You can't get rid of the phased beam? LOL!! Theres just another reason why I don't go with the Zidagar. They have NOTHING good to offer.

You gotta be kidding me? I have never worked with the Zidager, but now I don't know if I ever want to.

Well, I would definly have to say that the worst weapon would be anything that is in Cresent space that is guided (including Needle Missiles). When I use them, they go somewhere I don't want them to go. For example when attacking an Igadzra in an Arada with Pursuit Missles. They spun 'round and 'round next to my ship. SADs, SAEs and Needle Missle do the same. With 10 of those, you will hit the target 3-4 times!

The worst ship would have to be Voinian Supply Ship, at least from the Voinian point of view. Those things are sitting ducks to just about every other ship in the game. They kept me alive while I was doing some campaigning out in Voinian Space.
I would have to agree! Voinian Supply Ships helped fuel my UE Fighter when doing the Obverse Dreadnought Mission. So, the worst ship is a tie between the Krait and the Voinian Supply Ship. Yes, the Voinian Supply Ship should be able to beat a Krait, but the Krait can dodge the Neutron fire, and kill the Supply Ship.

In order for Pursuit Missiles to work correctly, you have to be pointing exactly at your enemy when you fire them.

What if the Supply Ship has Phase Weaponry?

A Krait can dodge fire from a single phase turret pretty easily. Phase turrets have a weird aiming flaw, and a Voinian Supply Ship can't turn good enough to properly utilize it anyway.

Renegade Infestation?
Meet me in the bar.
Not really, all you have to do is be a good pilot. Besides, you can fit two Phase Turrets on a Voinian Supply ship with no problem.

That makes them even worse. Geez, I don't want to point at ships like an Azdara in something that barely has 90 degrees of turn a second!
What about the other weapons? Is it the same for them, too?

We did this one in a worst ships post. I forget what we decided the wrost one was, but I don't think it was the Krait. Maybe it was

What other ship could it be? Emalgha Fighter? No way! That fighter, though it may be weak and slow, has a lot of extra room with all those rockets and launchers.

I agree. I have actually held a lot of respect for the Emalgha fighter...Especially when I work for the Voinians. Those things, usually when there are three or more, can trash you in a short matter of time with the combination of rockets and cannon fire.

OK, here is what I think of these weapons based on my experience:
Needle Missiles: I used these for a while, they are kinda like Javelin Missiles from EV but they are guided, they do very little damage, and fighters can usually evade them. Their main advantage is that they work in the Nebula(the purple one at the bottom of the map).
Turrets: I personally use the Phase turrets for this reason; I have room for 3, so I compared, the Phase cannons have a slightly longer range than Blaze. I have never used the (Photon?) turrets that the Voinians use because I have one pilot so far, and he works for the UE.
Persuit Missiles: Haven't used them yet, they seem to be anti-fighter, I use my turrets to kill fighters, I run away, they collect in a group behind me and my turrets rip through them.
Dispersal Missiles: Haven't used them yet, I JUST bought a Lazira, they are sorta like area-missiles right? The explosion spreads out to damage groups of fighters. Then again, as I've said, I use turrets against fighters, come to think of it, I use turrets against everything.
Rockets and Hunter Missiles: I use Hunters because I want to be able to do damage without getting too close, these seem to be the answer.
I plan to start other pilots to experiment with the different options.

With a combonation of say 3 or 4 Emalgha Cannons and say the plasma siphon, you can battle a voinian frigate a lot damn easier than you could with a plasma siphon and some blaze cannons...or even phase cannons. Unfortunately it has TERRIBLE accuracy, and doesn't shoot far. So I guess you could say "it takes a skilled captain" to use emalgha weapons.:)

damn strait you have to be one damn good pilot to use emalgha weapons, but when used with 4-6 of every other standerd weapon in the game it isn't all that hard to kill any fighter (or anything else for that matter) that strays into range

The thing is totally useless! NO room for expansion, NO shields, probably still worthless with all the shield generators/upgrades/etc. and the armor, is pretty crappy, even for being a voinian ship! It's also the fastest voinian ship, but a UE fighter could beat it in a race by about 3 hours anyday, and, a single hunter missile can disable it! I tried that on a Krait, it just took a big chunk out of it's shields, and blew it away! I think the Voinian Interceptor is the worst ship in the game. Period.

you got that right stud but i prefer to send in an armada of oh about 50 fighters and nuke any resistance

Actually, I hate ALL Emalgha weapons. Blaze are lighter, more accurate, do more damage to armor and faster, and are simply better because of all the reasons I just mentioned IMHO.

Emalgha weapons are great... on AI ships. When I'm fighting the Voinians (yeah, I sometimes do), I like nothing better than an Emalgha warfleet at my back. Where a player has to keep an eye on his shields and stay out of the way of missiles, those cute little aliens just charge right in. They usually die, but at close range their guns can rip big holes in a Voinian Cruiser.
The kind of move that AIs use in combat (charge, shoot, flash past, turn, charge...) is well suited to the short-range Emalgha weapons with their limited traverse.
Getting back to the topic of this thread: Worst ship and weapon:
The worst ship/weapon combo would have to be my prototype Kamikaze Helian: Strip out all the weapons, convert the cargo bay into extra weapons space, and fit a mine launcher. Yeehaah!
