After thanking Pikera again for providing him with his new ship, Thunder and his crew rushed off toward the docking bay. Rounding the corner, they saw the bright blue hull of the S.S. Affirmation. As he walked through the entry hatch for the first time, Thunder relflected on the two aradas he'd had before, and lost; the Prism had been captured by Daedalus under the orders of the Corocians, and the Esperanto had been destroyed in the Renegade attack. He wondered if all merchants went through ships at such a fast rate...

On the bridge, Thunder piloted the Affirmation out of Mira's shipyard and into space, setting a course for Sol to inform the UE of the recent developments regarding the crystal and the renegade offensives against the Zachit and Miranu. Thunder was astonished by the speed of his new Zachit arada, it was the fastest ship he'd ever piloted by far. And that speed would come in handy, it would make it just that much faster that he could reach UE space.

I'm spending 2 mil. to add something to the new asteroid, and an additional .05 mil to use what is (currently) the only operational renegade space tug to take a bunch of smaller asteroids and put them in orbit of the larger asteroid, renamed (obviously by a very intoxicated pirate) the Alpo Porcupine.
I've captured Munb, it wasn't hard. The Miranu now have a greatly decreased supply of Munb leaves, some of which I am selling to them indirectly in under-the-counter deals and some of which I am selling to the highest bidder. Profits from the Munb leaves and the increased renegade activity in that area are increased by +.2 million.

The attack on Hizdriar was a failure: all the civilians were willing to either defend the planet or die trying, and I didn't feel like killing 8 billion people, so I only raided it, gaining 2 million credits.

Well, I got on my old ship yesterday (it's parked in the Crescent fighter bay of the Shadowfax, and, ahem, gined access to the Moebius computer, stealing 15 million credits and (being unable to transfer them to my account directly) uploaded them into the account of a major galactic fast-food chain, HmHounallh. 15 major Moebius executives resigned in disgust, causing chaos and anarchy to come unto the moebius project...

After having tested the normal crystals extensively the Azdgari try to run a deep blue crystal not yet in the green stages. the results are spectacular and because the borb turret is the most powerful turret the beam power is incredible, slightly mors powerful than the Crocian Supercruiser weapon.
One of these is fitted on each of the Azdgari supercruisers as the green crystals are still in development process

Just remember, Kiwi and Samurai, that the Corocian Supercruiser beam, the Enhanced Photon beam, is not super powerful. If you were to look at it with Res-Edit, it would do about 30 damage to shields and 40 damage to armor. It's not a super beam that can blow up stations just like that. Remember that. Also remember that it is MASSIVE, and can only be fitted on MASSIVE ships.

I know. Anyway, how are the Voinian ships superior? Their ships have your shield technology, and we have their armor technology. You gave them manueverability upgrades, but we got those from the Miranu so we're still much faster than them. Neutron and blaze weapons are now about equal, due to the development of blaze amplifiers. But whatever.

MESSAGE TO CARNO ENCRYPTED Why must we go out of our way to please you? You who are an enemy of ours and an ally of the hated Voinians. And if you think that you can easily defeat us with your touted Supercruisers, such may not be the case in a very short time. We will continue development of our crystal, and you are asked to keep your abnormally large nose out of our business.END MESSAGE

The UE commences work on a top-secret project that will make an attempt to "clone" the Blue Crystal. Work continues on the finding something that can counteract the Renegade bio-weapon.

Military defenses are fortified at the frontier. Preemptive strikes are made by the UE, picking off clusters of Voinian ships.

Why are they superior? Simple; Corocian tech is much better then Miranu or UE tech. However, I will have it so that their ships are equal to UE ships, but still a little better.

In the Paraan system, all was quiet. Traders of all kinds peacefully loaded and offloaded their cargo on Paraan and on Paraan Station. There were only a few UE Fighters in the area, all of the other ships had gone off to defend Alpha Centauri against a major attack made by the Voinians.

A perfect situation for the C.R.S. Demon.

The massive Corocian Supercruiser then decloaked, stunning everyone in the system because of its massive size. As the few UE fighters in the system began to charge it, a huge blue beam streaked out from the front of the demon and collided with Paraan Station. As the UE fighters began to exchange fire with the Demon's photon turrets (about the size of four UE fighters), the blue Enhanced Photon Beam held steady, and within two minutes Paraan Station exploded in a massive fireball. Then, after destroying all the ships in the system with ease, the Demon recloaked, just as it got word that the same thing had happened when the Apollyon attacked Atlantic Station with Photon Mines.

The UE had lost two stations, and the Corocians had gotten two victories.

In the Verril system, all of the UE warships had scrambled to defend Alpha Centauri and Bakka. The Voinians had sent 45 ships to each system, and now the UE was struggling to fight them off.

Suddenly, a Voinian fleet of 60 vessels hyperspaced into the Verril system. There were only traders left in the system, and after they were slaughtered, the Verril Prime colony itself was bombed out of existence. The attacks on Bakka and Alpha Centauri had been diversions.

After Verril was destroyed, the Voinian fleet split up. One third of it went to capture Pax station, which easily fell to the Voinians. The other two thirds went to help the attack on Bakka. Meanwhile, the Voinians retreated from Alpha Centauri and regrouped at Bakka. As backup fleets started heading towards the Voinian fleet at Bakka, the last UE ships in the system had been destroyed. However, suddenly 75 UE ships hyperspaced into Bakka, and a massive battle ensued. The Voinians and UE fought ferociously, but then the Voinians changed their strategy. All ships availible headed for Outpost Alpha, opening fire with all weapons and damaged ships colliding with it. After three hours, Outpost Alpha was destroyed, but the Voinians lost 3 quarters of their fleet, which retreated back to Avann and Vorik. However, the UE had lost two more systems to the Voinians, and the Voinians had gained one. The UE make over a dozen retaliatory attacks, but all of them failed. The Voinian frontier held fast.

(OUT OF CHARACTER): I introduced the blue crystals into the story, and I intend to make it clear where they came from and how they were developed by the Zidagar. Suffice to say, you won't be able to reproduce them that quickly, if at all. I'll reveal this much, it took the Zidagar group working on them over 20 years to get this far with their research on the crystals, and it would take you far more than just a couple posts (try more on the order of a hundred) to duplicate their work. (Besides, if everyone had all of these crystals they wanted, then everyone'll go around destroying space stations and planets left and right. I ask Carnotaur to revoke your post, and ask everyone researching how to duplicate the crystal keep their research slow enough that I wil be able to reveal the idea behind the blue crystals. (They can still use the existing ones.)

On Earth, Samurai's secretary opens the door to his office. "Sir, I'm recieving a priority transmission from a Zachit arada in orbit... The S.S. Affirmation."
"S.S. Affirmation?" Samurai replies, "I've never heard of that ship before. Who is the message from?"
"It's from Thunder. You know, that merchant you hired to deliver the cargo to Hirith."
"Put the message through." A few seconds later an image of Thunder flashed up onto Samurai's computer screen.
"Good to see you again, Thunder. What brings you back here to Earth?"
"An urgent message from the Miranu and the Zachit. There have been many recent developments with them regarding the Renegades, Corocians, and the two Blue Crystals. I have a full report of it right here, I'll land and deliver it to you within the hour."
"Good." Samurai replied. "By the way, what happened to the Prism?"
"It's a long story..." Thunder replied. "I'll tell you when I deliver the Zacha report."

It'll only take me a few more posts to finish up this whole "blue crystal" story arc.

The UE fleet clashes with the Voinians after 20 minutes it was still a close fight. The UE fleet destroyed the Voinian fleet and Avann station, but at the cost of more than half the fleet.
UE losses: 5 UE cruisers, 4 Decimators, 4 carriers, 15 Destroyers, and two squadrons of fighters.
Voinian losses: Avann outpost, 1 dreadnuaght, 4 cruisers, 8 frigates, 20 interceptors, 15 heavy fighters.

As the UE fleet, after destroying Avann Station and the Voinian fleet, prepared to leave the system, suddenly two more Voinian backup fleets arrive (mentioned in earlier posts)! The Voinian fleet, which is much larger than the crippled UE fleet, easily wipes them out. The UE have lost a major fleet, except for 2 Cruisers, one carrier, and 6 destroyers which got away, and the Voinians had lost Avann. However, the Voinian Emporer was planning on setting up another base on a planet quite near to Avann, that was closer to the UE and thus more usable.

Actually, the only part that was left was a small section of the outer station. The core, the docking ports, all the major stuff was destroyed. And Entropy, it won't take years. However, it will take a LONG time to rebuild it, but definitely not years.
