mission strings. I would also like to recommend the "Galactic Scourge" plugin...It's excellent, and makes Escape Velocity twice as good as it ever was.

Thanks, Stud. I must say that the Battleship is a terrible scary vessel. It is huge, bigger then any ship I've seen for a plugin. Fortunately, the Rebels have a ship eqaul to the Battleship, called the Dreadnuaght. 😉 It isn't quite as big as the Battleship, but it is just as as dangerous. It carries plenty of Thrasher and Manta fighters. I've never seen a Battleship and Dreadnaught fight, but it would be one awesome battle of the did. 🙂 I'll write out another story soon...

    • I promised the battle story. I have the battle story. What story? The story of a Crescent Fighter going up against the Voinian Dreadnought. (note: I am making a few parts of this dramatic)

I landed on New Riga, and went into the bar. Of all people, I see Admiral McPherson sitting at a table. I go over to him, shake his hand, and sit down. He tells me the morons (voinians) are going to make their move. I lift off, after a few Saalian Brandy refreshments, and jump on over to Outpost Alpha. I refuel, restock, and go into the bar, for a resupply of refreshments. A group of UE Officers says they are going over to Vorik System, to deal with a buildup of Voinian WarRocks. They ask if I want to come along. I respond with 'Duh! The Dreadnought is over there! Ofcourse I'm comin!'

So we head on over there. With the combined forces of the UE Destroyers for the Voinian Battlegroup, and the 4 UE Destroyers for the Dreadnought, there are 8 or so UE Destroyers. The Battlegroup, and any other voinian ship in the system, except the dreadnought, was brutally decimated within seconds, by a barage of what looked like dozens and dozens of hunter missiles. I am just gazing on, looking at the battle, afraid I might hit an ally rather than the enemy. There were more allies than enemies. It came down to 8 UE Destroyers + Me vs Dreadnought. Within about 5 seconds after the 30 seconds decimation of the Warfleet, all 8 UE Destroyers are either dead, or disabled. I then realized it was Me Vs. Dreadnought. So in the Icewind Falcon, I begin circling, shooting, and circling and shooting for about 5 minutes or so. Then, Mr Dreadnought decides to use Salvo Rockets on me. Keep in mind, I was in my armor for pretty much this entire ordeal. I don't know what took away my shields, but I never saw 'em. Anyway, I now had to use my extreme evading skills to live. I did pretty well. About 50 Rockets were launched at me, in 3's, and only 2 hit me! I was dodging and afterburnering and flying and shooting and it was fun! Then, a Voinian Frigate jumps in, but so does a UE Destroyer. So those two go at it for a bit. UE Destroyer wins. I was busy with Dreddy, so I didn't see what UE Destroyer's shields were at. But he decided to take a shot at the big wedge. From this, I calculated how strong this guy actually was. The UE Destroyer went in, and became disabled when he was under the Dreadnought. Thats about 2 seconds of neutron shots before being disabled. So I go back and begin shooting and circling again. He decides to use Salvo Rockets again. I weave in and out, and even use the dead UE Destroyers as a wall. They died pretty quickly. So, I evade a few more rockets, and he then stops using them. So, foolishly, I go back in, guns blazing. He launches 3 Salvo Rockets straight at me. BOOM! Dead.

      Oh Well
