    • Huron Mission

Ok, I am a newbie to this game, and i had to get a MAC from a friend just to play it.

I am working on the Huron Missions, and have to destroy a fleet on trout then meet a big boss on trout.
But i keep killing guys and it does not get any further

Did i do anything wrong? It said, the renegades would help me, but the keep attacking.....

Hmmm...First, we need to verify some things here. Are you sure that your suppost to be doing a mission on Trout? Last time I remembered, I was pretty sure it was called Troub. (The place below Huron...Is that where you're talking about?) Also, if I recall, it was the Huron that were suppost to help you and the UE pose a "final assault" on the renegades before Huron becomes an independent planet. Just verify those questions for me, then lets find out what's going on.

Ok, you are of course right.
The place is called Troub and its the hurons that are supposed to help me.
Witch they do, but not much. They take off after a short while.
I am supposed to detroy the fleet (that seems to never end) and then meet Commander Tzu on Troub.
I keep destroying the renegades, and nothing happens...

      Thanks

Weird. I remember when I last did that mission, I went to Troub, and was met by the renegades. The Huron then warped in, and blew up all the renegades. I then landed, and was greeted by Admiral Tzu...Are you saying that when you land on Troub, nothing happens? Try checking your mission computer, and then tell me what it tells you to do. (I think you press "I" to view your active missions...)

      It says:
"Destroy a renegade fleet in the Troub system, and then meet with admiral Tzu on Troub"
      That is all

And maybe because i do not have a good ship (an Arda) i had a lot of troubles with a big bunch of small fighters, i hired a fighter escort the first time i went to that system. They all got destroyed, but helped me over the first hump.

Ok. Well first just go and try blowing up every renegade in the system. (Even if you already have...Nothing wrong with trying again. 🙂 ) No, I don't believe your ship is the problem. I do all the renegade missions in an Arada...It is perfect for the missions. Contains good firepower, excellent speed, and good shields. You'll need the speed to Monty Python all the renegade kraits. When there are too many kraits, they will quickly overwhelm you. Using the Monty Python is really the only way to beat some missions, especially when you're in an Arada doing the renegade missions. But if you are having problems getting rid of the kraits, try fitting your Arada with phase cannons...Incredible range, same punch as blaze cannons, and high rate of fire. Try that and see how it works...

If "Monty Python" is what i think it is, then i am doing that....
But there we go. I have to get rid of the cannons i have, which i only seem to be able to in the system i bought them (i.e. somewhere east), and then, where do i get the blaze cannons?
And Kraits are a problem only if the turn up in numbers above six.

      Thx

If you're thinking Monty Python is running away from enemy fighters and blowing them to pulp, you're right. I only use it when there are too many fighters, however, since it takes away the fun of the game.
Also, what I meant to say was you WANT the phase cannons...Using just normal blaze guns means you have just about the same firepower as most ships of your size in UE space...Fitting your Arada with Phase cannons will help you out more then you might think. I've grown to love them! 🙂

Yep, that was what I thought "Monty Python" means
I will see if I can get some phase cannons. Any tips where i should look for them?

      Another answer.
It seems the Arda was equiped with phase cannons from the start.....

Ok. Do you have four of them? (Phase Cannons) You need to get as many as you can get. If you're really having too many problems with defeating the renegades, I suggest you go north or east to a strand planet and upgrade it with the most advanced technology.

It seems the Arda was equiped with four. I just sold the missile laucher witch i can relaod only in the east anyway.
Now the problem starts. What is a "strand planet"? I read something about them in the forum, but i guess i still have to find out, where or what they are.

"Strand" is a common term usually used to refer to the Azdgari, Igadzra, Zidager, Council, Strandless, Miranu, and Emalgha races. So when I mentioned "go to a strand planet," I meant go some alien planet that has a wide variety of outfits and weapons. (Like Zidager) Hope that helps!

That helps alot, thx. I once ventured up to the far north and actually survived in a scoutship. Was just for trying.
Anyway, I will play on and see where it gets me....

You can contact me with AIM, by the way.

Keep heading that direction, and then head a bit to the east, and you'll stumble upon Zidager, capital of the Zidager strand. There, you have a wide variety of ships, and the planet right next to Zidager has lots of outfits. I usually go there when I need upgrades. Glad the info helps, and hope you make some friends in strand space. 😉

The Scoutship is a good vessel to use when you're heading to alien space. Plenty of fuel, which is what you need. Also, I don't believe I actually have AIM anymore...Sorry! Anyway, It is late here in the southern states of the US, so I'd better tune out for the night. I will continue this conversation tommorow. I'll bet it's around mid-day in Germany, right?

If you want anymore info, feel free to e-mail me at sirpatrick@tmgmedia.net. Thanks!

Yeap, sounds like a good idea. It can be agrivating, though, when you're sure that you've completed a mission, only to find out that you really didn't. Try kiwi's advice, Sterling, and see how that works out.

I tried it all by now, I guess. I was killing renegades for three hours straight last night. I landed a thousand times, I took off, I landed, I killed.... I can even take out Turncoats by now, without too much trouble (Probably not much of an acomplishment, but Three days ago, I had to keep my distance)

Strange. You mean you spent all that time blowing up renegades, and you still didn't complete the mission? Wow. Here's what I would do if I were still having problems. Abort the mission, and go back to the place you got it so you can try again. (I think you get the mission at Knox?) There is a risk that you won't get it back, but the last scenario is to abort it and hunt for the mission again, or you might as well start a new pilot. :frown:
